Poke Radar
Oak doesn't explain it very well... I've gotten the chain concept, but I've seen it said that it increases your chances of finding a shiny Pokemon. Two questions: Is this true? And if so, is the shiny Pokemon from your current chain, or is it a random Pokemon from that area?

It is true the bigger the chain, the better chance of finding a shiny, and yes whatever pokemon your chaining is the shiny that appears.

Got your answer, so I'll get my padlocks out. But all simple questions like this should be asked in the Q&A thread.
