Small Movesets

Has anybody noticed that a lot of the Generation II Pokemon in GSC have tiny movesets? Wooper and Mareep both learn about 7 moves in total, and with the TMs being so poor its really restricting. I'm only into the early stages but have already noticed this.

I have noticed that also and sometimes it really bugs because it takes
the pokemon so long to learn their next attack.

While true, the earlier games had alot less total moves. If the G-S-C remake everyone is fussing about is released, then we will probably have certain new egg moves and pre-level 5 moves (like the move tutors who let Pokemon "remember" moves).

Yeah i noticed that...

But look at them now. They have more movesets!

P.S.
