Change? Is it as good as Obama says?

http://blogs.wvgazette.com/coaltattoo/files/2009/04/obama-change.jpg

With the upcoming "remakes" of Gold & Silver, are you one of the people who wants to keep it AS CLOSE to the originals as possible? Or are you on of the people who wants changes here and there, to make it more fun and exciting?

I'd like your reasons why too. :D!

Artemis May 10th, 2009 5:54 PM

Keeping the game as close to the originals would be the best shot, but adding in a few little tweaks into the game just to spruce it up, [such as high leveled trainers/gyms/elites] and things along this, wouldn't be too bad.

Sublime May 10th, 2009 5:55 PM

I want it to be as close to the original as possible. It wouldn't be a remake if it wasn't.
Now, adding a sub-plot after you beat the E4 would be a nice touch.

BeachBoy May 10th, 2009 5:56 PM

I'd like to remain close to Gold / Silver to maintain the nostalgia, but yeah, it'd be nice to have some changes here and there to add more excitement, depth, and fun. (i.e Kanto improvements, etc)

AJ™ May 10th, 2009 5:57 PM

I'd also like to see Kanto not so trashed.
I'm psyched about the graphics though.

kingofjokers May 10th, 2009 5:58 PM

keep it the same to an extent like a better storyline would be better but the rest the same but updated

Jαcκςση May 10th, 2009 6:00 PM

I'd like it basically the same, but with some serious improvements on Kanto and post-elite four.

elratauru May 10th, 2009 6:00 PM

Im in the retro-guys, however if to the things that were on the original they add more, I'll be pleased.

Astinus May 10th, 2009 6:04 PM

I would love to see the original plot make a return. If an addition to the plot was made, like the Sevii Islands after the E4 in FR/LG, then that would be fine and I wouldn't have much problem with it.

I just don't want to see a lot of changes made to the games, since they are remakes of older games instead of brand new games. (Also, the nostalgia factor.)

s0nido May 10th, 2009 7:48 PM

The amount of change in the remakes should be comparable to that of the change between RBY and Fr/Lg. It would be similar to the original, and still pretty exciting to play. I mean, you wouldn't want to pay $40-$60 for a DS-version of Pokemon Silver, wouldn't you? I would prefer to play it on a GBC.

Bay May 10th, 2009 7:59 PM

The Rocket plot I would like it to be stayed the same. Seriously, that plot in the original version just kicks butt. However, I think it would be cool if there's actually a few more Rockets still hanging around at Kanto after the Radio Tower incident instead of just one in the original.

The changes I would like to see though, is Kanto. Pretty much the reason is because the region seems suddenly smaller and a lot of things taken away. That, and it was weird how the levels of the wild Pokemon gets smaller and smaller as you go father (Remembers a level 2 Noctowl close to Petwer City, lol). Would like to see that the wild Pokemon actually gets stronger the farther you go.

That's about what I was going to say, so.. man, I love quotes. :D

I love that it has some new add-ons, even more than DP it seems. While at the same time, I'm also hoping that it will stay close enough to the original G/S games to where it doesn't feel like I'm playing a completely different game. I wasn't too fond of the feel that D/P gave.. so I hope that HG/SS will keep its nostalgic feeling of awesomness. xD

They did good when they remade Red and Green, so I have faith in them for Silver and Gold.

Lightning Sage™ May 10th, 2009 8:18 PM

I would love it too be close as possible to the origanal because it was a great game. I would also like to see some improvements because there can always be improvements!!!!

Careful With That Axe, Pichu! May 10th, 2009 8:28 PM

Well, I want it to be just like FR/LG, identical, with an extended quest towards the end (like those cool islands)

True Reign May 10th, 2009 8:33 PM

Keeping the remakes as close to the originals are very important, but like Flash stated, you should also add small additions to the remake as this will satisfy people's needs for a harder challenge.

Buoysel May 10th, 2009 8:35 PM

If they keep it too close to the original, people will beet the elite four in 2 1/2 hours. They need to change somethings. Personally I hope that the "remake" is not actually a remake at all. I hope it is a completely new story line. and perhaps the time will be set after Platinum.

Åzurε May 10th, 2009 8:43 PM

I think what they should do is use the same story, but polish it up like they did in platinum. they made the characters more, for lack of a better word, human, you know? More detailed and with more background to them. I also noticed somewhat of a change in the leveling on Gira's game. Like, your level 80-something Torterra could actually get experience from level 30's...odd, but true. Oh, and they should mention noobs, like that guy in the Canalave Gym. XD

Tyrantrum May 10th, 2009 9:32 PM

I'd like to see some changes, here and there.

I mean, it was really fun, but I'd like to see more to it, like the character you didn't play as would be your rival two, etc.

Finnel May 10th, 2009 9:36 PM

I already think there's too much change, in the soundtrack. The background music we heard for New Bark Town on Pokémon Sunday sounded like something terrible from D/P/Pt. Okay, D/P/Pt's soundtrack was fine, but using the same style and instruments doesn't fit G/S at ALL. It makes me really sad.

AJ™ May 11th, 2009 2:46 AM

It's not like they were going to use lower quality graphics/sound.

BHwolfgang May 11th, 2009 2:52 AM

First off, seriously? XD Obama Obama Obama

O.Kay. I would prefer it if they stick to the original as possible. This is a remake, afterall. However, it would be nice if there some additional sub-plot or new areas after the main storyline, including beating the Elite 4.

dc_united May 11th, 2009 3:09 AM

I think they should redo Kanto, as it just felt so... empty in the original, only taking somewhere between 3-4 hours to beat, if I recall. Little things like adding more pokemon, or increasing the levels of the ones already there (no reason why we waste so much time beating the elite four and getting to Pallet town, only to find some level two Pidgey)

Lynx1 May 11th, 2009 3:21 AM

I'd love for it to be changed up a bit, so long as it doesn't deviate too far.

Azonic May 11th, 2009 3:24 AM

Close to the original means a Gold / Silver Version with only better graphics. :| I find that completely boring.

slaughter077 May 11th, 2009 3:35 AM
