Well you need to stop complaining About people Opinions first.

You're making such bold statements from a 5 second video, blurry screen shots, and rumored info.

If you want, go back and hug your crystal version and stop being so negative around here. We don't need these garbage posts like OMG GEN4.5 THIS AUTOMATICALLY SUCKS.

BAWW BAWW BAWW, IT'S NOT A PIXEL FOR PIXEL PORT OF G/S. BAWWWWWWWW

One Hit-KO!

I agree with you Poli.
It would be boring having an exact remake. The same maps, bleh.
Also why do a lot of people hate the new girl?
I can't think of a good reason...
Also I wasn't expecting Crystal to be in it.
Anyways, it is a new character, why to hate it?
We don't even know her personality.
And why adapt her to anime if games has nothing to do with anime?
The girl in RF/LG wasn't adapted to anime, did she?

**** *** new girl haters!

The new look of Johto and the 3D design has given a positive and different appearance to the Johto. I see it more and more with every new leaked picture we receive.

I completely agree, although I don't think these screens qualify as leaked.

Artemis May 13th, 2009 2:20 PM

True, it really isn't leaked, I guess I misused my words there, but I still stick to what I recently stated.

Stronkadonk May 13th, 2009 3:18 PM

Since I am an epic fail, would someone explain the Arceus half to me, please?

Anyways... It looks like PKMNBlogger from YouTube was correct in saying that the Shiny Pichu triggered a GS/DS Event. Also, it looks awesome to see a shiny following you about.

Epic new Sprites, and epic new Lugia/Ho-oh Art. I can't wait till these are released.

Orly? Positive? no. Different? Yes.
It's just too damn much of a change, I'm sorry.
It's like they're changing the maps as a whole. Of course,
the typical trademarks will remain in the same places, but..
it feels like a different game. Of course that's not bad, but
this WAS supposed to be a GS Remake.. This is all in terms of Nostalgia:
The music, what we know of, is pretty much completely changed.
The maps have also been revamped, and more than graphic-wise.
The girl was replaced, as well.. I still love the game and I'm not
trying to make a rant or anything, but I'm just saying it's straying
away from a remake we expected and they promised, and more of
a totally new game. In a sense, it is 4.5 Gen. I still love this game
and I still love gen 2 and Johto. I'll still get both games.. It's just
I expected more nostalgia is all.

Well you cannot have the whole cake and eat it all. The graphics were expected, and the new look because of it is great and has truly brought life to Johto. The girl was never replaced as you stated, because there was no girl in the original GS to begin with. The music, we haven't heard all of it, so it's kind of too early to assume that it was all changed to something new. The plot with Team Rocket appears to be pretty much the same [we'll see as time goes on] but as far as I can tell, it isn't straying away from the original as you have stated so much.

The games are for the DS, so the graphics are obviously going to be on the DS's level.

As for the music, we've only heard a single piece, and the only difference from the old one is that it's slowed down.

Jαcκςση May 13th, 2009 3:35 PM

Ermm.. what's with arceus?

Edit: nvm. http://www.serebii.net/platinum/arceus.shtml

Haza May 13th, 2009 3:41 PM

Kris could still play the role of what Barry did in DPPt

Also, I think the Pichu in fornt of PC Pichu is Gizamimi. Look at the ear on the left.

PlatinumDawnFtw May 13th, 2009 3:49 PM

As I've said before, I really like the new girl. I think she's much better than Kris, even though she raided Mario's wardrobe.

Alex May 13th, 2009 3:56 PM

I hate the new girl, she looks like she was drawn up in two minutes because they forgot to make one. I understand that Kris was for Crystal version and I respect it, but please don't draw someone who looks like she's from the '50s. Overalls for god's sake? She almost beats May.

Secondly, I think that everyone is freaking out way too much about the Pichu event. Think about it: Nintendo never reveals really big things unless it's to make money. The fact that your starter follows you was revealed to give people more reason to buy the game because they knew that everyone has wanted your Pokemon to follow you ever since they made it happen in Yellow version. They wouldn't reveal a super important event in Ilex Forest, which is why I think it's not as big as everyone thinks.

And considering they've kept the screenshots reserved to Ilex Forest as farthest in the game, I think the house is Kurt's house. We've got the Slowpoke Well, the Shrine in Ilex Forest, and by the surroundings, it looks like it's Kurt's house. I think it is.

Artemis May 13th, 2009 4:03 PM

Kurt's house was the original thought about the house, and I agree with it more. With all the maps provided it is still unclear of the exact place because of how different each place looks with the new graphics compared to the old.

Jαcκςση May 13th, 2009 4:12 PM

I know a few people who can read japanese, so I'm going to try to convince one of them to translate this for me. If they do, I'll post it.

Bz May 13th, 2009 4:13 PM

the pic on the left, the bellsprout tower place?

New scans, eh?

These look pretty neat. Although they look strangely very similar to Sinnoh. Especially the last screenshot, it looks nearly identical to Canalave City.

Are you sure you aren't mistakening this for the actual Canalave City picture that is given in the new scans?

Zelda May 13th, 2009 4:48 PM

Sprout Tower looks about the same as before except for the graphics and some new touches. I actually like it though from seeing the scan.

take your damn nostalgia goggles off, or just quit WHINING and go play your old G/S versions.

basically what you're saying is you want an exact port of G/S on the DS, with the old graphics and all that.
nintendo didn't promise you anything, don't say and act like you think they did.

what the hell.

and for future reference, yes this is in fact Gen 4 and not Gen 2, just like how FR/LG were upgraded to be Gen 3 and not Gen 1. It is not, will not, and will never be Gen 2 again.

BryanDX May 13th, 2009 5:04 PM

With the bag being on touch panel i'm just wondering if start button will do anything.

Psyburn May 13th, 2009 5:10 PM

Poliwagged: you're basically trying to silence everyone who doesn't blindly accept the game with open arms. just because people wanted a remake doesn't mean they are obligated to love every aspect of it. Ironic as it is, I find your overrall attitude in telling everyone to F off because they have a complaint....rather hillarious.....its like complaining about the 8.8 on Zlda Twilight Princess.

That's not what I'm saying.

I'm just having trouble fathoming all the people who believe that Nintendo/Gamefreak promised them a pixel by pixel re-port of G/S to satisfy their nostalgia kick and are now complaining about every little change, weather major like the girl, or minor like some damn TREES.

It's mind boggling how some people can believe so selfishly like that. I mean, yes I do have some problems with the game, I will admit that the girl wasn't the most brightest of Ken Sugimori's designs, but I don't go around whining and telling people how it ruins the nostalgia and that jazz. I'll get used to it, and I'm sure I'll grow to like her in the future.

Psyburn May 13th, 2009 5:22 PM

Well, for me, the trees IS a big issue. For example, honey trees was BS in every regard. haing to wait six friggin hours just to catch a pokemon is stupid, as in if you are trying to get Heracross or munchlax, its a pain in the ass when their encounter rates are completely low and unforgivable, you'ed have to go through combee after wurmple just to get them. You think THATS not worth complaining about!? I say hell with you in that department. :/ And about the "promise" gig, no one claimed nintendo promised them anything. People EXPECTED remake in regards that some of the better features of the older games will NOT get screwed over into the new games IE the damn trees. And yes, I think the female character looks like crap as i've stated before :P

I'm not talking about the honey trees, I'm talking about the GRAPHICAL TREES.
That penumbra kid was complaining about how the new graphics for the trees ruin the whole Johto. What's up with that logic?
