Eurovision

Well next Saturday it's Eurovision, the national singing contest where each country in Europe sends in a song. Iceland sent in Jóhanna Guðrún that got past round 1 into the finals yesterday.

Tomorrow the 2nd semi finals are do, so what is your favorite song? If you live in Europe will you be voting?

What song did your country send in to the competition?

Will you be watching the contest?

Iceland sent in this song, Is it true.

I gotta say, I thought there were some pretty darn good songs so it was good this year :]

The ones that I loved were Norway, Iceland, Turkey, Romania and the UK (obviously). The UK did great this year and I'm happy we're in fifth =D Norway's song is just so catchy so I don't blame them for blasting everybody else out of the competition :3

Norway is awesome for winning. His violin bit was pure win and the song was lovely. Although I did want Saki Rouva to win.

My family say Jade was too good to win*sad* even though I live in england and think we needed a better song!
5th's ok though...

tbh, I think Germany or Portugal should have won. Their songs were just like the essence of Eurovision set to music. Norway was decent, but it didn't deserve to win imho, much less break the record for most ever points.

I thought the UK song was terrible. I think the song has to be more energetic and less of a ballad. Norway’s song was by far the best out of the ones I saw, I liked the use of the violin and the tune itself was catchy.

I agree with concerns about Jade Ewen's song being 'too slow' to win Eurovision, but for it to do so well - we were second at one point in the voting, remember - is a great achievement for both her and Andrew Lloyd-Webber.

I don't know if it's just me, but I didn't think the Norwegian entry was all that good. ._. It was evidently made just to cater to the Europop tastes of most people who vote on Eurovision. Entries I liked included the Turkish and Azerbaijani entries, and I thought the Swedish entry should have done a lot better. =[

Iceland got 2nd, wow that was pretty awesome, I mean Jóhanna and who could blame Norway for winning with that handsome singer, eye candy much. *Drools*

Awh, I really enjoyed it! I knew the Norweigens would win, although I liked most of the acts ^^ The Russian one was haunting o_O

My sister kept singing "I'm in looooove with a fairytaaale" for the next 5 days. I couldn't be bothered much. But I have to say the Norwegian was one that kept stuck in your head I suppose.

What I am pretty sure about, is that many of the Belgians (at least the Flemish part) wanted Turkey to win. We got booted out in the semi-finals, but the Turkish singer was actually a Belgian. Believe it or not, but Hadise is from Flanders. So, I kinda hoped she'd win. But 4th place is a nice one. I didn't pay much attention to the actual songs (I kinda let the event pass), so I can't say which one I really liked. XD
