Do you intentionally genderbend?

It's all in the title.

Do you intentionally try to make people think you're the other gender, or a gender at all?

When I first came to PC, people just naturally thought I was a girl. So I kept it going, I guess.

PokemonMichael May 16th, 2009 2:25 PM

I change mine up a lot. Some days im a twenty year old female, the next im 14 male. Which is my actual thing. Lol. So ill say yes, because its fun. lolz

King! May 16th, 2009 2:28 PM

No. I don't. I'm not sure why though.....I guess I just.......Don't.

WAIT! Paris Hilton(the user) is a boy!!??

ShinjisLover May 16th, 2009 2:30 PM

. . . >.> Yes. . V_V

I got my period!
Gah, I hurt my balls! >=O

XD

Ayano Hana May 16th, 2009 2:32 PM

Not...eh, really. I just don't feel like changing my gender that much, but I might get around to it.

Nick May 16th, 2009 2:37 PM

I used to gender bender on purpose, but then everyone found out my real name, so that was a bust. Gender bendering for n00bs is pretty pointless, though. Most of the n00bs these days are just beyond retarded. The ones back when I used to gender bend were so fun.

Once everyone found out my name, I just put real information about myself in my profile and moved on with it. I even changed my emblem from a sexy one, which was intended for the girls to use on staff, to the manly one. :<

...I miss my sexy emblem, though. I might put it back up.

King! May 16th, 2009 2:44 PM

^

Shinji~~l.o.l
Abercrombie~~ Hmmm.....n00bs......

Plus, My Username KINDA gives it away..........

WHO GAV MA SUM REP!!!???

Melodyfree May 16th, 2009 2:55 PM

I don't really genderbend, but sometimes I like to leave my actual gender up in the air. On one forum in particular, some of my gaming buddies actually had an entire debate in a chatroom about my gender. I was lurking in it. I laughed. Hard.

devilicious May 16th, 2009 2:56 PM

Not really intentionally anymore. People just get confused anyway so I just might have my fun, lol.

I once got a whole forum wondering my gender though, and became somehow of a celebrity there because of it. Good times.

Lynnx May 16th, 2009 2:57 PM

No, I don't really see the point. Plus I'm too lazy.

BHwolfgang May 16th, 2009 4:02 PM

Nah, it's not my style. I like being a male, and am proud of it!

Percy Thrillington May 16th, 2009 4:06 PM

Used to, back in the day. Then everyone found out my name was Kevin and the joke was over.

:(

Gummy May 16th, 2009 4:43 PM

I played around with the idea in the Boys&Girls Counting Thread, but it wasn't really my thing.

Does playing as females in MMORPGs count? I play as females, but usually after my male character has significantly leveled.

jigglyppuff8 May 16th, 2009 4:51 PM

I don't intentionally. I always want to make it clear that I'm a guy. But somehow, I always come off as a girl for some reason. T_T

Caelus May 16th, 2009 5:41 PM

No, I just don't like doing it.
I always put my gender in as male / N/A and it has always been that way.

Aurafire May 16th, 2009 6:11 PM

I've never done it purposely, but the female themes sometimes throw people off. But then again, it says male in my info. It doesn't seem worth it, especially since a lot of people already know I'm a guy =P

Wish May 16th, 2009 6:14 PM

Well, I don't TRY to genderbend, but everybody is baffled about my gender ever since I stopped specifying it here. Heck, I got the emblem for it. :>

Well in short, it's fun genderbending and confusing everyone. :3

sanny the hedgehog May 16th, 2009 6:27 PM

um no
whenever i join a site of some sort i want to set strait one thing
I AM A MAN!
(okay maybe not a man more of a dude or some guy you just talked to on the internet. yeah lets go whit dat!)

Second Coming of Jebus May 16th, 2009 9:31 PM

I too, am having troubles coming out the closet irl.

Klippy May 16th, 2009 10:41 PM

I don't intentionally, but it seems my gender is female when that is not the case. :[

What up with that.

Ivysaur May 17th, 2009 1:17 AM

Nope, I'm pretty happy with my gender XD

Even if some people still think I am a girl XD

King! May 17th, 2009 3:49 AM

Why would we think that, Went?

You have such a manly username.

xD *shot*

Pyrax May 17th, 2009 4:58 AM

Sometimes.

On another forum a newbie though I was a girl for some reason :p

OokamiShipper May 17th, 2009 6:23 AM

Well...I thought about genderbending once or twice, but I figured, I'm not gonna fool anyone, not that anyone would notice...hahaha...yeah. xP

Legobricks May 17th, 2009 6:43 AM

I try to maintain myself as androgynous, though I'm sure many of the regulars here know my gender anyway.

True Reign May 17th, 2009 6:48 AM

Everyone should know that I'm a guy, but I just put Female as my sex for the hell of it.

Alexithymia~ May 17th, 2009 6:49 AM

No. I haven't. Though I guess it might be fun.
And even though it said clearly that I was female in my forum profile, someone still called me a 'he'. :( Damn.

Fox♠ May 17th, 2009 7:57 AM

Yes, I have being lying this whole time, I am in fact a 42 year old single mum keeping an eye on her kids here. This 18 year old male thing is a ruse.

Rogue planet May 17th, 2009 8:03 AM

If I am unsure about someones gender then I presume that they are male, as it is nearly always a male pretending to be a female. I don't really see any appeal behind being male, so I don't see why a female would pretend to be male.
To answer the question, no I don't.

Jorah May 17th, 2009 8:20 AM

I've had about 6 people tell me randomly in topics that they always thought I was a boy and were surprised to find out I was a girl, and I've had a few others when talking about me call me "he". Even though I've always had it as female on my profile XD I think my old avatars may have influenced people into thinking I was male, but they were just pictures of Ash, so I don't know o.O I don't think anyone would make the mistake now though. XD

Mobile Tsk May 17th, 2009 8:39 AM

Yeah, half the time I join sites I mark the gender to "Female". That way I can talk about hot guys without homophobes yelling at me.

Class:laugh:absolute class

Im a boy, im a boy but my mom wont admit it ( The who)

Michii May 17th, 2009 2:57 PM

I've never intentionally genderbended on Pokecommunity. Even though some people have believed I'm a guy (for reasons I'll never know), I put it out that I'm absolutely and positively a girl.

On another big forum though... pshhhh. My username made many people think of me as a male. It irritated the woah out of me. ;;

Lucent May 17th, 2009 5:03 PM

Sometimes I genderbend on purpose <3 Because I love confusing people XD And because I am usually a bit more boyish than girlish at times, or the opposite.

Sometimes, I do it just out of boredom. Depends, really~

s0nido May 17th, 2009 6:20 PM

I've never tried. I don't really see the point. I just specify that I'm a male and let other people see that I am one. I don't even try to act like any other gender. What's the point of that?

Alex May 17th, 2009 7:55 PM

I used to. It was amusing to see people refer to me as a certain gender in one post, and then someone else refer to me as the opposite gender in another. XD

Translator May 17th, 2009 8:15 PM

Well, I have never done it. But I think gender bending is fun. :)

.inLOVE May 18th, 2009 1:02 PM

God no.

I want people to know I'm a girl. Although I'm not offended if someone calls me a guy.

Charliezard May 18th, 2009 5:22 PM

I'll change my gender and age when I'm bored. But I'm too lazy to go out of my way to make people actually think I'm a 10 year old girl or w.e.

Gerri Shin May 18th, 2009 6:16 PM

nope, I can't be bothered to change my age or gender anymore, in fact I've only ever changed my age once. I think the only aspects of my account that I change anymore are my signature, Profile, Blog, and my password. other than that nothing ever changes.

I'm happy being a guy and I can't act like a girl so I wouldn't even try.

Snivi May 21st, 2009 10:58 PM

No, I am a girl but I do dress a bit tomboyish. I HATE skirts.

~*!*~Tatsujin Gosuto~*!*~ May 24th, 2009 5:34 AM

no, thats one thing I will never do is genderbend. I can't lie about my gender. I also can't lie about my orientation as well

:t354:TG

Virtual Chatot May 24th, 2009 5:35 AM

I like having XY chromosomes, so no :O

Cold Fusion May 24th, 2009 5:52 AM

Nope, I never have. Though some people have mistaken me for a boy. :/ But, I'm not too fussed, all I have to do is tell them that I'm a girl.
Though a lot of people have said that I act more like a boy than a girl... ah well.

I don't think I ever will genderbend, may be funny, but I'd confuse myself. xD

Alakazam17 May 24th, 2009 6:41 AM

Well, I do tend to act like a girl most of the time, so I can't really be surprised when I'm mistaken for one. Which happens quite a bit, yes.

And due to one of those instances in the Sabrina fanclub about two weeks ago, I went ahead and switched it in my profile, lulz.

I am a guy, yes, but some of the time I can't stand acting like one. But I'll still admit that I am one. =P

kissing. raindrops May 24th, 2009 8:35 PM

Uh no.. I don't see the point in confusing people, just makes it awkward and weird?

Jack O'Neill May 24th, 2009 8:48 PM

I never even bothered trying. What's the point? Besides, even if I tried, I couldn't keep up the deception for very long without being found out; it's both the big things and the little things that give me away.

Ayano Katagiri May 24th, 2009 11:41 PM

I've never done it intentionally.. my themes make people think otherwise, but I haven't genderbended intentionally.

Cheesymitten May 25th, 2009 2:57 AM

I havn't even thought about it, i'd rater be myself, than try to be a female.

Logan May 25th, 2009 3:58 PM

xD If you call getting people to call you Alice genderbending then yes :P

The Red Chain May 29th, 2009 1:13 AM

I don't intentionally, but it's common for people to be stereotypical, so I tend to cause a lot of confusion once people get to know me. <3

Cherrim May 29th, 2009 3:31 AM

I've only intentionally gone well out of my way to avoid saying my gender in a specifically gender-related topic and it wasn't fun. However, just leaving my gender set to "n/a" and letting people figure it out for themselves is pretty fun. :3 It's amazing what a lack of perception a lot of people have since honestly, it's not hard to figure out whether I'm a guy or a girl.

It's kinda boring these days though--mostly everyone knows my IRL name so there's very little confusion. :(

Captain Fabio May 29th, 2009 3:59 AM

I don't really set out to make people think am Male or Female.

I think most people can guess anyway!

>Feelings< May 29th, 2009 6:20 AM

No, I don't try to confuse people with my gender... ever.

I'm clearly a guy.

Lana. May 29th, 2009 6:30 AM

I only recently put up my gender on PC. I didn't intentionally genderbend; I wasn't trying to. B

But, hopefully, it's obvious what my gender is.
