Red Gyarados?

Do you think you can still get Red Gyarados and if you can what lvl would he be and would he have different moves when you catch him whats your opinion

superclaw_12 May 17th, 2009 2:07 AM

pooooooooookkkkeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeemonnnnnnnnnn!

well it's a bit obvious.

the red gyarados is an important part of the game

Shiny Gardevoir May 17th, 2009 2:11 AM

Maybe it will be lv 50 or 60... But it was lv 30 last time. If there will be red gyarados, shiny gyarados won't be so rare anymore :D.

The Dragon Master Is Back May 17th, 2009 2:33 AM

Hmmm...
Well I'm Not Really "Into" Gyarados if you know what
I mean...
But I would like it maybe a gold colopur and at level 50

Cubed May 17th, 2009 2:43 AM

Maybe it might be lvl 47?

it was Lv 30 last time not Lv 40 . it will be Lv 30 this time also ( I think ) , because Nintendo wont make it higher than your Party Pokemon , Plus its Powerful , not because its Shiny . its Known that All Gyarados,s are Powerful ...

and yea Red Gyarados is an Important part of the Story .

Virtual Chatot May 17th, 2009 3:32 AM

Obviously, why wouldn't it make an appearance?

You guys have to remember this is a remake, not a complete overhaul of the story.

zirico May 17th, 2009 3:39 AM

i think it should have something special about it apart from being shiny, like knowing a move that i cannot actually learn by any other means that would be sooo cool

NytewolfAU2k7 May 17th, 2009 4:41 AM

I remember the Red Gyarados, My fingers are crossed it will still be in the remake ;) It should still be level 30, Unless Game Freak want to make it a bit more challenging.

Spinosaurus May 17th, 2009 4:46 AM

The Red Gyrados was one of the important plots Of the Story.

Ofcourse they will keep it and maybe change its moves?

It wouldnt be a Remake if they removed the most importanat plots in the story.

ashketchumandpikachufan May 17th, 2009 5:01 AM

I think the red gyarados is going to have a extended storyline in this game because in diamond, pearl, and platinum they all have the beginning scene about the red gyarados on the news so probably there will be a newsteam at the lake of rage!

I can't wait to capture the red gyraados!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

p.s sorry i cant spell gyarados good

Penumbra May 17th, 2009 6:05 AM

It was level 30, first of all (been covered).
Also, what if it IS a red gyarados..
Do you get what I'm saying?
I mean.. what if it is a RED GYARADOS..
but not shiny? I can imagine that.
Shiny Gyarados? Every team would have
it since it's so easy to get. You never
know if they change the story, actually.
I mean, Lance could easily just say

"Team Rocket forced Evolution to a
small magikarp and now it's rampaging
in the lake, injuring people! It can't
contain it's newly created power! Please, Gold,
calm the Gyarados down!"

If you think about it, Red Gyarados is only
a nostalgic staple of the game, and not really
an important part of the story. Lance said the
Magikarp got forced to evolve and kept it's colour
due to early evolution, but that's not really important,
and you only find that out if you search around the
Lake. I mean, it WOULD be nice and fun to see it
again, but you have to look at the reason:
why would they need a red gyarados in the story?

[offtopic]
Also, is it just me, or did they replace the Farfetch'd
event as well? People say it's a "pichu event", but why
would they show a Wi-Fi/Movie event that early?
Didn't get much clarification on this. IS it part of the
12th movie event?

BHwolfgang May 17th, 2009 6:20 AM

Well, even if everyone captures a Red Gyarados, it doesn't mean that it would be in their teams. There are many other great Pokémon who has better stats than a Gyarados.

I hope that they make it stronger this time.

JP May 17th, 2009 6:28 AM

I think it'll be in the game, don't really care about the level though.

OokamiShipper May 17th, 2009 7:03 AM

It's kinda obvious, the Red Gyrados was important since it was evolved by Team Rocket as an "experiment."
I don't really pay attention to the level you catch it at, you can always just train it. >.>

solaris knight May 17th, 2009 7:20 AM

The "Red Gyarados" will likely be here like it was the last time. If memory serves, you had to either defeat or capture it for Lance to appear at the lake, right?

And yeah, it was lv.30.

BUG♥CATCHER★BREEZE May 17th, 2009 7:36 AM

;) A golden Magikarp would be cool!
Of course Red Gyrados will be there. He's part of GSC. It's possible they will move when it will appear in the game, but why wouldn't he appear?

Electricz May 17th, 2009 7:53 AM

also it must appear i just remember you get red shard from Gyarados and you trade it to mr pokemon for a exp shere

Um, no, it was Lv. 30.

But, since it's a remake, it will obviously be in the game, because that was the very first Shiny Pokémon announced, and it was pretty famous, so I don't think they would get rid of something like that. But, I wouldn't mind it being a little higher in level.

Gummy May 17th, 2009 10:34 AM

I'm fairly sure that the Red Gyarados will make a reappearance in the story of HGSS because, as many others have said, it plays a role in the original story. However, I think they make it noncatchable because of the rarity that has been associated with shinies over the last two generations.

Arguably, the advent of the PokéRadar means that shinies are not as rare/valuable as they once were. =/

But yes, I still believe thet our old buddy Red Gyarados will be in the remakes. If he isn't, I shall be majorly dissapointed.

Herald Riddler May 17th, 2009 3:03 PM

Well it will definately reappear, its level will be dependant on whether or not Kanto is once again included in the game, which I'm assuming its not. Red Gyarados was level 30 because Johto was very fast paced, because there were 2 of everything, and the gym leaders had low levels, etc. I predict it will be 30 with kanto, 47 without.

Mumei May 17th, 2009 3:07 PM

...why do you assume kanto won't be included? That was a HUGE MAJOR part of the originals, they wouldn't get rid of it.

Yes it was, but there are quite a few factors that regulate whether or not it will be included, like how much extra stuff they add to the remake, say they spiff out Big Catching contests, add contest halls, increase different Pokemon, add a Safarai Zone in Johto, add more wild Pokemon, maybe have something like The Battle Frontier or the Islands in FireRed/LeafGreen. They add something like the islands to replace Kanto, they could add more to the Johto section.

Ultima0071 May 17th, 2009 3:32 PM

I highly doubt Red Gyrados will be reintroduced to the game. This would make all the shiny Gyradoses out there useless.
