Office 2010 technical preview leaked to BT

Article

Well, the interface certainly looks better than the 2007 version. The annoying ribbon is still there, but that horrid logo = main menu thing is gone, replaced with a templates page I think.

As for me, I'll still be using OpenOffice.org, thanks.

eh, it's a step up from office 2007, but for my money, I'm still sticking with iWork or OpenOffice.org. Both have more to offer in an easier to use package.

Screenshots=missing. XD
Anyway i bet it looks good. I hope I can someday get Windows7 on my PC and conivnce father that everything except vista is good after XP. XD

Yeah, Microsoft's legal team has been quick to get on Ars Technica's back, by the looks of things. A quick Google search does bring up this result, however...

Oh man that looks like some fine software. I just love the 2000 look for 7.

I will stick with '07.

I don't see the point in updating for a while...

Yeah, I downloaded the TP and I don't really see anything awesome about it. I mean, the UI does seem more easy to navigate especially in the various options but so far I'm not convinced it will be any better than 2007. It looks nice, but that's about it.

Virtual Chatot May 19th, 2009 11:33 AM

I'll stick with iWork thanks :P

Rukario May 19th, 2009 12:19 PM

hmm.. not too many backend changes.. I mean after all, all the core apps pretty much work fine, so this is mainly a GUI update.

I'll stick to 2007 as well unless I can work another freebie from M$'s grip.

You can sign up for the technical preview there. I'm pretty interested in trying it out, Microsoft are pretty tops.

Yet Another generic censorship. Apple did it too.
I can still see screenshots on other sites.

That was too fast, Microsoft should release new Office in 2012.

I was more excited about 2007, so I think I'll stick with that. :\
