girls or boys???wth?
alright...as we know there are a lot of people in this forum, and when i mean a lot, i mean A LOT!
soo, sometimes when i what to do a trade or battle i will have to eventually scroll down the page to see if theres update, and in that time a read other peoples reply as well. some people have pokemon picture in their avatar or anime characters, but what i dont undestand is this: some people's got a girl anime character followed with maybe a fancy pink lil signiture saying "i love cats" or "im beautiful" or whatever, and then on the right hand sides it says they are males???? what?? -_- mistery... |
Maybe they just like that kind of stuff.
Lots of guys like anime girls. The whole username thing is a bit beyond me, but what can I say? I'm not judging anyone or telling them how they should personify themselves in a Pokemon forum. That's silly. |
I was gonna say that. Dx -- about the second line.
Turn off avatars and sigs if it really bothers you that much. |
i LOVE anime girls....cuz dey r pretty with big.....smiles:D.....but yeah i dont think that it is a big deal....who cares what they put in their names.....gender is only determined by whats down in between your....thoughts:D....ya know what i mean?
|
*shrugs* That's not so bad. Some people think they're cute, so wanna show off what they think is cute. A sig doesn't always have to represent YOU, but things you like. =p Its like if girls are allowed to have signatures of Naruto, or Ash, or Beyond *pokes own sig* Why can't boys have signatures of girl anime characters, or anything? Get it?
|
Pshh, I always use anime girls for my themes. So do a lot of guys...There shouldn't be anything wrong with that.
What exactly are you implying? |
Quote:
you are perfectly right, but cmon..if you are a boy show it lol say someone wants to socialize on this website, and there might be a user who attracts them, what if they go for it and then they discover that its actually a boy!!!i would be shocked and ill be like "omg, *puts bang on his head*" |
They show it when they have their gender set to Male right? XD
That should be enough. |
You also shouldn't judge a person by their avatar and signature anyway. -- It only partly reflects a person's personality.

I can't say much else than what's already been said, but a signature is the user's domain to show the world what he or she is interested in when making the signature. Some put eggs in it, some links to forums or websites, some internal links, some have nothing as a signature, etc.
Nothing stops a boy from putting in a fancy signature with lots of sparkles and cute things if the main thing in their banner can't be associated with anything else. Besides, can't you say the same thing about girls? I'm one, and I don't like fancy signatures with lots of sparkles AND cute things. At least not for my theme. I want nice themes, that have my favourite characters (who are most of the time males) in it. Preferably in a really cool way. XD Or, in my current theme, a combination of my fav characters and one of my favourite scenes. I have been called a 'he' before. Yes, long time ago, in TOA for example. XD I just told them kindly they had to add an "s" in front. In reality I almost exploded of rage >( But that didn't stop me from continuing to make themes that I liked. So why would someone else do so? Do what you like. :3 IF they want to make their gender public, they can do so in their profile. Like most people do, but on the other hand, you have those that don't and those that set the opposite gender, just for fun. It's their choice, let them be. |
Because it's fun to mess with your little pre-adolescent, puberty-controlled mind.
:3 |
You would hate Chris so bad.
What's wrong with having a feminine theme/name? Guys don't have to be muscle flexing, gun pumping, steroid chewing, bad boys if they don't want to. |
If you base your assumptions of people on their avatars and signatures, then you're going to end up missing out on some of the coolest people at PC. I know quite a few people that purposefully use confusing themes and even put the wrong gender just to mess with other members.
a good number of the brittany spears fans here are guys |
You have an avatar of Naruto, but I bet that you're not even nearly as awesome as he is.
What's wrong with being more in touch with your feminine side anyway? |
I think he's trying to say "Stop being so gay, males of the board" in such a way that he won't get banned.
|
Well, I'd certainly hope not. There's nothing wrong with gays, male or female. Hell, I usually have a whole mess of different characters in my sig. Once it was Brock, then it was Anabel, then it was Shinji, then the members of Ouran High School Host Club, and now I have Tamaki. I really have no idea what that says about my gender. Actually, I really don't know what this guy's implying. Because someone has girls in their sig it makes them a girl? O.o What? |
At least it's about a million times better than the gender changing nonsense that went on last time I was around PC actively. All the guys having their gender set as female and vice versa. *Sighs.* I still don't know what gender some members really are after that.
|
Maybe some people are animal-lovers. Or they just enjoy using female avatars. It's their personal opinion. Don't question it.
|
This often happens to me too. I'll be assuming someone is a girl based on name/signature and then I look at the thing in the upper right corner and it will say boy or nothing XD
But it doesn't really matter to me anyway =P |

I'm so sorry. Spoiler:

Meh, the avatars and signatures doesn't determine what the user's gender, it's determined when you get to know him/her.
|
Hahaha, the other day i was looking at that too,& was like wtf a dude? weird
|
I'm a boy and I think Aipom is KAWAII!, cute animes are epic and fancy clothes are awesome.
|
Why are boys being singled out here? Lots of girls use males in their sigs and avys. >>;

Anyway, two questions arise from what you see in their signature: 1. If they aren't gender bending and really are male, what makes you think that they can't like (or love) cats? 2. Some guys consider themselves beautiful, as in handsome, even if it isn't in the sense that you're thinking of. Besides, more than just guys do that... And even if that is the case, it makes me think that you've never heard of the term metrosexual before. As that could be a reasoning behind it as well. But nevertheless, I don't see why you should care or why it should be any of your business. :[ |
If you have a question about gender, why not look at the "Gender" tab over on the side.
If it doesn't state, either ask, or leave it as is. |

Damn, your right, ok.
Well....I tried to explain it in a lazy way, but... Yeah, so, people have many interests, so said people are entitled to do whatever they want in their sigs. Hey, we DO have quite feminine members here, too. :] And if you DO happen to fall for someone on this damn forum, and they DO happen to be male, just go with your feelings. It's not a bad thing being gay or bisexual, love is about feelings, not gender. :O |
HEY IF I PUT A DUAL GENDERED PERSON IN MY AVATAR/SIG, WHAT DOES THAT MAKE ME?
|
Quote:
anyway, you are all missing my point, what i really meant is, what if you go and talk with someone and you soon discover that its a dude? thats my real question im not trying to make you change your way to be, or create a new empire of men or showing myself as a steroid-chewing super muscular guy or whatever.. so chill. peace |

Why does it even matter if a guy has girls or 'girly stuff' in his theme? It's what he likes, big woop dee doo. What's more ridiculous is that you never hear this kind of crap when girls have manly themes. =/ |
Quote:
Yeah, when you think about it deeply, it is actually how you feel about a specific person. That said, I'm straight - just to remove any fog of confusion, lol. |

Internet is a really confusing place - that's all I can say.
You better watch your steps and think about liking someone before liking em'... XD |
There isn't a category in which if you are one gender, you have to like only these things and nothing else.
Everyone is different and everyone can like what ever they like. |
thx for aegis for creating the thread *pictures of you*
i didnt know that thread existed before, soo---> problem solved. |
If you end up falling for someone, you better know them well before making a hasty move, don't you think?
Seriously. Unless you have a crush on them because of their avatar/signature, and that's a whole different matter. |
I'm a guy. With guys in my signature. But, I think my signature looks a little girly (or at least "cutesy". But I didn't make it). So...what do you make of this case? XD
|
I've had a few girls in my themes (like now, for instance). I just switched from one that had Lain from Serial Experiments Lain, and I have like three Latias-based themes that I cycle through.
That said, I do agree that the female characters/pink text/sparkliness can get a bit confusing at times. Especially for people that don't display what gender they are. It's like "hey there...you." |
I know that on the internet some girls really don't want to be subjected to having millions of boys following their every move so they will have their gender set to male to stop that, while some boys will set their gender to female for who knows what reason(probably trying to get a few laughs). But to be honest, it's nearly easy to see who's a girl and who's a boy. Unless you're ShinjisLover than it is impossible to know

Personally, I don' care about people having people of the opposite gender in their sig. I really don't mind even if they are homosexual as long as they don't Spam about it. Really, is there too much problem in obeying the gender tab? You may not like confusion, that's why you made this. But it's THEIR personality. Changing that is something you may as well hope a Shiny Mew over. |

I have an animal in my sig, are you implying that makes me an animal?
Just because they have female characters in their theme, doesn't mean they are... Themes aren't a representation of who the person is, they're just pictures that the person likes... |
What I love about the internet is it makes everyone so bicurious and it's hilarious to see the 13-year-olds freaking out about it all the time.
So you end up liking someone who turns out to be the same gender as you. It's just a crush anyway so ignore it. If you liked them enough to have a crush on them, you'll probably like them as a friend all the same. Otherwise, make your move and hope they really are telling the truth. |
omg, guys get over it i just told you that the problem is solved...
can someone lock this thread please? thank you i learned xD |
Maybe we're just confused like that.
