The 'Pokemon Following You' Discussion Thread

I just went to Serebii and saw that they found info that you will be able to have ALL pokemon follow you, instead of just your starter. What do you guys thinks about that? And what pokemon would you have follow you? I'd have my trusty Umbreon following me :D

And what would it look like if a legendary could follow you o.O

By all i meant any pokemon lol, not ALL of em. (that'd be.........silly XD)

Lycaeus June 12th, 2009 6:06 AM

That sounds awesome! It's probably the Pokemon in the first slot. I'd have my Luxray or Quilava or Nidoking lol (:

Satoshi Ookami June 12th, 2009 6:07 AM

I think it's awesome idea!
Legendary? :D That'll be more awesome I can go with Arceus or Giratina or something else :D :D

blueblur155 June 12th, 2009 6:09 AM

actually, serebii confirms that all 493 pkmn will be able to follow u.

bobandbill June 12th, 2009 6:10 AM

There was an old thread for this... but it's old, and I think it'll be better to start anew with this thread (which should get discussion a-plenty) in this instance, given that we know know that all Pokemon CAN follow you. New info and all will lead to somewhat new discussion, and half-a-month old threads are...well, outdated now by this info. So... discuss away?

Anyway - I will be trying a number of Pokemon, most likely. Some for the awesome factor, (favourite Pokemon - heck, I can even have a Ludicolo XD), and some for the laughs (Magikarp and Wailord are just the beginning).

I think it'll be odd with some of those, and some of the legendary Pokemon as well... but ah well, don't mind this too much at all. Probably all Pokemon will remain the size of your character, I'd think...

Alec_ June 12th, 2009 6:11 AM

Water Pokemons that can't walk coulnd't follow you. I just think. it could follow you on the ocean. Also about the Legendary. I think they woulnd't also. It's too big ( Just exceptions from the Small Legendary Pokemons )... That's what my mind tells me. xD

~Fairytales.

Ryanniny June 12th, 2009 6:14 AM

having an arcanine follow me would be amazing, and a typhlosion, and all the eeveelutions would be pretty immense aswell.
i'd love to see raikou, entei or suicine following me, that'd be epic.

Giraffes? Giraffes! June 12th, 2009 6:15 AM

Well i'm neutral on this feature of the game. Like it's been mentioned that some pokemon can't walk, mainly water types (Gyarados, Magikarp, Seaking, Golden, etc) so i'm anxious to see how that is actually going to work. And if they keep the Pokemon the same height as the character that it going to be lame, because if they do do that then there is no point for the weighing/height section of the Pokedex.

Artemis June 12th, 2009 6:16 AM

The idea of having all the Pokémon being able to follow you over a certain selected few I think is a better suited idea for the game. Yes, it'll seem a little strange having some following us [like mentioned Magikarp, Wailord, the legenderies, etc], but at least it'll add in some humor to the game. Not to mention, it'll lessen the amount of complaints people may have about how they cannot have their favorite Pokémon able to follow them, but only a selected few or simply just the starters.

I like this feature nonetheless and it not only brings in great remanents of the original GSC, but also Pokémon Yellow too. Being able to talk to our Pokémon and see how they are feeling is another beneficial factor and it'll be amusing to see what a "God" Pokémon like Arceus will be feeling while following us. Though, for me, I'll more than likely have my favorite Pokémon following me around such as Pichu, Houndoom, and a few others. Then, of course I'll have the odd ones following me as well for the laughs and fun of the game.

Overall, a plus for the remakes and something I'll enjoy knowing we;ve finalyl got full confirmation about this factor seeing as how it was so highly speculated beforehand.

fenyx4 June 12th, 2009 6:17 AM

Just read this on Bulbanews...I got up and cheered!

If this feature of Pokemon following you is implemented for all 493 Pokemon, HG/SS will have a radical improvement over Pokemon. I mean, having your fully-evolved starter backing you at all times. (Blaziken for me (first-ever Starter) :t257: or Typhlosion for HG/SS :D :t157:)
Or even better, awesome legendaries like Lugia and Ho-Oh, or members of the Weather and Dimensional Trios, or even Arceus!
I can tell this simple feature (though trivial to some people) will be an awesome sight to behold.

I also want to see how amusing Wailord's overworld sprite will be! :t321:

Ryanniny June 12th, 2009 6:18 AM

they might just have the water pokemon "floating" ? :S
if you think about it, in the anime the water pokemon can be on land and stuff, so its kinda feasible
magikarp can just bounce along anyway, gyaradas.... not so much.

altaria221 June 12th, 2009 6:29 AM

LOL
if a pokemon followed you while you were surfing,
riding on Wailord while wailord is following you

Melodyfree June 12th, 2009 6:31 AM

YES.
I'm glad they aren't discriminating based on cuteness anymore. I want my Gardevoir perpetually following me around, damnit!

I can now safely call this the best game ever.
...But I still want my Heart OW.

i don't think they'll take up more than one square (not across anyway, along maybe) because if theres a path where theres only 1 square to get through you'd have to keep changing which pokemon was out of its ball
& i think they do differ in height, as the pichu was tiny, and the steelix towered over Gold.

Retro Bug June 12th, 2009 6:52 AM

I hope the "following" is optional. Because I don't want them following me until they're fully evolved! Then my trainer looks all cool with a Steelix behind him. Steelix looks awesome following you, so I have to say I'm changing my mind about this following aspect. (:

Mitchman June 12th, 2009 7:00 AM

Hmm I wonder if any water Pokemon would be the case for surfing. Doubt it but hey walking around Johto with a typhlosion is epic. Especially for the most humrous thing ever. Went knows what I am talking about...

Asztrik June 12th, 2009 7:06 AM

I thinks that's cool, a lot of Johto Pokemon seem like the types that would follow you. I just don't know about legendaries though 0.o

I will love, and abuse this new feature until I slowly rot away from existence. Imagine a world where a huge random monster follows you. :D

ckn June 12th, 2009 7:21 AM

this is the most awesome feature ever i cant wait to have my charizard or salamance following me. wait... wouldnt it be cool of instead of going to the menu and then clicking pokemon and all of that stuff to fly, surf, cut, headbutt or whatever you could just ask the pokemon following you if it ha one of those move at its disposal?!?! dat would be pretty cool eh? :D

Sweet Candace June 12th, 2009 7:26 AM

This sounds cool. It would be fun if a Pokemon like Wailord or the legendaries would follow you around. It would be very wierd, yet funny at the same time.

that would be sweeet!
and if your pokemon thats out of its ball is the one with like rock smash, when you use it, you could move out the way and the pokemon could smash the rock.

its been confirmed that all 493 pokemon can follow you, so you'll be able to do this once the games are out, no doubt people will make videos on youtube.

Chris The Nerd June 12th, 2009 7:36 AM

I wonder... if ditto follows you, would it transform into the last pokémon you encountered, or possibly gold himself? also, do you thing they will make a separate overworld sprite for pokémon with different forms?, (unown, deoxys, ect.)

They probably will make different overworld sprites, because it just wouldn't look right otherwise.

And I love this feature, I'm going to have to try this with a Magikarp XD

I'd presume Ditto wil be itself when it comes to following us. I doubt it'll transform to Gold as Ditto is based on transforming to other Pokémon and not people.

As for seperate forms, I'd expect that. Seeing as they've given the Notch Eared Pichu its own OW sprite, and the Pikachu-Colored Pichu its own OW sprite. Then, I'd expect other forms of Pokémon to be shown in their own OW sprite, such as the Rotom forms and all. However, as for a Shiny OW sprite following us, that is questionable as they may have only done it for the Pikachu-Colored Pichu, but you never know.

We can expect more on this later on I'm sure. Right now it is best to enjoy the feature, but as for keeping it optional I'm not sure. However, it does look like the starter follows you from the get go as soon as you choose it from Prof. Elm. All that leaves me with though, is whether or not Silver and the supporting role may have his/her starter, for the least, following them too? ...

did you mean silver? i think it would be bad-ass if silver's starter followed him around, just imagining him running upto me as i try to get into ilex forest with his croconaw (i choose cyndaquil 9/10 times) following after him :D.

Sorry, I had Gold on my mind for some reason. However, I did fix my mistake and I did mean Silver and the supporting role. It would be interesting to see them have their starter following them as well, but we'll see how that idea turns out for the most part.

it'd be awesome to see him with his "starter" following him!
a very good idea btw :)
i think Lance should have his dragonite following him when you meet up with him at the lake of rage & mahogany town.

Alxprit June 12th, 2009 8:09 AM

I want Latias following me around forever now!

This makes me 100% more excited for the game.

Retro Bug June 12th, 2009 8:10 AM

I hope they don't go overboard with this "following" Pokémon. Like having everyone have their Pokémon following them. It'll be just cool if it's just you, and as f l a s h said your Rival, and the supporting role. Other than that, please no.

Yuoaman June 12th, 2009 8:11 AM

i agree with you, but with the exceptions of Lance (i think his dragonite should be out kickin' ass) and Red (if he's included, in which case his pikachu should be next to him).

I can see like "main" people in the plot having the following Pokémon, but not everyone. Like the Gym Leaders perhaps could have their main Pokémon beside them. Or not.

World King June 12th, 2009 8:32 AM

Red with his Pikachu... that'll be a classic, if they even added Red in the first place. And I'll definitely try this out with (insert my favorite Pokémon here; oh, forget it: it's Lugia). Oh, the fun this awaits me... xD

And then unintentionally eating you whilst smiling due to its size (kidding :D)

This sounds kinda fun, and it is ok for me.
but it may suck for people who don't want any Pokémon following them. Plus, if it is the first Pokémon, on training sessions it may be annoying having a pokemon you don't want to out.

ReyRey-Pyon June 12th, 2009 8:49 AM

True. In that case, I hope it's optional. They could easily include an option for it in the options menu.

I have a feeling that the whole 'finding accessories' thing is gonna get annoying after a while.

I saw this earlier, i think it would be cool if when Surfing your shown to be riding the actual Pokémon that knows surf instead of something random like we usually have, with this announced i think this will be very possible.

kingofjokers June 12th, 2009 10:16 AM

Well this is interesting I cant wait to see how Pokemon that cant walk will follow you. Also giant Pokemon will they be shrunk down to be able to follow you? Will flying Pokemon fly or walk behind you? If they walk how will crobat walk? These are questions I cant wait to answer.

Yeah, I was talking about this earlier it would be a nice edition to the games if they do this. And the same thing with "Flying".

Squeegee Beckenheim June 12th, 2009 10:19 AM

I don't like this idea. I can't believe they are doing it this way. It was enough for me to have that Pikachu follow me around in Yellow. I really don't need all Pokemon following me in these games. This is a small thing, and wouldn't keep me from buying it though.

That is a lot of questions to be answered. However, my thought is that Pokémon like Magikarp will probably flop behind or aside of you. Pokémon that can fly I think may be portrayed like something in Pokémon Ranger. I can picture some water types floating besides you, such as the epic appearance of Wailord.

As for their size, I would say no more than one tile should be taken up. This is because, like mentioned before, to get through smaller areas. As for Crobat, I think that'll be a Pokémon found floating in the air next to you. Yep, there is a lot of different ways this can be done, but we'll see how it works out. I do agree though, this should be optional for some players as I know it'll get annoying for others at some time and point.

Åzurε June 12th, 2009 10:40 AM

Huh, One problem with the surfing/flying bit: what if the pokemon couldn't naturally learn the move? I'm sure surfing pikachu would be in there, but any event pokemon with a field move. Wouldn't that get kinda glitchy? or maybe it'd just kinda do a head-bobbing thing in the water? not to even begin on flight...

But, it would be freaking sweet if you could actually fly on rayquaza, instead of just hearing about it. :P

XxDawnfanxX June 12th, 2009 10:47 AM

So it is confirmed then? Hmm, very interesting. This will bring a lot of attention to the game and bring more fun. I can have my Weezing, Flareon or Chikorita follow me everywhere. :D The only thing I would find funny is a Goldeen following someone on land haha.

Detox June 12th, 2009 10:55 AM

I really cant wait to have metagross behind me all the time.

Ineffable~ June 12th, 2009 11:07 AM

How awesome is this? I've always wanted this ever since I lost my Pokémon Yellow. And all 493 Pokémon? When I saw this on Bulbapedia, I jumped out of my chair and STARTED PARTYIN'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HELLZ YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!

(Sorry, reeeeeeeaaaaly hyper.)

fenyx4 June 12th, 2009 11:11 AM

But having a ghost like Haunter or Gengar following you would be weird. They're sort of rumored to "eat people's souls" or something like that while you're walking around...

And Giratina would probably be the most likely to cut/strike/devour you when you're not looking, IMO. *shudders*

Still, this feature will be awesome and I hope Game Freak uses it in future games! :D

Ecks-Dee June 12th, 2009 11:16 AM

Even though their look is intimidating and their PokéDex entries say things of this sort, it doesn't necessarily mean it'll happen. I mean if you put one end of the rope together you'll realize Pokémon like Giratina and Gengar are ghosts, and with all ghosts comes scary stories meant to scare people.

We've seen tons of trainers and anime involving Gengar and such, but they never went to eat anyone or devour their souls. All the less though, when you mention Gengar, I've got to admit it'll be pretty cool to see it following me around.

I think this feature will allow me to catch more Pokémon just so I can see their OW sprite following me around.

XxDawnfanxX June 12th, 2009 11:20 AM

Plus I don't think that if its your Haunter or Gengar I don't think they'd eat your soul because they'd probably be close to you. Morty in the amine always had his Gengar out with no problems. None the less this feature should be interesting! I think though that some water pokemon that are pure fish won't be able to follow you on land.

Sweet Smoochum June 12th, 2009 11:45 AM

This is the coolest thing ever! I can have Lugia following me! XD I'm definitely getting these games now. Just so I can see the pokemon following me. This is so cool! LOL @ pic of Steelix. That's just awesome! XD

Pokemon I would like to see follow me...any! lol I might even get Pokemon I don't normally use just to see how it looks when it follows me. This is my incentive to get all the Pokemon for once. I want my level 90 Dragonite following me! That's it! I'm trading my Dragonite to this game. (It's now in Platinum originally from Leafgreen and it will be in my Heart Gold.)

destinedjagold June 12th, 2009 4:05 PM

man, and I thought it wasn't true, but it is! horay! :D
I can finally have a Sandslash follow me around. <3
but what about the big pokes like gyarados? o.O

legendaries would be funny to follow you all around though... xD
if it was real, a lot of trainers might try and steal it from you. :P

Xebelleon June 12th, 2009 4:18 PM

Looking forward to Haunter myself.

I wonder if there will be public opinion.
If I was some dude on a road and saw some chump with a Wailord rolling after him, I'd sure have more to say than: "WTF?"

Yeah, I know most of these "menace" Pokemon just have stories made up for the PokeDex and for folklore, though. It would still be interesting/creepy if something like this happened if a Gengar family member or Giratina followed you around... I mean, Giratina was said to have been banished for violence to the Distortion World, so even Arceus (presumably) doesn't like it, let alone any Pokemon. (I know the banishment could've been for Pokemon world safety, not necessarily for personal dislike of Giratina's behavior)

And just like seemingly close friends IRL, Pokemon still have the potential to turn on their Trainers even if they are close to you, whether by choice or external influence. That's why you always have to watch your back! :P

Anyway, I'm just going to wait to see this awesome feature in action. It would still be interesting to have different effects for different overworld Pokemon (i.e., Giratina exhibits violent behavior, Kecleon changing color with the environment). :D
But I realize that might be pushing things too far, since I anticipate HG/SS will have much more other content as well. Just an idea, though!

seeker June 12th, 2009 4:20 PM

Wow they're gonna have to make a lot of OW sprites!
Good news for DS rom hackers in the future i guess!
I'm thinking it could weither turn out lame... Or AWSOME!
I mean what if theres a tight sqeeze and you've gotta Get Snorlax through xD
You know like a Gate or something??
Anyways i'm Really rather anxious to see how this pans out because it seems a bit 'Farfetched' to me xD

Pokedra June 12th, 2009 4:36 PM

That's one awesome feature, I'll be having a Kingdra behind me and maybe a Salamence.

We've seen tons of trainers and anime involving Gengar and such, but they never went to eat anyone or devour their souls. All the less though, when you mention Gengar, I've got to admit it'll be pretty cool to see it following me around.

We haven't seen Gengar devour any souls because it's a little kids show.
If it weren't, no doubt we'd see Umbreon jumping from shadows and killing a couple of Stantlers for dinner.

But on that note, what if I had one of the lake pixies following me? D:

"Durr, what was I doin? OH HAY THAR LIL YELLER THING Y UR EYES CLOSED LOL SQUINTY"

"you ask why i cannot feel. well. i dont know. but your jokes were never funny. you fail at joking. go jump off a cliff. here i'll jump with you. :|"

"WHAT. That's a half-level higher than me! F$^@ this s#^), I'm going home."

Although really, does Azelf do anything? I always just kind of assumed it sapped your willpower or something.

I mean what if theres a tight sqeeze and you've gotta Get Snorlax through xD
You know like a Gate or something??
Anyways i'm Really rather anxious to see how this pans out because it seems a bit 'Farfetched' to me xD

My guess is that almost all the OW sprites for the Pokémon would be completed by now. However, as for the tight squeeze, my guess is that no Pokémon OW sprite will take up more than one square tile. For example, they've shown Steelix, which is a massive Pokémon, but it still fits in one tile of the game and seems to look really good. As for the other Pokémon and how it'll work, I'm not sure. With Pokémon though, I would think they'll find a way of working it all out.

You are right though, this feature can turn out to be extrememly awesome or be an epic failure for some. For me, as of now, it is all turning well enough and has still kept me on the edge of my seat. I can still picture how funny it'll be with some Pokémon following us in their OW sprite though/

Oh i haven't seen the pic of Steelix yet but i'd imagine tall skinny pokemon like him and onix and what not are gonna be easier than the likes of Something huge like Wailord!!
I mean fitting some pokemon into one tile is a bit crazy... They'd really have to ignore the pokedex comparing sizes abd just make them fit!
I hope its good though! I'm sure there'll be some awsome looking one and some dumb looking ones O.o I can also see a lot of easter eggs coming!! Like i dunno certain pokemon and certain places and events!!

wnxvale June 12th, 2009 5:07 PM

i was hoping something like this was going to come back since yellow's days...how freakin cool is a typhlosion following you around gonna be???

Asztrik June 12th, 2009 5:12 PM

What about fish Pokemon? How are they suppose to follow you? o.0

Ashi June 12th, 2009 6:22 PM

I just read this myself, gosh I'm SO excited for this game more then ever! I'll be sure to have my mareep/ampharos following me at all times. <3

Arle Kaa-kun June 12th, 2009 6:24 PM

By "Any Pokémon", even a freaking Wailord? That would be awesome! XD

I would expect some fish Pokémon to either flop around while following you or float in the air, such as a Wailord might. It'll be an interesting aspect in the game to see how this works though.

Yes, even a Wailord seeing as it was stated all 463 Pokémon have the ability to tag along behind or beside us. Not to mention the bonus of getting extra items, such as berries or accessories. This kind of makes up for when you do not have a Pokémon on your team with the "Pick Up" ability.

I'm pretty sure it'll only be one Pokémon at a time that follows you, but meh we can dream.

This is actually a good question. It is shown that the event Pikachu-Colored Pichu is shown as a shiny in its OW Sprite. However, seeing as it is an event type Pokémon I wouldn't know if it'll only be exclusive to that one Pichu and the Notch-Eared Pichu or if it'll apply to all shinies overall. We'd either have to get more news on this later or test it out ourselves when we all purchase the game. It may be probable that they may allow it, seeing as the Red Gyarados is a alternate color from its orignal counterpart and is an important aspect to the game.

hanhyejinaddikt June 12th, 2009 7:00 PM

That'll be cool. Imagine Kyogre toddling behind you while you kick your rival's butt. ;)

nibbsy7 June 12th, 2009 7:14 PM

Awesome! I'd have a Swinub follow me around, i love Swinub!

lenzxyz June 12th, 2009 7:16 PM

I can't imagine how Snorlax will follow you when you are entering the cute small door of the pokemon center. Lol

Åzurε June 12th, 2009 8:10 PM

Well, this means it's possible to have a walk-in daycare. :D yay!

...wow. Bad brain. Ah, well.

Shem June 12th, 2009 8:49 PM

I'll have Wailord behind me at all times ^.^

this is cool though, because at least you get to pick the pokemon whose following you constantly. ( I really hope you can turn this feature off)

Astinus June 12th, 2009 11:21 PM

I'm really glad to hear that all Pokemon will be allowed to follow the trainer. Better than how it was in D/P, when only the "cute" Pokemon could walk behind the trainer, and it was a set few Pokemon whose OW sprite was already in the game elsewhere. But with all 493 Pokemon having OW sprites for this, the "forgotten" Pokemon can be used.

So I'm definitely looking forward to having a Farfetch'd follow me.

And it will be interesting to see how those Water Pokemon will be handled. On land (as shown in the anime, afaik), they just flop around. It will be amusing to see it also happen in the games.

Also will be interesting to see how the surfing and flying sprites will be handled. So far, we can only speculate on whether the general blob-bird for Fly and the fish for Surf will still be used, or if the game will recognize which Pokemon is using the move more than it already does.

Houndoom88 June 12th, 2009 11:26 PM

my favourite pokemon, froslass would be my partner

Ryanniny June 12th, 2009 11:54 PM

i can't wait to have my beloved mamoswine following me 8)

Arle Kaa-kun June 13th, 2009 12:00 AM

OK. Should I put comments with random stuff with the Pokémon?
1. Any Starter: ...Fwee! Let's run like the wind! ^w^
2. Pikachu: Wii! I'm playing Pokémon Yellow! (Lulz)
3. Any other Pokémon: ...desu! (No comment)
4. Fish that can't walk: Lulz. How does it even survive?
5. Any Legendary: Man, what an expert!
6. Large Pokémon: Is it even possible for them to be in a house?
7. Arceusor any of the Dragon Trio: For the love of Arceus, how'd he/she catch Arceus!?
8. Wailord: Oh god! This really freaking huge Pokémon! Is it even possible for it to fit in a town!?

the arceus can be obtained from a 12th movie event ;) so its pretty feasible.

Late June 13th, 2009 1:42 AM

My Typhlosion will follow me it's sure. How big Wailord is? Must test that too :D I like this idea and you don't have to ask from anybody how does my pokémon feel. I can just watch if it's happy and ready to evolve.

Houndoom88 June 13th, 2009 1:46 AM

I think that they will minimize every Pokemon in order to fit in one space

Cheesymitten June 13th, 2009 1:48 AM

Empoleon,
Water pokemon could maybe swim while you're using surf maybe?
That would be good :D

Pan!ko June 13th, 2009 1:52 AM

Quilava. But i might change after a while into ampharos, togetic, umbreon... i would try out all XD

TERRA#493 June 13th, 2009 2:59 AM

I bet, that this is fake. It should be enough, when the chosen starter follows you, so the starters have a small more important role by the side. Okay, and Pikachu could follow you probably, as the (most annoying) mascot of Pokémon.

PS: "OMG... i got Wailord now, it should follow me from now on!!". Yea.. oO"

Steelix the second biggest Pokemon wants to say hi from its one tile size. But then again I would love a wailord like this:

This couldn't be fake, I'm sorry. It is viable information coming from an official Japanese magezine, Coro Coro. It has been confirmed on another site, Serebii who confedentally states all 493 Pokémon can follow us. However, there may be some specific places and times where our Pokémon cannot follow is.

Might I add, that it'll be a funny sight to see us riding the bike with our following Pokémon quickly rushing behind it. Though, I would think at a time like that is when our Pokémon may be put back in its ball, but we'll see.

Also, yes a Pokémon like Wailors can be fit into a one tile space. I wouldn't consider it awful as we haven't seen an image with it like that as yet. However, in FireRed and LeafGreen they made Snorlax's OW fit perfectly well outside and if they can do a good job on that i nthe GBS games, then I'd think it'll work out fine for these remakes on teh DS/DSi. Not to mention, as shown in the recen scans, Steelix a large Pokémon looks very well done in its OW sprite to follow the main heroine.

Lol I could just picture Magikarp flopping around behind me. lol ^_^ I, too, thought about the possibility of being able to see the flying Pokemon use fly or water pokemon/snorlax/furret etc..use Surf instead of the silhouette when I first found out that any Pokemon can follow. Farfetch'd is cool. (It's my flying type in Silver.)

I was thinking the same exact thing when I heard the news. XD

My brother wants to see Suicune and Wailord to follow him. lol)

I think this feature will give me an incentive to actually capture all the Pokemon and see how they look when they follow me. ^_^

Åzurε June 13th, 2009 5:14 AM

O.O you're right. Usually I'll just breed battlers, but now I might actually want to catch them all. Excitement!

I bet Mew or Jirachi would look awesome. (speaking of which, I wonder what that Jirachi bit is...)

This'll also make it easier on webcomic makers (assuming people still do that. xD)

Mitchman June 13th, 2009 5:26 AM

In all my hype for the games I forgot one potentially awesome thing I cannot wait for. FLYGON! Trapinch better be a pokeradar Pokemon or available in some way cause I really want flygon behind me.

derozio June 13th, 2009 6:23 AM

I would just like to see a scizor follow me as I think scizor is too cool to be in its pokeball. Hurray Scizor!!!!

Jαcκςση June 13th, 2009 7:52 AM

I think this is going to be awesome. I'm not sure if someone already said it, but I would assume the legendaries would be about the size of Steelix or a little bigger. Steelix was quite a bit larger than Gold actually.

Ryanniny June 13th, 2009 8:12 AM

having the legenadary dogs following me will be sweet :D

Kumata June 13th, 2009 9:03 AM

I can't wait to see a Magikarp flopping patheically along behind me... =P

silvanarrow June 13th, 2009 10:07 AM

I'll probably have my Cyndaquil/Quilava/Typhlosion following me most of the time, but I'd also love to see Lugia flying behind me too. Heck, I'll try as many as possible just for kicks but then stick with a select few. Also, I'm wondering how you pick which Pokemon follows you. I hope it's not just the first one in your lineup. I think you should be able to choose that separately.

someone translated the scans and i think it said something along the lines of "the first pokemon in your party follows you out of its pokeball"
so i think this is the case.
