Whoops @[email protected]

Anyway, I was overlooking some of the game pictures on Serebii. I believe I found Pikachu's new sprite for the game, and might I add, I don't really like it x_x.

http://serebii.net/heartgoldsoulsilver/pics.shtml

If you follow the link, you'll enter serebii's HGSS game images. Now, look for "Selecting Pikachu to send to the PokéWalker." It is the ninth link before last, and you'll notice Pikachu's new game sprite. I don't know what they were thinking, but Platinum's Sprite with Pikachu is a lot better in my opinion.

Anyway, it does give us a glimpse at how we'll be transporting one Pokémon from the game to enter the PokéWalker. It looks simple enough to understand and seeing as you need this new device to access Jirachi's event location in the game, then I might presume the PokéWalker may just hit outside of Japan as well.

No clue as yet, seeing as not much information is given about it. However, there are different thoughts about it, but I wouldn't expect any news until later on in future scans. Some think it may be a new area for the Battle Frontier, while others presume it may be a new park or Safari for Johto. We'll see what it turns out to be later down the line though.

You mean upper right?

Looks like it, althoug it isn't much of a tower with the Tin Tower right there.

Samme! June 15th, 2009 7:28 AM

Oops XD, yeah i meant upper right..

I hope that next week they will release the actual game play map.

Clover Cat June 15th, 2009 7:28 AM

Ah yes, Pikachu's new sprite...I don't like it. >.> I agree with you, flash, D/P/Pt were much better then this one.

But from the other pictures we can see the new girl...and the legendaries?! Oh wow, using 3D for their appearances, that's a new feature. Me like. ^^ And the fact that pokemon can follow other trainers is a nice touch. I wonder if this means you'll be able to see your rival's pokemon following him around? XD

Yes. You can see a lot of things here: Mt. Silver (high snowy mountain), Violet City's north (which is the Sprout Tower you mentioned), two routes, and Mahogany Town.

I thought that Mountain was Ice Path... o_O

i hate nintendo for releasing all these picture
it makes me so impatient for these games X___x
( i love nintendo really, and gamr ferak (L))
i'm so tempted to get a japanese import of this... its how impatient i am ;(
they just look incredible, and i hadn't noticed the changes on the gym buildings, i like that subtle touch :)
i wish the pokecenters would change slightly in looks from town to town though
cos in my mind, mahogany's PC would be like a log cabin :)
anyway these games look even better than the originals ;)
and a MASSIVE improvement from DPPt
though, i have a feeling the area west of Cianwood is the battle fronteir, because what else could take up such a huge area?!
and i have to agree that i think the new tower in goldenrod is gonna be a GTS.
either that or a contest hall.
ROLL ON NEXT YEAR :D

Ryanniny June 15th, 2009 7:36 AM

i like pikachu's new sprite :(
i think it looks cheeky :D & like its waving
i want to see more in-game sprites though

The Roshi June 15th, 2009 7:37 AM

Wow this is simply stunning. I never really got into the artsy pictures in previous games. But ecruteak seriously looked amazing! One guy talked about the clouds covering up the Battle Frontier, so what's that new area in Cianwood? I guess it doesn't make sense that cianwood would host a battle frontier anyways. Maybe it's like a new facility? Who knows, but this game seriously looks like the best pokemon game ever.

I think these producers are smart though. They turned GSC into a legacy by making is so expansive and innovative, number 1. And number 2, they never remade it when some people (like me) were expecting them to -- in gen III. Cap it by making not only the region, but it's pokemon some what elusive and you have a legend!

I fell for it, and I can't wait to get this game @[email protected]!

EDIT: Is that one screenshot saying we can now use the bottom screen for the pokemon boxes and menus?

Nope. Look on the Johto map on the "story" page (if you can find it) and see what it corresponds to.

Ice Path is a standard cave in a standard mountain range.

I see, I just never knew Mt. Silver was icy. Thanks. Also Mt. Mortar seems small.

Mitchman June 15th, 2009 7:38 AM

The new area next to Cianwood City seems to be human made and all. Possibly evolution area for the different stuff like the moss rock ice rock magnetic field and such?

Britney's Circus June 15th, 2009 7:53 AM

Any Pokemon can follow you then!, Jigglypuff is going to follow me!!!

ah yeah
that'd be really cool!
either that or they'll just include these at random points in the story
Moss rock in ilex forest, electric field in mt mortar, and icy rock in ice cave. (i think thats its name)
and i can't think of the other specific ones?

jakeandhissuperdogsam!! June 15th, 2009 8:11 AM

Blantantly Obviously Pal Park

I'm sorry, but how can nobody else notice this? What else do we know (from Diamond/Pearl/Platinum) that has six areas of different terrain. Yes. The Pal Park. And is that a desert above Ecruteak?

Mitchman June 15th, 2009 8:14 AM

If I had a dime for everytime the Enju Trees were called a desert or orange mist today I would be rich.

billi1000 June 15th, 2009 9:02 AM

now thats some thing we can use as a news source, hopefully it will update regularly, this way we wont have to wait for corocoro to come out or pokemon sunday to air to get he good peices of info, about the sprites, ya well 2 new sprites in clear resolution came out (pikachu, mareep) well just hope we can compile a reasonable amount of sprites before the games are released in september, well ya it seems there's a new tower in Goldenrod, just imagine wat it could be...

Yaminokame can you translate?

.inLOVE June 15th, 2009 9:36 AM

That new bag is nice. It's refreshing and new, and 3D, which I LOVE.

altaria221 June 15th, 2009 9:37 AM

Look to the left of Cianwood and do you see an area resembling a battle frontier of sorts?

Jorah June 15th, 2009 9:38 AM

The artwork for Ecruteak looks so beautiful! It's really amazing. And it's great that we can finally use the touchscreen for the menu, I find it pretty annoying having to use the buttons now. Pikachu's sprite looks all right, it looks cute but it looks a bit boring, too. It kind of makes it look a bit generic.

Yeah, that's right ^^ For some reason, the people who translate/edit the text decided to change and add "Poke" to a lot of words when they weren't like that in Japanese haha. Not that it really matters.

Yeah, they are really trying to make the new 3D appearance come to the DS. I would say it needs some more work on, but seeing it is a first try to portray the character and his/her bag in the 3D style, it is pretty good. I forsee this being extended to future Pokémon games as well. Almost everything about this game however is very refreshing and all so new compared to the original. Even though it is different, it hasn't altered the storyline which is a plus.

It is hard to see, as it is being overshadowed by a large cloud. Like said, something that was done to the Platinum Map when the Battle Frontier was coming, but we'll see what it ends up turning into. It makes me wonder though, if it is a new Battle Frontier will it be the same as Platinum or will it be its own. If it is the same as Platinum it'll be kind of odd seeing as Johto and Sinnoh run at the same timeline and people really cannot be in two places at the same time.

You make a good point. Looking back at DPPt and seeing this now, it makes the buttons look old fashioned in a way. I mean, right now, it looks a little confusing on how it may all be used, but still, it is all so new and neat looking that it makes you think how much better suited it is.

Mitchman June 15th, 2009 10:06 AM

If a frontier were to be added, next to Olivine is the most logical area and the cloud being there supports that theory.

Kyledove June 15th, 2009 10:12 AM

How come the girl has a marill following her? Surely it should be [Totodile]? I'll be really sad if the third starter doesn't get used again! poor lonely pokeball.

Ineffable~ June 15th, 2009 10:12 AM

Holy crap, I almost peed myself when I saw this!!!!!! (But I didn't. That's the important thing.)
Let's speculate about Johto here... The area north and west of Cianwood City... everyone thinks it's a Battle Frontier, but it may be something much more sinister... As for that mist there, it most likely is the true Battle Frontier. And the tower to west of Goldenrod? Hard to tell, really. Maybe a Battle Tower (hope not, as I want a Frontier), maybe the new Radio Tower, maybe a tower to catch another legendary (?), maybe contests, maybe something brand new! :o And... yeah... I AM ECSTATIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Samme! June 15th, 2009 10:13 AM

I'm still puzzled about what the area to the left of Cianwood is...? It doesn't look like it would be a battle frontier because you can't see any prominent buildings... Do you think it could be like a Safari Zone of some sorts? It looks as if it has different types of land split up into 6 sections......... And then there are those 2 parallel rivers......
