Meditation

Any of you guys practice it? Ive personally been meditating for a couple of years now. It's like crack once you get good at it! If you do meditate, have you had any cool experiences with it?

Sal Kar June 17th, 2009 9:33 PM

Pfft,
I lack the mental patience for meditation.
Why sit and think when you could be doing something productive?
Never delay the wheels and cogs of life,
or eventually it'll catch up to you.

Timbjerr June 17th, 2009 9:40 PM

It's not meditation in the traditional sense, but I do make sure to take a few minutes before going to sleep every night to reflect on my day, how my life is going, and where I need to be five years from now, and ask God for the patience and guidance to get me there...

...it probably sounds silly, but that's what's keeping me sane and not snapping mentally every time I face a minor setback heading towards my goals...

I have had to do meditation in theatre which has been very helpful. Shedding off yourself to become in touch with a blank slate almost to insert another character into. To become another character. Very fun.

I also meditate while I pray sometimes which is a good way to focus.

I have tired it once but got bored and it wasn't really for me! XD

Giraffles <3 June 18th, 2009 8:25 AM

I can't do something like that, it's just not something i'm interested in really :3.

Dogboy2709 June 18th, 2009 10:51 AM

I try it every now and then...but i just can't find the right technique of it for me. there are many different techniques of meditations

I think you meant competence. Meditation can imrove immune function, mood, circulation, etc. Basically everything physiological! It also makes your brain use acetylcholine more efficiently... Making your reflexes better:) How is making an invesment in yourself non-productive? Like us playing Pokemon is so much better haha. Plus it's not thinking... It's a virtually opposite state of brain function.

I hear you man. It is actually kinda a hard thing to get into. You get bored, or restless when you first start. Lol. I would say keep searching! It's actually cool once you get good. It's like being behind time once you become learned. Not that I am some zen master or anything, but ive definitely been getting better with practice. I do a single syllable mantra meditation. Simple- but effective.

I've attempted a few times, it's supposed to help with certain magickal practices (if like me, you believe that sort of thing) but my house is so frickin' noisy I always get disturbed.

Yamikarasu June 19th, 2009 1:07 PM

Nah, I lack the discipline/attention span to meditate. I take naps occasionally, if that counts?

*Nayz* June 19th, 2009 1:26 PM

I did at one point but didn't stick with it. would probably do me some good to start back up

ShadowLeader June 19th, 2009 5:59 PM

Not really....I like to relax....but im not someone who really enjoys the quite...so its not really my thing..

幕之内 一歩 June 19th, 2009 8:30 PM

I do meditate actually. It greatly helps getting ready for a match (boxing) and getting your mind in the game. I highly recommend it.

Pokeyomom June 20th, 2009 10:31 AM

Cool man! Yeah it can really help with anything. After I underwent a minor surgery a few years back it helped so much to recover.

helix June 20th, 2009 10:55 AM

I find meditation very comforting. It's a moment of introspection for a person- something I believe we should all enjoy more often than we do. One can acquire wisdom and understanding from it, after all.

Very often, I 'meditate' anywhere and everywhere by simply blanking out where I am, usually somewhere comfortable, and simply processing things. Doing that has done everything from saved me from going crazy under stress to allowing me to uncover some otherwise hidden truths. I suppose it's safe to say it's done a lot for my life.

jasonresno June 20th, 2009 11:27 AM

I'd love to get into it but I think I fall too squarely where most people do: I'm too busy. Between working and other life activities I can just not find the time.

But I'd love to learn how.

Saltare. June 21st, 2009 6:50 AM

I do not have the attention span to meditate. That is why I use my time WISELY. Now, if you'll excuse me*gets lighter and smoke bomb* I have to go meet up with my friends...

That's the beauty of meditation really. You don't need a lot of time to do it, just five minutes. Maybe before you go to bed, try to just clear your mind and relax. Might even help you sleep better. :)

Britney's Circus June 21st, 2009 12:41 PM

I'll try it before i go bed for 10 minutes.

Saltare. June 21st, 2009 2:07 PM

I tried it today...I got so bored I had to get back to being loud.

I've done meditation with the Wii Fit thingy...it's really hard!

Operator3 June 21st, 2009 5:16 PM

Ugh, I tried but I didn't even leave the ground!

Not even by a little!!

.little monster July 7th, 2009 4:38 PM

I tried it before, I felt no different than when I was doing something else though. Not bored, just..average.

~*!*~Tatsujin Gosuto~*!*~ July 8th, 2009 9:26 AM

I've also tried it because I though it looked cool and that it would actually work, I couldn't sit there with my legs folded and clear my mind, I found it very funny so i just quit
