I'm a girl and used Lucas in Pokemon Pearl and Platinum and Dawn in Diamond. I'm not a big fan of Dawn so I didn't want to keep choosing her. Only did it so she could have her beloved Piplup....

In Pokemon Emerald I played as Brendan and Pokemon LeafGreen I played as Red. All the old games I didn't have a choice and with the upcoming release of HG/SS I'm going to use the male Gold..or his anime name known as Jimmy

Subsmash June 26th, 2009 4:26 PM

Nope, although I admit Lucas' hat looks awkward.

SylentEcho June 26th, 2009 4:28 PM

I don't know why, but I've never played as the girl in any of the games.

Subsmash June 26th, 2009 4:38 PM

Nope, although I admit Lucas' hat looks awkward.

The guy, erm, looked like a f*g, so I chose the girl.
In both times I played the game.
XDD;

Patatas Fritas June 27th, 2009 12:29 AM

I played as the girl, I play as the girl in all the games where you can, even if I hate the girl, or what she looks like.

joelogs June 27th, 2009 12:34 AM

i usually play first as male on one version and then female in the other one. if there's a third version like the platinum i go back to play as a male.

Archer June 27th, 2009 12:53 AM

Uh, no? I'm quite happy playing as a male and don't see the point in playing as the opposite gender. And guys, I can't see how you get infatuated with anime characters enough to pick them.

Thankyou for your time.

Since I was born a female and going to die as one, I chose the female Dawn (even though I can't stand their hats -.-" )

yes i lost a bet with my sister

CHG-Swampert June 27th, 2009 2:07 PM

Eh, sometimes. I like playing either way xD

Glaceon_ June 27th, 2009 8:09 PM

A very good friend of mine constantly uses female characters in most of the games they play where the gender of the character can be selected. Such is the case with their selection of character for their play through of Pokemon Platinum when they claimed their copy of it. He also knows a number of other people who also use the female character in their games.

Taemin June 27th, 2009 8:16 PM

I'm female ( Yeah, totally. :x ), and in-game, I normally stick with the female characters. With the exception being Pokemon Ruby, where I played as Brendan, because he was awesome. In Emerald I did use May, though.

& I have yet to play as Lucas in any of the Sinnoh games, since I'm not fond of his character design.

Xebelleon June 27th, 2009 8:24 PM

I did previously for Diamond & Pearl Versions. But I did some reset stuff as I am working on cutting back on DS possession. Owning three DS is excessive.
I'll likely do some of that trade-it stuff at that freaky mall in my city where an EB Games is just upstairs from GameStop.

Now, my game versions are boy outside Diamond. I may pick up a secondary Platinum game for when I get that blue DSi that I want.

Haha pretty much the same reason I played as the female in Platinum.

Lucas looks like he's dressed for some kinda semi-queer disco, not a Pokemon journey. I know, I know, the female is in a mini-skirt in a snowy cold region. She doesn't look exactly ready for a Pokemon journey either. Oh well.

Turke June 30th, 2009 12:44 AM

Yeah, because it was on my sisters save file.

extramaster July 2nd, 2009 12:01 AM

No

Playing as a girl in pokemon when you are a boy is just gay (no offence to gay people)

Leyt July 2nd, 2009 3:58 AM

I prefer to play as the male characters for immersion reasons, really. 'Tis why I don't create females on MMOs, or anything like that. Perhaps it's a bit strange, but I tend to see the in-game character as myself. Thus, the female gender can't particularly work with my vision.

groudonlover July 2nd, 2009 4:13 AM

In DP Lucas looks like an idiot with a too big hat, in Platinum he looks less like an idiot, but still has a huge hat.
I used Dawn in Pearl, before it got stolen, and used Lucas in Platinum.

Corvus of the Black Night July 2nd, 2009 5:16 AM

<-- lol female

Anyhow, I tend to play as the character I prefer more rather than the one that more corresponds with my gender. I think for nostalgic reasons when I get Heartgold I will play as Gold and not "Miss Mario Cupcakeshine".

z4pd0s July 2nd, 2009 11:39 AM

haha i was going to start as the female character, and did until the first gym, but then I just restarted. it kind of felt weird playing as a girl (i don't mean that offensively)

Jasonpower July 2nd, 2009 12:09 PM

i never been a girl in d/p/plat because i don't like to be someone i'm not :tired:

MLU July 2nd, 2009 3:30 PM

I was tempted to.. Lol. But, yeah I picked boiii!

But now I'm the male character.

I originally chose Lucas, but then I used an Action Replay code to turn Lucas female. My action replay busted, and my character is stuck as a female, so technically, yes.
