Your toughest moments in Pokemon?
So I was playing a hack (Electric Yellow) and my Pikachu learned Iron tail at lvl. 11. I was like, "YES! No longer do I have to train a caterpie into a butterfree just to beat Brock." This got me thinking about the toughest moments I had in Pokemon...
- Beating Brock with Pikachu/Charmander (having to evlove a caterpie) - Trying to take down Whitney with Quilava (Milktank rollout -_-) - Those switches underneath Goldenrod City What were your toughest moments? (Can someone move this to the right section) |
Well the top 2 events that easily stick out in my mind are:
-Going through Rock Cave (this was before I found out about flash) -Pokemon Item Hunting (you teach a pokemon Thief,Covet, or Trick and begin hunting for an item a wild pokemon holds) |
Shiny Pokemon hunting...took me 3 months :'(
|
The damn battle Factory in Emerald. Both of the Pokemon were low in health and the stupid Glalie was going to KO my Fearow with Blizzard but it missed and then I KOed it
:t354:TG |
Glitch hunting on R&B. I never found anything other than Missingno and 'M and consider it a huge waste of my childhood.

Took ridiculously long to do to the point where I often would just give up. |
Getting all of the Battle Frontier symbols in Emerald. That took a LONG time.
|
I remember when I tried to find Missingno on my Yellow. I think I searched for like 2 months and then I found out that it was only on Blue Version ._.
Also, that place in the Battle Frontier that was shaped like a Seviper, I could never get the Gold Symbol or whatever it is called. |
I'd say that the Battle Factory's pretty tough. And going through Sapphire with all-normal types (wasn't hard 'til now. Tate & Liza sums it up nicely).
|
Probably collecting all the Battle Frontier symbols in Emerald. It just takes so much time, and you have to be pretty good to get through it all.
|
I think the toughest point was getting to Wallace in Sootopolis Gym. (Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald)
Until I figured it out of course..... I also had a very tough time going through Diglett's Cave in LeafGreen (I never played FireRed). They prevent you from running....once I caught a Dugtrio I used an Escape rope.... |
Trying to beat a Blissey in Fire red with a Blastoise that only had bite. The battle took over half an hour!
|
-Trying to beat the first of ELite 4 with an high lv graveler and low levels others poke, Graveler DONT HAVE sp def e_e
|
Can I just say....Battle Frontier symbols?
I actually never managed to get all of them.....;__; |
My last symbol at the Battle Frontier, the spirits simbol, where I had only Gyarados left and he took out Suicune and Snorlax, I was so happy, it was my hardest battle ever...:D
|
-Switches underneath Goldenrod ^^
-Clair. -Norman. -Getting surf in R/S/E. -Getting through victory Road in FireRed. -The Hoenn Elite Four. There are so many things I suck at in these games. |
Finding Capt. Stern in Slateport in Emerald (later found out my game was knackered, after a year of being called stupid by people)
Hoenn Victory Road Hoenn Champion (wailord just absorbs my thunderbolts, didn't know ludicolo's weaknesses) The sea in Hoenn, coz its too damn big i got lost looking for ever grande, ended up in lilycove. leaf green (compared to emerald and diamond, this was rock hard) |
Hoenn Elite Four.
Beat them with the smallest amount of red in the health bar possible. First time around of course. |
Beating my Fire Red rival at Nugget bridge with only a level 21 Ivysaur.
|
brock was always such a hassle, i restart my games alot and 2 of the most memorable ones were of beating brock with a rattata in in the original red version and with pikachu in fire red, i was amazed of the power of these pokemons
|
Catching Ho-Oh before I got the masterball in Pokemon Silver. Getting through the tower was hell alone. It took me well over fifty tries to catch it.
|
Beating Lt Surge with a low level sandslash in blue version, none of raichu's attacks where effecting it, but I was only doing 1 damage... thank god for ethers!
|
Well, a couple that i remember are...
-Recently Beating Erika in Fr/Lg. I used a pidgeotto and KO'd all of her pokemon except vileplume, And that retarded flower used stun spore, over and over on each of my pokemon... I finnaly Ko'd it with a lucky Ariel Ace. -Beating Roark in D/P. I was a newbie to pokemon at the time, but this was insane! I had a chimchar, starly, geodude, and shinx, so it wasn't easy... I lost Four times to his stupid pokemon before I did a little extra training with chimchar so it could evolve and use mach punch. :) It was easy from there! |
tbh none. Pokemon games are easy.. i mean once you understand everything about Pokemon.
|
When i defeated Brock with my charmander with 10 hp
|
When I beat the elite four with only my sandslash left, then finding out I had to face my rival.
|
my very first time playing pokemon blue version i started with bulbasaur
i made it to the Elite Four with Venusaur being my highest....at 37 idk how i did it....but it took my older brother (who played red) to trade me a Raichu caught in Cerulean Cave with basic moves and given mega punch. i then ran out of mega punches and had to give it submission just to beat rhydon =\ |
the elite four on emerald AAAAAAAHHHHHHH! SO ANOYING!
|
1.Switches under glodenrod city
2.Beating ash 3.Catching dugtrio to beat Lt surge. cathing rayquaza and kyorge with ultra ball. |
1. Switches under Goldenrod
2. Second rival battle with Brendan in Sapphire (Marshstomp was ass) 3. Beating Red's Snorlax (It was a BEAST) That's all I can think of at the moment. |
Defeating Lucian's Bronzorg with my under leveled team.
Defeating Ash's Snorlax, which pretty much owns my entire Crystal team. The rest of his team is a joke. |
-trying to beat Drake with only 3 pokes, none with a ice move and no revivies left!
-beating red on stadium 2....that was the best challenge ever! -trying to catch a dratini in LF.....god i hate it! |
Cathing Giratina!! xD
Lol I used a day to catch it, soft reseting all the time. at the end of the day I just decided to throw a master ball!!! x) I find it impossible to catch giratine -.- aaa and Getting a wifi team, this is taking forever!!! xD Still havn't managed to get a team. I might be a little lazy but, well my game so I am allowed x) |
Pulled off a win with 3 hp making my 44th battle in the battle tower a win :)
|
Most of my toughest moments were in my Poison Ultimate Monotype Challenge, like trying to beat Red, Every psychic gym leader, The Sinnoh Elite Four in Platinum, and Blue in both R/B/Y and G/S/C with a Poison team
|
The Rock Cave in RBY by far.
That is always so hard, even with Flash. Most of the time I'm too lazy to get an HM slave so I stay without Flash, and we all know that makes the cave tons more difficult to get out of. x_x I remember at one time all I had was a Butterfree, Pikachu, and Nidorina going through that cave Flashless. I swear I hit every trainer in that whole cave, with no methods of healing available. My Pikachu had fainted, and Butterfree and Nidorina were very close to fainting as well. After about 7 minutes of wandering around I finally made it out, just barely avoiding having to travel through that dreaded cave from the beginning again. >: |
Catching MewTwo in Blue. Why? My cousin basically lied to me and told me the master ball held an infinite amount of Pokemon as opposed to the usual one Pokemon. So, I wasted it on a *drumroll* lv. 5 Tentacool, and thus had to catch MewTwo with an Ultra or Great Ball (don't remember). :/
|
in my grass monotype of blue, i totally forgot about the rival battle before nugget bridge. All of my pokemon were KO'd except for a lvl 21 weepinbell at half health, going up against a flying type, a psychic type and a fire type. i managed to defeat my rival due to his sheer stupidity (ember, growl, growl, growl, growl, growl, growl, growl, growl, ember, growl etc.). I used poison powder and leech seed to beat his entire team. took around 25 min.
|
The fight against Miltank.
|
Personally I've never had any Pokemon hardships...
My brother however beat Brock with a Pidgey on Pokemon Yellow. It took hours. Pidgey used Sand Attack! Geodude used Rock Throw! Geodude missed! I think you get the idea. |
-Going through Victory Road in Fire Red. It took me MONTHS to find out what those blue things were (I found out that I needed to use Strength to activate the ''switches").
-Beating Lorelei and the whole League with Fire Red. I didn't know much about Pokémon, and I only had a lv72 Charizard and NO OTHER POKÉMON except rattatas, pidgeys etc. around lv 4. I decided to train a lot in Victory Road (took me almost a year) and finally I beat Gary's Blastoise with a lv89 Charizard with only 2PP Cut left. Finally!! |
The switches in the Underground in G/S/C were harder than they should have been to me. I'd always thought that it required some elaborate combination, and one night I didn't seem to be getting anywhere so I gave in and looked up the combo online. Only to find it's just 3,2,1. I'm an idiot. >.>
The puzzle in Wallace's gym in Ruby ticked me off too. Stupid ice. -_- |
Taking on Brock with my Caterpie. I think my game glitched, because all of our attacks were missing. =/ (No Sand-attacks or anything)
|
Rock Tunnel when I first started playing Blue version . . . nightmares man o.o
|
I had problems with the ice gyms of both gen III and gen IV.
Oh, and taking on Red's Pikachu in Mt. Silver (in Silver, funnily enough) with a team of level forty-five to sixty Feraligatr. And one HM-slave Croconaw at the same lvl (which was called "Slave", funnily enough. XP). I JUST beat it, only to get wasted by Snorlax the next turn. D= And getting stuck in one of the Seafoam Islands with only a level 100 Venusaur... I ended up having to get it to faint to get out. |
Trying to beat Lorelei in a Rock monotype challenge in LeafGreen. I still haven't beaten her.
|
When I first played the Blue Edition It took me ages~ to find the door opener in the silph co. house. It took em so long (well I was at 101h before i found it) because I didnt see that in the 7th flor you would just need to go on the transporter field and go back and move down xD
Before that I borrowed the red edition of someone I met and it took me ages to get out of the Moon mountain xD in Silver it took me about three attempts to get past Karins' Houndoom . Its crunch and flamethrower really knocked me out often enough ^^. |
