A small note but we should be getting a new one in a couple of weeks. It was shown at the special viewing of movie 12:

Before the movie started a new HeartGold and SoulSilver commercial played, which I imagine will not air for another few weeks. A 3D Entei appears, followed by Raikou, and then Suicune. We see Ho-Oh and Lugia posing, and then some game footage. Most of it has already been seen, but there is some sort of footage involving a race with laps being counted. I have no idea what it was, so it's probably something completely new in the games. The male character is also shown riding a Pokemon in the Lake of Rage. He encounters the red Gyarados while doing so.

And I was right about racing. Most likely place is where I guessed in the oval area near the national park.

There are if you count the Johto map which also shows the Elite Four place which is in Kanto... and routes leading from Victory Road to Viridian as well.

If Kanto wasn't involved this would be the biggest let down since... Ash lost his signature cap. :P Hehehe

I quite liked the trailer - a lot of nice stuff there. Let's see...hmm, feel going going through it part by part. New Bark town from a higher angle and all, followed by Goldenrod! Yay. Compared to GSC... well, by the sign above the Pokemon Centre, Game Corner is back in the same spot by random guessing... same for the Dept. Store. The buildings below... looks like some are unable to be accessed... but seem bigger and all as well. Plus there's at least a new NPC there. Hmm... idk, but *maybe* goldenrod is at least a little bit bigger?

Hope so. Goldenrod is the biggest city in PokeHistory for a reason!! Seems to have lost it's Golden tinge to it though; guess they didn't want it to look too much like Ecruteak City. :P

Ecruteak Tin Tower Gate shown again, and then the Ho-oh and Lugia scenes which look really nice. (Hurrah for the English 'Touch to Start!' pics as well XD). I prefer Lugia's personally, but both are good. Then there's starter choosing, and Tin Tower, I assume. Man, those tress and scenery look *fantastic*, IMO. Then it's the girl protagonist walking with Chikorita (Dance Theatre!), Slowpoke Well again (it is slight bigger in that part!... obviously).

Always good to keep key locations! Hopefully the man with the surfing/dancing Rhydon is still there!! :D

Pokemon starters like to dance, it seems, and Chikorita uses Cut on a tree - neat. BUT - note that when Chikorita does that (0:31 - 0:34) - there's a tree there standing in the clearing. Looking unlike any other Berry tree, without any soil there... and it's not a Sudowoodo either. Could this be an Apricorn tree?

Hell yeah, and I thought that in R/S/E just showing the Pokemon who uses the HM in a quick flash was cool. Better hope the Apricorns are back, along with Berries no doubt. What else is Kurt good for? Breaking his back.... :P :D

Then Pokedex stuff - seen that before - Ho-oh again, and... Clair's gym looks considerably more awesome (looks like her gym, leastways), with the lava and new/somewhat changed gym puzzle! And Pokemon don't always necessarily follow you, it seems... good for those who hate the idea, I suppose? Chikorita attacks a Mareep, Monty's Gym puzzle is at least the same idea, and looks considerably more awesome now...yadda yadda yadda.

And the other thing of note is that Cianwood again has the house north of it - the one in Crystal! And there's a path further north... seems to me at least another hint of Eusine and the Suicune subplot returning to HG/SS - after all, there is the same area there, after all. Far from confirmed though, mind.

Heck yeah! I mentioned this before, Claire's gym looks revamped to the extreme! Let's hope the Dragon Den is more of a challenge this time. Morty's gym looks super awesome, epic at best. And the overview of Johto showed a large Park area west of Cianwood so lets hope you're right!!

It won't be do not fret. So yeah I really wanna see that new one...

TheAliveTrain July 5th, 2009 4:35 AM

The title screen is in English "Touch to start". Is it suposed to be like that?

Ryanniny July 5th, 2009 5:28 AM

the game isnt gonna be NDSi only, there aren't NDSi only games...
the "touch to start" screens like incredible, im so impressed.
i am slightly confused though.
it showed ecruteak city with the lake bit in the top, and the kimono girl house below, but the city looked kinda gray/blue-ish
but then other screens, what i'm presuming to be, of ecruteak city, show it with red & goldy trees? i'm so confused :| are they just showing different areas of the city? cos i'm unsure if its different places or not
sorry if you don't actually understand what i'm going on about. its hard to explain D:

It's always in English on the Japanese versions, but that's still different from usual. In my Platinum and Diamond it says this on the top screen:
PUSH START BUTTON

and now we have on the touch screen:

TOUCH TO START

Interesting change :P lol

LegendaryPichu July 5th, 2009 12:07 PM

Did you guys realize... they did not show anything about day/night yet.

it was in DPPt, and was originally in GSC

kellogs July 5th, 2009 1:22 PM

I love the touch screen openings, they look mega awesome and also the pokemon coming out to perform a HM!I'm really hyped now :D

kiv_umar July 5th, 2009 1:55 PM

wow, they can fit all this amazingness into that small cartridge? AND include the Kanto region ontop of that!
i hope they include kanto otherwise it's not G/S, but from what i've seen it's being hinted at.

I heard it almost definitely will!

I love how they are using the full 3D capabilities of the DS!

Okeeee here we go. Everything everyone has said I pretty much agree with, so I won't take up space with repetitive nonsense. I'll talk about the crappy aspects.

- Lugia's title screen is looking downright awesome while Ho-Oh's is plain and boring. Couldn't they at least add a rainbow to Ho-Oh's, since he's a rainbow legendary?
- Goldenrod City should retain that colour scheme in the originals, the pink brick and golden tinge. They should swap the black roads with pink pavement.

キラキラ July 5th, 2009 3:11 PM

I am loving the fact that our Pokemon will actually pop out and perform the HM moves ^^
I wonder what happens when surfing? *prays for Pokemon riding*[nonWAILMER]

Sweet Smoochum July 5th, 2009 4:03 PM

First, I'd like to say I really love the theme song that's playing in the commercial. What stood out to me most was the Blackthorn City's gym! It looks incredible! Morty's gym looks lovely as well. Those candles are a nice touch. Ecruteak looks beautiful and I love the Dance Theater. This commercial really shows off a lot about this game without revealing too much. We finally got to see the new girl's overworld sprite! :D Ho-oh looks gorgeous as well as the background. They worked hard on this game. I know I'll love it! :D

Counterpoint two: As far as I'm aware, the motif was largely golden. Pink pavement wouldn't make sense and I'd be under the impression that pink was only used to make distinct the brick road used in town.

1: Huh? I'm talking about how they favoured Silver incredibly, like they always do (Nintendo always has a version they favour, mostly whatever version the fans like more, like Pokemon Diamond was favoured, Pokemon Silver was, Pokemon Red was) by giving Lugia's titlescreen so much more effort and time and effects, while Ho-Oh gets just a blank sky.... couldn't they add a rainbow? And I didn't say anything about the original one?

2: A soft yellowish pink tinge to bricked pavement would enhance the gold more and the two together would look amazing (plus the original didn't have black roads).

blueblur155 July 5th, 2009 5:06 PM

The more I see gameplay video, the more I want this game! The commercial was just AMAZING!!! Cant wait 4 this to come stateside (u know with an english narrator of course)

I think it's so cute how the Pokemon bounce in the video. ♥

That is, until an earthquake devastates a nearby town. Then it's just morbid. c:

I loved it. I like that the game focuses more on the touch screen also. Even the title screen uses it. The pokedex looks awesome and so do the Ho-oh and Lugia entrances. I really hope there are seasons in this one. I would love to see changes involving the calandar and not just the clock.

Sweet Smoochum July 7th, 2009 7:58 AM

What took me most by surprise was seeing the Blackthorn City gym. That was incredible! The lava made it look amazing. The music in the background makes you so pumped to play this game. It makes you want to play it this very second.

Indeed. I wanna see if Falkner has wind in his gym if bugsy has bugs and so on.

Maybe for Bugsy, they'll do what they did in Crystal. Y'know, with the rotating clock-center-thing? I thought that was really ahead of it's time, it kinda resembled the Sunnyshore gym but only with one room.
