buit since I'm here, EVs are Effort Values a hidden stat in all Pokemon games that gives a stat bonus to your pokemon for beating certain pokemon. Trainers will hatch a baby pokemon and hjave it only fight certain wild pokemon until their EVs are maxed out so as to make their stat allocations most beneficial to their overall strenghs and weaknesses.

(If the Mod doesn't like where I move it then they can lock it, or move it to wherever)

EVs are plenty important. Without them, you'll never bring out the best ability of your Pokemon. Those natures and moves pale in comparison to importance of EVs. Things like "training normally" are BS if you want to play this game competitively and/or seriously.

EVs aka Effort Values are values that affect the stats of a Pokemon. They are gained everytime you gain experience in battle in increments of 1, 2, or 3 in the 6 stats of HP, attack, defense, sp. atk, sp. def, and speed denpending on the Pokemon you battled. You can gain a maximum of 255 EVs in a single stat and 510 EVs total. For every 4 EVs in a stat, that stat is 1 point higher at lv. 100 than it would be if it didn't. 255/4 = 63 R3, so you can add 63 points to a single stat by EV training. This is just a basic overview. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.

I don't think Evs have the ability to make your pokemon look cooler just stronger.

I don't think that evolution is related to ev training......

EV training is simply the right distribution of points into a given chosen stat to make it as high as it can possibly be. EV training is an absolute essential if you plan to play the game competitively, whether it be online or with friends. Not only do nature's come into account here, but also the starting values of hatched Pokemon. You'll most likely need to breed and hatch several before you find one with the most potential.

It can all be very time consuming but the benefits from it are more than enough, and EV trained Pokemon done correctly can easily One Hit KO a Pokemon that hasn't. Even if it's done incorrectly, this mostly seems to be the case. Example being way back when the 2nd gen were the latest games, I had a level 70 or so Feraligatr facing my friends own Feraligatr in a link cable battle. My Feraligatr seemed much more powerful than theirs, I was too absorbed with the battling to find out why.

However now I know, my Feraligatr had it's EV's maxed out through the use of Vitamins while my friends, hadn't. This simple difference made me wipe out their team with relative ease, EV's are hard to grasp at first but if you're able to pull it off, well... you're unstoppable to those who are clueless about them.
