I like how they silhouetted the Pokemon >> Way to be subtle?

It wouldn't really make much sense for Kyogre/Groudon to be event Pokemon IMO. They're already available in large quantities, so that kinda defeats the purpose.

Actually everyone has been talking about it, it just didn't have its own thread. And there is plenty of information. After you beat the E4 and defeat all the Kanto leaders Professor Birch shows up at Professor Elm's lab and tells you that a legendary Pokemon from his region of Hoenn has appeared in Johto. This was in that CoroCoro mag about two months ago. So Hoenn isn't going to be in the game, a pity as it may be.

It is a Johto remake. How can you not have heard about these by now???

I actually translated the captions for this picture and speaks about the Hall of Fame. So I'm assuming that they become available after you achieve that status. :/ That's just what I got out of it though.

And they're only in high quantities to people who have access to Wi-fi, and not everyone does. :/

All of the bold stuff is not confirmed.

It is plausible though. In Platinum, Oak came told you of the three legendary birds from Kanto once you got the National Dex (and chased him around the map, from Pal Park to Eterna City).

But you are right, not confirmed and it is just crazy to say otherwise.

Pokestick, good times. July 7th, 2009 2:20 PM

It would be nice to meet Prof birch in a non-RSE-game for the first time... I hope it will happen. Although... When I think about it, they (Groudon and Kyogre) doesn't really seem like the kind of Pokémon that just moves to a different region just like that, legendary bird-style... But well atleast theyre there.

And yess 50 posts! (i've actually done alot more posts than that, but meh)

And hey, wouldn't it be fun if Groudon/Kyogre were roamin' too!

Roaming? You mean like in Emerald?

Mitchman July 8th, 2009 2:37 AM

What if they covered them because they are shiny or in some new color?

I also heard that they will be roaming through the whole region after you've beaten the Elite 4 and the Champion.
I think like Entei, Raikou and Suicune.
But i don't know if that's true.

s0nido July 8th, 2009 4:14 AM

We're probably getting a Hoenn remake after 5 years, since we got an RBY remake 9 years after the original games were released, and the same timespan after the GSC series was released. So we'll probably get an RSE remake after 6 years.

xxChazxx July 8th, 2009 4:55 AM

Wait. If these two are going to be in, does anyone think we'll see a comeback of DIVE?

I liked DIVE...

SceptileX July 8th, 2009 5:15 AM

Wow!! I think Kyogre would suit SoulSiver... And Groudon would definately suit Heart Gold...

This is from Play-Asia's pre-order section:

"Pokemon Heart Gold is a remake of Pokemon Gold, a game which first came out in 2,000. It includes revamped graphics, various new Pokemon, and new forms of previously existing Pokemon. The game also offers a special challenge after the main story is completed, in which the main character travels to the Hoenn region to catch one of two titans that fought 3 years earlier. New characters include Lunah, the Dark type gym leader of Hoenn, and Sakura, the gardening enthusiast. Supports wi-fi connection and comes with a pedometer."

:3

Not believing it until it's confirmed by a reliable source~

I'm guessing Groudon and Kyogre can be obtained after the main story is complete, and they'll be running or surfing around in the wild. Remember the legendary beasts running around Kanto after you became the champion? Sorta seems like the same thing.

Or perhaps they're going to be event Pokémon, finally making proper, productive use of the Wi-Fi connection.

Fantomix July 8th, 2009 5:51 AM

Well, to clear any confusion about the whole Hoenn thing, they most definitely will not be putting it in. Why? Well first, memory and all that claptrap, the card won't be able to accomodate three full regions, guys.
Second, they're putting Kyogre and Groudon in because there isn't going to be Hoenn. Because of the DSi, GBA game compatibility has gone out the window, so they're putting Hoenn legendaries in so that the pawr baaabeez who have a DSi will be able to get them without having to rely on trading. I wouldn't be surprised if Latias and Latios were released as event Pokemon sometime, either.

Oh trust me there is enough space to put it. The game will be more or less the size of DPPt half the cart and a bit more with the fancy graphics. They could if they want but the question is would they.

Crocky July 8th, 2009 6:05 AM

Does anyone think there might be a subplot with Team Rocket to get Groudon or Kyogre?

Ah, I'm probably just forgetting the size that Platinum was. Also, what do you mean by "half the cart"? (It's probably obvious, it's just that it's midnight and all.)

Nah, probably not. I think Groudon might have something to do with all the volcanic activity around Cinnabar and whatnot, and Kyogre... Something watery xD (yeah, I'm a bit rusty on Kanto/Johto at the moment :P). That's how it has been, generally. Talk to TV, "Oh, this random Pokemon appeared coincidentally when you defeated the Elite Four! It's been sighted at *random place*. :S

Mitchman July 8th, 2009 6:11 AM

Half the cart space. A whole ds cart is around 128MB and platinum and dp where around 64MB. I doubt hgss would go over 80MB and if it does then that would be because of more areas and such,

derozio July 8th, 2009 6:13 AM

I really can't imagine Groudon and Kyogre roaming Legendary Beasts style! It will be okay if they roamed the way they did in Emerald. I agree completely on that part Hiroshi. And Its already said that the info that is on play-asia is fake(the hoenn story and new pokemon and all that!).

Ah, hm. My understanding was that you can't exactly have a "whole" DS cart. They come in different sizes; something like 16mb, 32mb, 64mb, 128mb and then there's very few games that use a 256mb cart. Basically the game is put on whichever best accomodates their size, and then (I'm not completely sure on this one) it's just filled with a bunch of unnecessary code and jumble to make up the excess, hence why trimming is possible.

I really, really don't think they'd go up to 256mb, and if we were to expect Johto itself to be around as large as Sinnoh, then that + Kanto + Hoenn really wouldn't fit on the 128mb, unless they were cut down drastically (not that I expect them all to be full scale and epic or anything). Then again, I'm quite possibly wrong.

Mitchman July 8th, 2009 6:32 AM

Actually by the looks of it Johto could be only half of Sinnoh while Kanto could be the other half. As I said you never know.

Fantomix July 8th, 2009 6:38 AM

Yeah, true. I'd be disappointed if they only used a 64mb cartridge for both regions, though. With all the new features and such, they'd really be cramming it in there. However, this has gone far enough off topic, I'd say :P.

~*!*~Tatsujin Gosuto~*!*~ July 8th, 2009 6:59 AM

I hope this isn't true yet because I'm planning to get Soul Silver and now I'm thinking other wise because Groundon isn't in SS >=[

:t354:TG

Fantomix July 8th, 2009 7:03 AM

Huh? Groudon is in Soul Silver. Much to my dismay; Kyogre = <3

Mitchman July 8th, 2009 7:04 AM

Yeah Groudon is in SoulSilver. The playasia info is the fake stuff. Kyogre for thsoe with HeartGold.

No, they wouldn't. Not in that combination. Kyogre and Lugia = Water-ish Leganedaries. Groudon and Ho-oh = Fire-ish legendaries. This was probably done in this order more for legendary type balnce because then SoulSilver would have a type advantage against HeartGold, since everyone loves battling their exclusive legendaries. it would lead to a bias in type match-ups.

When you think about that there will be no Groudon in HG and no Kyogre in SS, then the thought of havin' G and K in different places would make the games missin' a part of the plot that is in the other one, since you can't just use the same dialog for two different areas. I know that it would be cool, and doesn't sound that weird, but it just doesn't seem that Pokémonish, if you get my point. They usually don't do that...
But again, it would be cool.

If it were, and Groudon would really lay at Cinnabar, then a good place for Kyogre might be Seafoam isles... Theyre pretty close, and since Articuno is gone from there (roamin' in Sinnoh with Zaptos and Moltres ^^), it could make sense. Blaine's gym is there, but there's TWO islands, right?
Another area could be Tohjo falls, or possibly Mount Mortar... Whirl Islands would be great, but Lugia is there if you haven't catched it yet, so yea... Maybe another of the four Isles?

The possibilities here are many, but the chanses are that they'll just create a whole new area, or... Maybe not even that...?
