What keeps you training?
What keeps you investing hours grinding up the pixels on your screen? Is it a love for the game and the games universe? Do you just want to crush somebody online? Do you take pride in the Pokemon you raise?
Or do you just have that kind of free time? Ever since the Pokemon "world has been taken over" sorta craze ended I've found myself a very casual participant in the Pokemon fandom. I don't learn the hottest new things and I'm not up on the show or the new Pokemon and that bleeds into the game. The newest game I've bought is Diamond and I'm enjoying it a fair amount (though I honestly think it has less personality than the other games) and I'm working on my team. I just sometimes get stuck in a rut of "why bother to train these Pokemon?" and love to hear others stories for inspiration. So do share! |
you got i wii i have one got pbr (pokemon battle revolution) i completed the game i thought hey im awsome so i went online for a batlle lost to a weezing.... so i trained i challenged that guy beat him with one dude (mewtwo)

It's fun and yes there is a sense of accomplishment that comes with reaching your goal
Its just fun. That's all.
Yeah, its fun and you feel proud! Your like 'Phew' when you've trained your pokemon up to Lv. 100, with loads of hours of gametime then suddenly... 'Your game file has corrupted due to damage, your game file has been deleted.'
Lol, imagine it! |

The only thing that's motivating me to train as of this moment is that I have to get several Pokemon to level 100 by the deadline of the 18/19th of July.
Yeah! One can also get motivated by setting goals.
It is just fun!:D And also if im just desperate for a certain evolution/move it just keeps me going! :D

METAGROSS FTW! |
There are many reasons but I can't think of all at the same time! Proof: I remembered many reasons one by one!
I keep training to better myself at wi-fi. I'm a terrible competitive battler, but I have noticed an increase in my skill since I've started. Though, most of what you call 'training' for me is breeding for a good nature...
Right now, I'm wanting to get into WiFi battles with my UU team. I enjoy general battling, but actual training is tedious. Still, I'd love to get to 100.

Plus, Pokemon games record those times for us... How nice... |
All I can think of its fun to do, and what I'm doing is raising all of my Pokemon to the nearest 10
:t354:TG |
I do it to obtain a team that could crush all my friends. Haha.
And Platinum has much more storyline and originality that D/P. EDIT: Pseudo Legendaries are the best. Currently training a Metang -> Metagross :] |
The reason I continue to train my Pokemon is because I still find it fun to do and because once I have used a specific Pokemon for a while, I start to get attached to them. Its much the same for my friend, who also continues to train his Pokemon. (we both train in EVs, but don't see the point in IV Breeding, so battles are pretty interesting XD )
I continue to train because I get attached to my pokemon, and don't want to restart the game. XD I also train to crush people in wi-fi battles. X3
Mostly, I get pride in defeating my friends, since they beat me most of the time. I still put up a good fight though! >:3
I'm just trying to get as many level 100 Pokemon as possible. So far, I have Dragonite, Togekiss, Gengar, Infernape, Vaporeon at level 100. A lot of others are in the 90s and 80s. It's pretty close. I'm not EV training so it will take quicker. I battle the trainers in the Battleground, go up against the Elite Four, battle my rival, etc. Sometimes, I take a break and do contests or go underground. I change up the roster a little bit each time one gets to level 100. Some that are close to level 100 are Floatzel (1 more level), Porygon Z, Mr. Mime, Charizard, etc.
I just train to be the best that I can possibly be and have lots of pokemon for fun and to not get bored witht he same ones.
Training your pokemon is not fun at all. I don't mind facing other trainers, but leveling up with wild pokemon drives me crazy. The only reason why I do it is so I can win the game.
What keeps me training mine is trying to evolve my team.
Just went through an all nighter figuring out that the one i was focusing on doesnt evolve xD |
