What do you think? Personally, I dont like it much. I prefer the old style and this looks a bit harder to navigate, but I guess they have to change as much as possible to get it be more than just an exact remake. I suppose i could get used to it.

kkaitlinn94 July 11th, 2009 4:57 PM

Eh, it's okay. I can't reallly say much about it until I see something not in Japanese, haha. I didn't really like the one for Diamond though, the spinning Pokeball REALLY got on my nerves.

PokeBabe July 11th, 2009 4:58 PM

Haha. Thats part of why I liked the one is D/P/Pt. It was easy to navigate through because of that spinning pokeball.
I agree, it IS in japanese, but from what i see of the layout, it isnt the best.

Sweet Smoochum July 11th, 2009 5:52 PM

I like it better than all the old ones. The others were like a list. Now we can see up to 20 Pokemon on a page. It makes it easier to see which ones we have. (I like seeing the icons instead of a long list. I like the arrow better than the spinning Pokeball.) It also looks like how a pokedex should look. I rate it a 10/10. I'm glad they didn't make it various colors because if they made it a certain color, it would be hard to see the mini sprites of pokemon that color. I like it much better this way. The background doesn't take away from the sprite. It's simple and gets to the point. (unlike this post. I'm sorry.)

PokeBabe July 11th, 2009 5:55 PM

Hmm I see your point. It is indeed very direct and "to the point" but theres something abou it that bothers me. Maybe it's just a tad too plain for my liking.
Any other opinions?

Allure XI July 11th, 2009 6:24 PM

I usually don't pay all too much attention to the Pokedex, but I do happen to like this layout. Then again, I'm saying this before I actually test it out -- I can see it being annoying looking for a certain Pokemon's name while scrolling, but having to look at the sprites instead of the name (and depending on how the sprites look, it might be difficult to identify what Pokemon it is if scrolling fast).

Nevertheless, I'm excited for this change in the Pokedex. Like Lily said, it looks like "how a Pokedex should."

Mitchman July 11th, 2009 6:26 PM

Harder? This is far easier. Scroll click a Pokemon if you don't want it scroll somemore find the one you want and bam!

MLU July 11th, 2009 6:40 PM

I don't really care what the pokedex looks like. It has uses, and that's what it's for.

Personally, I think it would be easier to scroll down a list fast looking for a name, but that's my own preference. Based on the one video I saw, it seems a little slow to scroll, but that may simply be because they weren't trying to make it scroll fast.

PokeBabe July 11th, 2009 7:10 PM

I agree with you, Allure. I would hate having to look so closely at those tiny sprites. I like it better seeing a big photo of the pokemon as i scroll down. Easier on my eyes, but thats just my opinion :p

It's more creative then the other ones, but it looks like you'll need to read the manual to understand that Pokedex

:t354:TG

Why would you need the manual? Just tap a pokemon...

Right awn, gurl. <3

I think that I'd prefer it in gray or blue instead of that red, though.

Pikachu Trainer~ July 11th, 2009 11:53 PM

I love the new design of the Pokédex, it looks really nice compared to the old ones. And it is far easier to use by the looks of things. I think the interface looks absolutely amazing.

I really like it, they gave it a new sophisticated and technilogical look which will no doubt be an addon for the pokegear. I think the pokegear will have the pokedex, phone, etc

Wings Don't Cry July 12th, 2009 12:12 AM

It seems like it will be a lot easier to get to the middle guys now, on D/P/Pt it took so long to get to the middle when you had the National Dex

Xashlei July 12th, 2009 12:17 AM

Can't say I'm fond of the color scheme, but navigation looks like it'll be somewhat easier in this.

Banjora Marxvile July 12th, 2009 12:39 AM

Looks kinda good to me, and looks simple to use, in my opinion. It looks more advanced than the other Pokedexs, which is a plus to me.

Cheesymitten July 12th, 2009 12:39 AM

I think that it looks a bit more..Nicely laid out than the older one's, this one goes sideways and down and up as well, i think that's better than just going down, seems a bit boring...:P

Pyrax July 12th, 2009 1:15 AM

Looks better than the one in DPPt.
I like the interface.

Hypergaming July 12th, 2009 4:49 AM

I like the new one better, it seems easier to find a certain pokemon.

Finnel July 12th, 2009 4:50 AM

I was really confused by it at first, but I quickly got used to it. It does look pretty nice.

Samme! July 12th, 2009 5:21 AM

I love it! It seems far more creative and easier to navigate then previous pokedexs. I also love how you can see the party sprite of each pokemon with their number, while also being able to see a larger number of pokemon at one time. I also love how the basic pokemon info page just pops up on the top screen so you wouldnt have to go back in older games. I can't wait to see what the other pages of the dex look like :)

polkop July 12th, 2009 12:12 PM

I like it. It will be faster to go up and down to scearch pokemon.

Ayselipera July 12th, 2009 12:34 PM

I really won't be able to judge it till I use it.
As of now its just reminds me of a calendar.

I hated the spinning pokeball too, kaitlin. As for HG/SS's pokedex, I like it. It seems different from all of the other pokedexes. They really made it look all advanced, didn't they?

Wh1teW01f July 12th, 2009 2:12 PM

I think I like it a little more than the old pokedex. As long as it still has the slow down feature on the cries that I used to freak my friend out. But I won't really know until I try it out for myself. Two of the things that I hope they still have in HG/SS is the radio thing and the Pokegear.

alisaie July 12th, 2009 2:32 PM

I like this design. It looks like it'll be easier to navigate and you don't have to read the Pokemon name to know what Pokemon it is. Definitely more unique than the other Pokedexes, which have pretty much always have similar functioning.

glow.ForEveR July 12th, 2009 2:52 PM

idk if im liking it at all, Does seem like they are trying to make it look a little more technical, which im fine with, but to be honest i never really liked ANY of the pokedex layouts in the first place.

Timbjerr July 12th, 2009 3:36 PM

I give it two thumbs up for the simple interface abd being able to see 20 pokemon on a screen at once instead of 7.

(b'_')b

bighamzer July 12th, 2009 3:56 PM

I don't really like it...

Pokestick, good times. July 13th, 2009 9:04 AM

I like it. I think it resembles how the PokéDex should have looked like from the start, in my opinion, but they just didn't have enough screen space, so they made the hard-to-use version(s) instead. Unitl now. Yay for a PokéDex that looks decent!

Why I used red colour for "PokéDex"? Dunno.

Youji July 13th, 2009 9:54 AM

In my opinion it's the best layout they've ever made for a PokéDex actually. I mean it's easy to navigate through and finally you can touch them and there are more Pokés in a row so it makes it more easy to search for a specific without that annoying "ball goes crazy" sound of D/P/Pt (I mean it is a really annoying sound ;D)

Sweet Smoochum July 13th, 2009 11:52 AM

Like the person before me said, this is the best Pokedex I've seen yet. They even added a cover to it. It's great because you don't have to go down a long list of names to see a Pokemon, you can easily tap on it and read its entry. I rarely use the thing anyway, so I don't care that it's blank-ish.

Serene Grace July 13th, 2009 11:55 AM

It's meh. I do like the graphics but the layout still bugs me. It doesn't feel... right.

PokeBabe July 13th, 2009 2:47 PM

I agree with you. Im not saying that i dont like it, something about it just bugs me. The interface seems simple enough but we have yet to see how good the scrolling is.
