You just need to download a Nintendo DS Emulator.

damz July 14th, 2009 11:32 AM

What do you mean by smoothly?

..Like, as in smoothly at all, or smoothly at the normal speed it's meant to run at?

Personally, i'm using a modified no$gba (get it through that 'NDSROM Player' app thing), with the update interval set at 40FPS, and the actual game speed at 150%, no frame skip - and it runs smooth as.

For comparison,
Windows 7, Build 7160
2.53ghz C2D (45nm, 6mb cache)
4gb 800mhz RAMs
ATI Radeon HD4650 512mb

Our specs aren't too far off, so you should be able to do the same.

Basically, just download the' NDSROM Player' app thing, and install it. Once installed, goto your C: drive, like this: ' C:\Program Files\NDSROM Player\Emulation ' and copy the 'no$zoomer' application, and chuck a shortcut on your desktop.
Then open up Platinum, press F11, and change the 'emulation speed, LCD Refresh' to 'Realtime*1.5, Auto'. Also, turn off the sound..
Done!
Should make it nice and smooth..

(Note: If that's still a little rough, go to options, then change the 'update interval' to 40FPS, and unselect 'Automatic Skip')

Hope that helps,
Matt.

I've been playing platinum on my laptop at 100% speed with stereo sound for quite a while now. I just use no$gba, find it yourself, and the platinum rom. I use all the normal settings except flash 512kbyte for saves.

The only odd thing is that the giratina on the title screen does not render properly

sanjeev7 August 10th, 2009 2:55 PM

wat to do if i use NO$Zoomer?

3n3rGyZ August 17th, 2009 10:34 PM

I get around 170% speed but my fps is sooooo low ( like 5-12), anyway I can make that better?

Squeenix August 18th, 2009 6:08 PM

Try to get a better emulator.

TheBlueRabbit August 26th, 2009 2:16 AM

is there a good DS emulator for a Mac?

LDUK August 26th, 2009 4:00 AM

I use NDSROM Player. That works perfectly. I have a 8800 GTS XXX So that may help I'm not sure.

Help

I've got the same problem... any good Emulators?

Charmageddon September 2nd, 2009 10:03 AM

I have no$GBA, I run it on "Unlimited mHZ disaster, 10%" and the Sound Output and "Digital Mono, Fast". Platinum, as well as Pearl, runs like gold.

DestinyBender September 3rd, 2009 2:19 AM

Where to download Platinum? Where?

DawsonPhan September 3rd, 2009 9:32 AM

probelm

i have the same probelm i deleted it:( it is very slow so i dont use emulators anymore

derozio September 8th, 2009 10:02 AM

Dude! Just download No$gba 2.6a and it will run fine. In the emulator options, choose "Unlimited mHZ disaster, 10%" and you'll be fine.

It does not depend on the emulator. It depends on the speed of your computer. =P

DestinyBender September 13th, 2009 11:20 PM

Lol, thanks! It works very nicely now, & I hope y'all get this result like I did ^^

mattman324 February 5th, 2010 10:46 AM

You're all lucky. I can't get past the title screen with Giratina on my computor.

Makorin February 19th, 2010 11:29 AM

I use DeSmuME 0.9.4 and it works perfectly for me
With Pokemon there are no Graphical Glitches just that DeSmuME glitches out when you do in-game trades

I have;
Windows Vista Home Premium
nvidia GeForce 8400 GS 512MB Graphics Card [a PCI Express]
Pentium Dual-Core CPU E5200 @ 2.5 GHz
3GB RAM

most computers are too slow or old to run emulators well or effeciently

Late February 27th, 2010 10:11 PM

I have No$Gba + No$Zoomer D/P/Pl works perfectly on my 7 and on my old XP. And I've seen that No$Gba works fine on Windows 98 too.
I don't know why everybody hates No$Gba (saying that it's too old to play newest games), well I have played every of my game perfectly (expect few problems with HG/SS but it's normal for every emulator).

DJCherryTempo March 1st, 2010 11:34 PM

This is kinda not a Pokemon thing, but its emulation related:

My computer's stats are:
Intel(R)
Pentium(R) 4 CPU 1.60 GHz
1.59 GHz, 640 MB of RAM.

I understand its an old computer, but if I was to play Castlevania Portrait of Ruin on DesMuMe, what emulator things would I need to do to make it run smoothly?

Ihtesam19 March 7th, 2010 7:16 PM

Defragmenting it helps
