I have now relised how bad a mistake this was as now nothing will download.I done some researching and noticed that i needed a program called winrar to open it. I downloaded this and installed it i then tryed to download and open this custom content again but first i tryed to switch from opening with internet to winrar but it still keeps trying to open it using internet . Im really stuck and angry and need some help please as i can not download custom content. If anyone can help me please i will do anything. " shinies if it works please anything.
If this is in the wrong section feel free to move it. Thank you |
Winrar opens .rar files, once installed you should be able to right-click rar files and click 'export' (or something similar) - Alternative = 7-Zip, which works for rars too I think ><
You also need a Downloads file or some sort in your Sims directory to put the files into so they will show up in game. (Make sure what you are downloading isn't .zip, if it is look up the program 7-Zip) |
Okay, so you've downloaded winrar. Now re-download the content, it should automatically open in winrar when it's done downloading. You could also try to extract the files anywhere if you've already got the content you want.
Make sure you put it in EA Games>Sims 2>Downloads (I think that's right) In your documents, otherwise it won't load in-game. I hope that helped. I may have misunderstood what you were asking though. |
thanks but i doesnt open with winrar because i set it to open using internet and now i cant change it from opening using winrar and i dont know why.
thanks anyways and can i download custom content for sims 3 using the same method |

However, once you've extracted the files, it may be the actual files - in which you can just put them into your Downloads folder, which Anxiety pointed out, above. Or, you may actually have a sim2pack file, to install. In this case, you actually have to double click on the icon (it'll be a round blue thing.) And follow through the very basic installation instructions, then place it in the Downloads folder - or place it in the downloads folder first, either way works. It just depends on which specific location or site you downloaded the CustomContent (CC) from. And who the creator is. But, it's most likely to be a sims2pack file. If it's not, just follow Anxiety.'s instructions. And, for your second issue, you may have to go into your settings in your browser. Which browser is it that you use, if you don't mind my asking? I just need to be sure, before I tell you how to do something with Mozilla FireFox when you're really using Internet Explorer. Edit; I can't help with the Sims 3 help,.. yet, if you wait about a month, I probably will be able to, haha. So, I'd suggest you'd wait until there are more answers and replies to this thread, for that. |
