Sweet Candace November 18th, 2009 11:56 AM

There'd be a whole lot of stages and characters, so playing SSB wouldn't get dull at any point.

The first 2 charaters I'll do are:
The Super Mario Bros.
(oh boy, I really hope that my ideas are good...)

Ooh, this sounds interesting. Mind if I also join in, as I think a few characters do have flaws, and need improvement (especially Ganondorf, too slow for King of Evil, and NO SWORD IN MOVESET?!)

Sweet Candace November 18th, 2009 4:58 PM

I think they wanted to make Ganondorf more physical because he's a heavyweight. But, that's just me.

SmashBrony November 18th, 2009 9:04 PM

Mario
Theme: Super Mario Bros. theme
Let's face it: This always have been, & always WILL be the personal theme of Mario!
(NOTE: this is what you hear instead of the same old, boring victory music for all charaters.)
Fighting Style:
Mario will be the most balanced charater, showing the ACTUAL skills of the player.
New moves:
Galaxy Spin (Down + B)
This move is from the Super Mario Galaxy games, & combines the usefulness of the Mario Tornado (From SSB 1 & 2) & FLUDD (Mario Sunshine, SSBB) by Mario doing a single spin that'll have a ranged rainbow-colored ring that pushes soild items & foes away. This won't do rapid damage like the Mario Tornado, nor reach as far as FLUDD or KO very easily at high damage, but still, this move will be VERY valuable, for it knock away enemies on both sides by a considerable distance at low damage. & it can also keep foes from returning, like I guess the FLUDD is supposed to be used for on Brawl, but again does not reach as far.
Changes in other moves:
None, for Mario was pretty good to start with.
Handicap abilities: (NOTE: this shows what the charater can do when his/her handicap is on.)
Mario will gain these moves:
Hover/Rocket Nozzle (Up + B)
Instead of the Super Jump Punch, Mario will use the Hover Nozzle on his FLUDD instead, giving him a hovering ability like Peach, therefore giving a great horizontal recovery, & can do rapid damage, but cannot stun nor push enemies. When done as a Smash attack, after a mid-timed charge, Mario will use the Rocket Nozzle instead, having a amazing vertical recovery & Power(only when the Nozzle itself hits the foe).
Turbo Nozzle (Smash forward + B)
When handicapped, Mario will still use his Cape, but when done as a smash attack, Mario will do a Horizontal version of the Rocket Nozzle with his Turbo Nozzle. But do not use this for recovery, for it'll only speed up Mario's fall, so do it above the ground, or preferably on it.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Luigi
Theme: Luigi's theme
Luigi is becoming a charater on his own, so I figured that any of the Mario Bros. music wouldn't work, for on those games, Mario out shines Luigi.
& Desite what happened on Luigi's Mason, I'm sure that Luigi STILL won't go near a haunted house, unless it's to save Mario, so the Luigi Mason theme won't work either. I've figured that Luigi's favorite place is his own racing circuit, so I'd make this theme by taking the music from the Luigi circuits (from the N64, GBA, GCN & Wii Mario kart games) & blending them into something ENTIRELY new, something silly enough to be 110% Luigi, & be theme music like! (Themes are supposed to be epic, dramatic, or however ya wanna say it.)
Fighting Style:
This is for the Luigi fans!!!
Luigi will have worse traction than his bro, giving a slight impression of being on ice, but Luigi, like on the past games he been on, is the TRUE Jumpman, having the best overall jumping abilities over all charaters, inculding Falco.
His standard jump is the same height as Falco's, & when he does his Mid-air jump, he'll flutter his feet, like on Super Mario Bros. 2, to slow his decent, but then becomes pretty hard to control, unless you only go forward. & Luigi has always been good at mid-air attacks, so having the jumping ability he's known for will make him a mid-air combat specialist. & he may be a bit difficult to control on the ground, he's not bad at all, giving pretty much what his brother have to offer, but Mario will have more power & reliabity on the ground. When deciding which brother to be, decided wither you like on-ground or mid-air moves more. or just pick Luigi anyways if you're a fan.
New moves:
Final smash: Luigi Finale
Luigi will do a super jump, to reach the top of the screen, above where he started his move, then call down a mighty lighting bolt that goes all the way from the top to the bottom of the screen, even though solid floors, then do 2 more lighting besides where the 1st was, then an another 2 besides where the last 2 was, then repeats this pattern once more to finish the move. You'll see why I changed Luigi Final Smash to this later.
Changes in moves:
Sparkball (B)
This is still the same move as always, but with electricty instead of fire, because Luigi is now taking advantage of the Thunder Hand move he learned on Mario & Luigi: superstar saga, for the GBA. Actually, there is one slight difference: this move does a split-second paralysis, not enough to do comboes, but enough to stop the foe, no matter what move they were going to use, except Final Smashes.
Super Backflip (Up + B)
This move is from Super Mario Bros.2, but behave just like Luigi's Fire Jump Punch on the previous SSB games, but reaches higher. As always, when this is a sucessful attack, you'll hear the ring of the Home-Run Bat, but the opponent will simply be launched instead of getting burned while being lanched.
Green Lighting (Forward + B)
This is still the Green Missile move, but is empowered with electricity instead of fire. so, the changes are graphical only. (Unless you are using equipment in the story mode. There, use the equipments to incease the power of electric moves to power up this move. Or the ones for Head moves, or both to have even more power.)
Handicap abilities:
Luigi will gain these moves, in addition to his Luigi Tornado being better, also, the Green Lighting chance of a misfire goes from 12.8% to 100%:
Poltergust Vacuum (R + A or Z)
Luigi will use his Poltergust 1000 (or was it 2000?) to do a long reaching grapple. when he get the foe suck in, he can do the following moves:
A: Luigi turn his Poltergust into a flamethrower to cause very rapid damage.
Foward/Back: Luigi spray water to throw his enemy more effectily than his standrad forward/back throw, plus pushing away any other enemies in the front/back.
Down: Luigi will use the ice adapter on his Poltergust to freeze his vitcim, as if they had been hit by a Freezie.
Up: Luigi reverse the vacuum into a fan, to keep his vitcim flying up. (this is NOT a guarateed KO, unless the opponent's damage is at least 130%.

BROTHER SMASH:
This is when 2 players do a co-op final smash, the most powerful attack of all when done correctly. But charaters can only do a Brother smash with a compatible partner.
Here's the Bros. Smash of the Super Mario Bros.!: (NOTE: this is ONLY on team battles, or Co-op play, when 1 charater get the smash ball, the compatible partner also has a final smash, but if one messes up, only one will do a final smash.)
SUPER BROS. FINALE (Mario & Luigi's Bros. Smash)
First, Mario should start his Mario Finale, then Luigi should start his Luigi Finale as Mario Finale touches him, so the move will carry him along without hurting him, while Luigi calls downs the horizontally spreading lighting strikes, so this move have an unbeatable horizontal (due to Mario Finale) & Vertical (due to Luigi Finale) range. Then, when the move is finish, Luigi will do a Green Lighting to return to his brother, but the Green Lighting will only hurt foes while both brothers are using Handicap.
Now you know why I changed Luigi's Final Smash!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Next Charater to be done:
Wario

Wario
Theme: Warioland: Marioland 3 theme
This is the first level music from Wario's very first game, showed above.
I feel that this should be the theme, for it was the music that offically stated that Wario is his own charater, rather than a Mario charater, & have that weirdness that'd do the WarioWare series proud. (I always thought it was some very strange voice vocalizing, now I think it's a violin that is on purpose off-tuned... speaking of which, I think a new version of this could be made by the said violens, to sound like weird voices, along with tubas... try to listen to the orignal if you can to to try to see what I mean...)
Warioman's theme: Wario: Master of disguise title
This'll be the music that plays while Wario is Warioman.
To be honest, Warioman was regretably not on Wario: Master of Disguise... however, Warioman is STILL undeniably Wario's ultimate disguise, so this theme works, especially when you consider the fact that this music is most likely the most dramatic music Wario had in his career so far.
Fighting style:
As said, Wario is his own guy, NOT a nasty, stinky Mario clone, so his style will be VERY different... FROM EVERYONE!!! Wario will be able to do stuff that no other charaters can do, so try Wario if you're in mood for someone different. Some of things that only Wario can do are:
-Is the most agile heavy-weight, & is pretty agile, desite how FAT he is
-Eat items
-Having gas that build up overtime, to become the most damaging move in the game, truly an unique attack... no other move I know mimics this one... (& this is good for vertical recovery!)
-Read more for all what Wario can do!
New moves:
Groundshake Smash (Smash down + A)
This move is from Warioland: SHAKE IT!!!.
Wario punches the ground, shaking the screen, sending up a pillar of light (these are only for graphic effects) & also sending out a short-mid ranged shock wave that strikes enemies on both sides at once.
Knock'em Sky-high (Smash up + A)
this is merely a upward variation of Groundshake Smash, without the shaking screen, pillar of light & shock waves, therefore having narrow range, limited to hitting above Wario's head & right smack on his belly.
But this is all the more powerful, for having such a narrow range.
when this hits, Wario will indeed knock'em sky-high.
If you've payed attention, you'll remember this as the move Wario used to start the coin-finding mini-game on Super Mario 64 DS.
Big Coin (Up + B)
this move is from Warioland: Marioland 3, & is even done the very same way! Wario will get out a large coin, that isn't powerful, but pack quite a punch when smash-thrown.
Heavy Butt (Down + B)
I do belive Wario did this move BEFORE Yoshi & Bowser did...
Yeah, this is about the same move as those, but with 1 difference:
The higher Wario is when he does this move, the more powerful it is!
(When the move is fully powered, Wario will flash red rapidily & have a shock wave effect on his HUGE behind. & when he lands, the screen will REALLY shake! This shaking STILL does nothing to Wario's foes...)
Changes in moves:
Ragin' Wario (Forward + B)
This move is from Warioland 4. Wario will lower his head, then charge like an angry bull. At first, this isn't much, but once this gets going, (showed by Wario having a shock wave effect on his head, & is flashing red rapidily) This move cannot be stopped without ranged moves. (exception are Marth's, Ike's & Lucario's countermoves, pretty danged good on this move, & Captian Falcon's Falcon Kick & Ganondorf's Wizard Foot, also wreaking havoc on this move.) This controls pretty much like his bike did, but is worse when starting, better once it gets going.
Handicap abilities:
Wario will have these moves while being handicapped, along with his smash attacks being a little stronger & better ranged:
Finishing combo (A, A, A)
This combo is from Wario World.
Wario will do a Left/Right hook, then an another hook punch from the other side, then doing a stunning headbutt that'll give Wario the chance to follow up with a powerful smash attack. But you'll not want to waste time!
Vacuum Mouth (B)
This is based on a move from Wario World.
Wario biting & item eating move now have range, as Wario will open his massive yap VERY wide, & suck enemies & items in with a short-mid range.
Wario can now eat bombs & such without being hurt.
Wario Bike (Forward + B)
Wario's bike now is more powerful, easier to control, still faster than Ragin' Wario, & can jump a little higher. This move can only be stopped when a enemy lands a strong mid-air move directly on Wario himself. (like with Ragin' Wario, this is actually easy to stop, but beware nonetheless, especially this move...)
Corkscrew (Up + B)
This move is the same as it was on Brawl, but now reaches higher.
Wario Waft:
This does not have the greatest lauching power, but does the most damage of any move, especially when Wario is Warioman. This now don't take so long to charge, being fully charged in 45 seconds.
Footnotes:
Wario is indeed powerful & agile, but fear not: when he's not handicapped, he have only his mid-air jump to do vertical recovery, which is not as good as Yoshi's. & all of Wario's abilities are to make up for not having a compatible partner to do a Bros. Smash with(unless Waluigi becomes playable). I'd say you should only overworry when Wario is handicapped or got the Smash Ball.

Ok, I'm not doing Peach right now...
& the changes I had in mind for her is mainly graphical, & I have a different Final Smash in mind, so I don't think you'll need to worry much, Deviation.
& I'm doing ALL the charaters that was playable on Brawl.
Remember, I didn't change Mario very much. He's still pretty much the same as always, except for the Galaxy Spin move, & when you chose to play Mario with Handicap.

Sweet Candace November 28th, 2009 7:49 AM

I would like to see Pikachu with maybe an Iron Tail like move. Or maybe Slam would work...

Demolition: Welcome to the Super Smash Bros. Club.

In Brawl, what moves are "spammy" to you?

I hate to say Pika's T-bolt. Kirby's "changing" abilities (I mean turning into rocks and such).

Munch Dog November 28th, 2009 3:49 PM

In Brawl, what moves are "spammy" to you?
I've seen firefox and links down aerial smash spammed sometimes. Though I manage to beat players like that rather easily. Pika's thunder is also spammed a lot. It's extremely annoying.

Sweet Candace November 28th, 2009 4:18 PM

Maybe because Pika's Thunderbolt is so easy to use? I found his Thunderbolt attack to be easier to use than his Skull Bash or Thundershock attacks.

SmashBrony November 28th, 2009 9:36 PM

In Brawl, what moves are "spammy" to you?
Hmm... the move I spam the most is Zelda's Din's Fire move...
(forward + B)
Other than that, the moves I see & use are varied...

Banjora Marxvile November 29th, 2009 4:24 AM

Without a doubt Kirby's Rock. My friend SPAMs that and Final Cutter to oblivion!

Mustn't forget, sometimes I SPAM counter-attacks. I am an incredibly paranoid Brawl player.

Sweet Candace November 29th, 2009 6:55 AM

The only way to fight spammy attacks is to spam right back. Fight SPAM with SPAM.

Not necessarily. SPAM is easy to predict, and as such, if you sink to that, they could change and surprise you. Best is to attack them at their weak point (like with Rock, dodge and wait for them to emerge, or just before they do, or even stick to the air, hoping the suicide.)

No, not really. That could end up quite badly for you sometimes, you just need to know what attack to use and when to use it.

Kirby and Pit would be the only considerable ones to stay in the air. Though, Fox, Wolf and Falco have that incredibly fast move which could get them off the edge quite easily, it's just a matter of how far down they fall from the Brawl Stage.

Sweet Candace November 29th, 2009 7:42 AM

Suicides should only be attempted if you have more lives than the remaining opponent.

(Example: You have two and the COM has 1).

You can suicide and take the COM out with you and still win.

Pave Low November 29th, 2009 7:52 AM

It's better fighting with a strategy rather than spammy attacks!

Banjora Marxvile November 29th, 2009 12:04 PM

When I said Suicide, I aimed at Kirby's Rock, making them die, not you... But I usually just predict the attacks, and try to Counter.

Demolition: Strategy is nothing if you cannot place it into practice, or get close enough. Sometimes, people resort to SPAM to get rid of it...

Sweet Candace November 29th, 2009 1:13 PM

Practice makes perfect. You can successfully attempt to counter those moves that seem spammy.

SmashBrony November 29th, 2009 2:30 PM

SmashBrony December 11th, 2009 3:09 PM

HEY!!! DON'T LET THIS CLUB DIE!!!
& I thought it'll be better if I played Super Princess Peach before doing her on here, so should I skip to Bowser in the mean time?

Sweet Candace December 11th, 2009 6:00 PM

I can't help it if people don't post here, Stoney...

I would suggest to do Bowser now, okay?

SmashBrony December 12th, 2009 4:42 PM

Bowser
Theme: Bowser's castle (From Super Mario Kart)
I feel this is the best Bowser music ever... & had anyone ever noticed how this is similar to the final boss battle music on Super Mario World?
speaking of which....
Giga Bowser's theme: SMW Final battle
I think this music will match the dread that players will have when Bowser transforms into the horrid Giga Bowser... Yep, any charater that has a tranformation Final Smash will have a different theme that plays for the duration of the transformation.
Fighting style:
Bowser has always been all about raw power. the changes I'll make will try to take this further. also, Bowser is the heaviest, meaning he'll be the hardest to KO. Giga Bowser will be slightly more mobile than before, & stronger than he was in Brawl.
Changes in moves:
Koopa Breath (the M&L: Bowser inside story version, B)
Bowser's flamethrowing move now have a VERY wide range, like on the said game, & has a little more power, but it wears out quicker...
Whirling Fortress (Up + B)
Bowser now does this move with all his might, so much of his might that he always lifts off the ground, & this move is like a bumper item at low damage, & the might that Bower pitchs with this move make it go as far as the orignal version of this move. but only the 1st spin is an attack, & a excellent one for recovery & getting away from enemies.
New moves:
Dash Punch (from M&L: Bowser's inside story, foward + B)
Like the title says, Bowser will do a mighty lunging punch. this is excellent for charging the opponent, & if used right, to plow though multiple foes.
Handicapped abilities
Bowser's Koopa breath will last as long as it used to, & Whirling Fortress will have more oomph, & when Bowser does his Heavy Bomb move (Down + B), it'll create a small shockwave that'll make this move even better at clearing room, & Dash Punch will have a longer range.
Notes:
Bowser is stronger & harder to KO than before, but is the slowest charater. Like Wario, you should only over worry when he is in the hands of a Bowser expert, or/& has the Smash Ball.

Sweet Candace December 13th, 2009 6:14 AM

Well, depends. If you want a new character, think of the character, what abilities they have in their own game, then translate that into SSB, adding Punches and/or Kicks as A moves.

Sweet Candace December 15th, 2009 4:03 PM

Okay. I might take a crack at making a moveset later. I just need to think of a character first.

Okay...welcome to the club.

I was thinking about doing Dimentio from Super Paper Mario.

It'll be in spoilers for now.

Dimentio's Theme: VS. Dimentio (Super Paper Mario)

Fighting Style: Being a magician, Dimentio will attempt to do various magic tricks. Including "copying" himself, and throwing "magic shots" at foes.

Moves:

Magic Shot (Up + B): Dimentio will fire magic balls at the opponent. If properly charged, this can deal severe damage.

Dark Blast (Down + B): What's a magician without dabbling into the dark arts? Sort of like a Smart Bomb, it will deal damage to everyone, except Dimentio.

Clone Thyself (Sideways + B): Dimentio will glow and clone himself. The clone is easy to KO, but won't cause the real Dimentio to disappear. Only KO'ing the true one will get rid of the clone. The problem is, he can only clone himself once.

Illusion (B): Dimentio will randomly take a Smash move from one of the Brawlers and begin to use it. Kind of like the Pokemon move Mimic. If Dimentio loses a life, he's going to have use this again to grab a Smash move.

Final Smash: If Dimentio grabs hold of a Smash Ball, he'll fly out of the screen and pelt everyone with Magic Shots. A fusion of Pit and Lucario's Final Smashes.

Grapple: Dimentio, despite being as flat as paper, can still grab hold of characters. He can do a "paper grapple" in which he grabs the character, throws him/her to the ground and rolls over them. Dimentio also comes with the basic kicks and punches everyone else has.

Dimentio would come with a special stage, the Dimention D, which is a simple stage with platforms and such. But, Dimentio put a spell on the stage. All slower characters move as fast as everyone else. They're no longer slow!

Notes: Being from Super Paper Mario, he's as flat as paper. He's much like Mr. Game & Watch, and if he's easy picking, Dimentio won't be that much harder.

I'd like comments about it, because this is my first time grappling this...

Ok, any idea of what time you guys would want me to do Peach?

Sweet Candace December 17th, 2009 5:34 PM

Dimentio's still a work in progress. You guys are welcome to see my progress. Be wary, there are some gaps I haven't filled in.

Sweet Candace December 19th, 2009 3:09 PM

Sorry for the double post, I've finished with my project. Dimentio's pretty much done.

Rate and critique.

Dimentio is very unique, a very nice thing to be...
But doesn't every final smash have a name?

Sweet Candace December 20th, 2009 5:45 AM

I haven't thought of a name for his Final Smash...

That part I'm stumped on...

Banjora Marxvile December 20th, 2009 1:55 PM

... Dimentio is kinda like a Jester and a guide character right, to... Forgot his name... So.. Perhaps something with "Jester" in the name? Or Clowning Around... A pun like that...

Sweet Candace December 21st, 2009 3:25 PM

Hmmm...not a bad idea about the Final Smash name.

I might stick with Joking Around, for now at least.

Munch Dog December 21st, 2009 10:01 PM

I may perhaps to a moveset for Phoenix Wright. I have a few ideas but don't expect anything super detailed. :p

Sweet Candace December 22nd, 2009 3:51 PM

I'd try it. It's not as hard as it was before I tried mine.

Eventually, I'll try another.

TheAppleFreak December 22nd, 2009 5:12 PM

So...
Apparently, the original SSB came out as a Virtual Console game today for $10.

I'm downloading it eventually. Definitely.

Munch Dog December 22nd, 2009 6:07 PM

No need for me to download it since I still have my 64 copy. :p

Sweet Candace December 23rd, 2009 12:56 PM

Maybe, I'll try it. But right now, I don't have the capabilities.

Banjora Marxvile December 24th, 2009 2:55 AM

Got my N64, so I'm OK. And also, I found it a bit... well, not harder, but difficult to play after Brawl (no Air Dodges, smash charging, Side Bs, grabbing items whilst running or in the air...),

Sweet Candace December 24th, 2009 7:18 AM

Yeah. That would be a problem. I mean, you know SSBB by heart and now you can play SSB without all the tricks you learned in Brawl.

Munch Dog December 24th, 2009 11:37 AM

It is quite a bit different but it's not too hard to adjust, at least for me it's not. :p

Sweet Candace December 26th, 2009 11:25 AM

Yeah, it would take readjusting to the SSB style of fighting. It's completely different (in some aspects) from SSBB.

Any of you like to brawl sometime later today or tomorrow?

Munch Dog January 2nd, 2010 9:43 AM

Depends on where ya live. If you're too far away from Northeast Texas (like outside of continental US) then no. Otherwise, sure why not.

Super Smash Kid January 2nd, 2010 9:49 AM

I live in Illinois so it should work. Here is my FC 2751 1961 3275

Sweet Candace January 3rd, 2010 6:58 AM

Azale, welcome to the club! I'm fairly confident you'll be able to face someone on Wi-Fi in this club.

Banjora Marxvile January 27th, 2010 11:47 AM

Woah, this has been rather... Inactive!

Ermm... More thought into who should be in Brawl - at least Birdo as an enemy! She gets o attention nowadays...
