shiny charmander how do you get it

is it possible to get shiny charmander without using gameshark and how

Aaryn October 1st, 2004 8:02 AM

of course itrs possible, all you havce to do is sve before choosing his pokeball, and take it, if its not shiny, reset if it is keep it! prob of geting it would be somethin around 1/8500 or so

good luck!

Mr Cat Dog October 1st, 2004 9:42 AM

Luck. That's it basically. It's all down to chance and stuff. Like Aaryn said above, save before you select the PokeBall, open it, and if it's not shiny, reset and try again. It will take ages though... if you're not lucky that is. Many people want a shiny female Pokemon too, since they'll be able to breed it... but that would take double the odds, which are about 1/8000 (or 1/16000 if you want a specific gender).

Actually, if you want Gender Specific pokemon, then you have to actually have to buy a different game. FireRed=Female, LeafGreen=Male (I shoulda gotten FireRed) It doesn't matter how many times you reset, it will always turn up male / female according to the cartrige. Shinies are rare, and they're just to gloat, nothing special about them, I suggest you don't waste your time and / or just mass breed them when you get the chance. It took me three hours to try and get a Shiney Mewtwo and I still didn't get one, whereas my friend got his RIGHT when he approched the critter. [Mewtwo hates me anyways] So, don't really hold your breathe for a shiney, because the unpredictable will happen [Raichu 29 gets a critical hit on a Tengala 39 with 3/4 life and kills it instantaneously] Or, you trade them to a friend for a pokemon you don't have. The important thing is, if you're going to try is to NOT GET BORED OF THE GAME BECAUSE OF IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Okies? Good luck on your shiney hunting. Btw, should this just go in "SIMPLE QUESTIONS"? Seems like one...

_Chris_ October 1st, 2004 2:24 PM

no it doesnt, i have both fire red and leaf green and both have female starters (i have them) also it doesnt matter which starter it is in which cartridge, you can get female or males in either

AdamHays October 1st, 2004 2:31 PM

good luck hope you find one soon, cause its gonna be a really long time, probably XD.

What would happen if you traded a shiny from LeafGreen to FireRed?

_Chris_ October 1st, 2004 2:42 PM

nuthin it would be exactly the same excepted be traded

No it doesn't... it's nothing like that. I got male starters first time around on both... The cartridge has nothing... and will have nothing to do with the gender of Pokemon... Where did you get this information from??? o_O

Toothache October 1st, 2004 11:56 PM

Besides, the odds of a female starter is 1 in 8, so if you want a female shiny starter, the odds are 1 in 64,000 (probably higher).

Stuffman October 2nd, 2004 11:54 AM

What`s the point of gameshark anyways? whats the point in playing? you know your going to win so why?

!Dragonite! October 2nd, 2004 12:18 PM

Because some thing can only be gottin wit the gameshark. That would be the only reason I would use one, but I don't.

kirby00 October 2nd, 2004 7:17 PM

hey u dont need 2 start out w/ a female, jsut breed a male w/ ditto till u get female... i mean maybe take longer, but it is another alternative

PazzKat October 2nd, 2004 11:39 PM

Okay, so my now EX-Friend gave me some bad info. >_o; Well, I never got a Female starter so I dealt with it, proceeded, and breeded and yet...i never got a female. ^_^;;;; Darn my luck. And, the only difference if you trade is the fact it will have "OT" different, and will gain more EXP, "boosted". They should have kept the different sprites for the different game, ads a little "NO FAIR! YOURS LOOKS SO MUCH COOLER I WANTY!" And yeah.... anyways, this friend who gave me false information is no longer my friend (literally). Sorry for the misinfo guys.

Tzuri17 October 3rd, 2004 2:18 AM

If you can get a shiny charmander at the beggining then it should work with squirtel and bulba. anyway does anyone here got a shiny pokemon at the beggining?

Sarck45 October 3rd, 2004 2:25 AM

well not me... the chances to get one are very very low...

but this can happen..

RoMeRz October 3rd, 2004 7:48 AM

ive never known anyone to get one by chance, ever.

have fun - dont wear out your power button :>

_Chris_ October 3rd, 2004 7:57 AM

Yes you can get a shiny bulbasaur or squirtle. All pokemon can be shiny.

Cyclops October 3rd, 2004 9:36 AM

I got a female starter. It is possible to get both genders for all the starters, and for those starters to be shiny. The odds for Male/Female are 87.5%/12.5% and the odds for a shiny are very low indeed.... It's posted above somewhere. But it is possible. with patience. Good luck trying for it!

PazzKat October 6th, 2004 7:11 PM

Yeah, don't wear out your power button either, if your going to reset until you get a shiney, do a soft reset, (all buttons but the shoulders) and it's easier for the hardware, and the soft ware. ^_^

i've been searching for my Shiny Gastly for a few weeks now. i've easily seen atleast three thousand Gastly's come up un-shiny. i have sixty thousand plus more times to go =/

it's all about LUCK! ;D

_Chris_ October 6th, 2004 8:18 PM

I hope you get the shiny ghastly.

PazzKat October 6th, 2004 8:46 PM

You have my support all the way! Good luck on your shiney gastly hunting. P.M. -- If you get SWEET SCENT it will increase your encounter rate, thus throwing your shiney possibility higher. Hope you get one! (Wishes she could get a cute pokemon, but that's probably imposs.-

Mine isnt female and i have FR
I wish it was

Toothache October 7th, 2004 6:32 PM

DarkCharizard, that's not true. The gender is determined randomly each time you pick up the Pokeball. You can get females on either version, but the males are more common.
