Who got tricked by a Pokékid?
Who got tricked by a few kids dressed as Pokémon? I saw this little Pikachu, alone on a bridge on my way to Solaceon Town. I felt real sympathy for it, so went up to, it saying: "Hi there, little Pikachu, are you lost?" and when I spoke to it, he cried out: "Hi, I'm a Pokémon! Let's battle!" Who's ever had that done to them?
I have the first play-through of Diamond, but I got cute to it and am now very cautious of approaching pokémon 'loose' in the field unless it's a scripted encounter (like Giratina).
Once or twice yes.. I thought I was going to catch a Pikachu and it was of those darn kids ahah xD
Sadly, a few times in Diamond. I just got Platnium not 5 minutes ago and I plan not to talk to any Pikachus -.-
Haha, every time. But mostly because your eyes get used to seeing trainer sprite after trainer sprite you perk up to see something colorful.
Not...anymore, that happened to me once on the bridge and another time in the Pikachu fanclub thing, but not anymore after that. xD
Once, when I saw my first PokéKid. I talk to everyone and check everything, so of course I talked to the Pikachu. I was surprised to see it was a Trainer, but didn't mind because I always battle every Trainer anyway. Yeah, I'm... thorough. XD
Quote:
That happend to me either XD |
"Bika bika bika!! Pigachu!!"
"Pika...I'll need more practice to become a real Pikachu..." Heehee, I like the Pika kids. The music right before you battle 'em is cute too. :D |
I did the 1st time, but no sweat I proceeded to deal the usual beatdown I give to trainers.
I did, the first time I played Diamond. I actually thought it was the Pokemon itself.
Oh well, It's fine for me because I aim to beat all the trainers when I play any Pokemon game. |
Ok, I'll admit it, I fell for the bridge Pikachu too. I was all like "Hey, what's this?" only to be greeted by "Hi hi, I'm a Pokémon!"
same here...oooooh a pikachu,wait your no pikachu...
Haha I was kind of expecting to catch an awesome Pikachu but I was sorely mistaken. I didnt really mind battling but I was dissapointed :O
I've never seen them in Diamond. They're near Solacenn town?
I believe there is only one, on the bridge on the route connecting Solaceon to i believe Hearthrome?
lol I actually thought it was a wild Pikachu or something - so I got a bunch of Pokeballs from Solaceon and came back... -facepalm-
my friend Dray saw one... He pressed A, the kid spoke, and in the middle of quiet time in English, he yelled out loud ,"DID THAT PIKACHU JUST TALK TO ME?!''
Quote:
but yes i got tricked a few times |
They still get me! x.x I took a double take when I first saw it. I was like, "wtfudge?" |
I ran.....I never trust random Pikachu's!!!! >_<
Yeah, several times. First time was on Route 209, the Pikachu cosplayer..
yes. I thought that Pikachu could be a pokemon like Rotom= =|||
On the first time, yes. XD; Then, after that, I remembered. :P

anyone remember the trainers hideing behind the fake trees in saphire neer fortree city |
Of course,
I had never seen that kind of trainer before, so yeah, I thought it was a Pikachu |
STORY ALERT
It was a wonderful day. Sunny skies, clear blue water, an array of trainers young and old out for a stroll and the occasional battle with their pirzed Pokemon. I was walking through the reformed wilds on the outskirts of Hearthome City. I walked and battled a few trainers. Nothing special, just like every other day. And then, I saw a Pikachu. I saw a cute, little, yellow Pikachu. I had known that Pikachu were not native to this area. I stopped and asked myself, "Wait, who's cute Pikachu could that be? Surely someone must be missing it." I walked over to it, and it was calm and did not seem frightened. It did not run away or attack me, so assumed it must have belonged to a trainer and was used to being around people. I spoke to it, trying to keep it from finding me a threat. It turned to me, I noticed it seemed alert and pleased with itself. It opened it mouth and I expected it to utter it's name in a feeble attempt to communicate with me. To my surprise, however, it spoke words. The Pikachu spoke human words in perfect english. It sounded like a human child as it said something along the lines of, "I'm a Pokemon!" I heard music start to play. Music that I was all too familliar with. I heard music that signalled the start of a trainer battle. Could this Pikachu be its own trainer? No, impossible. That just couldn't be! My vision began to fade. My world went black. Then, LIGHT! I got a closer, more clear look at this peculiar Pikachu's face. I noticed that I had been tricked, by a young child dressed as a Pokemon. I , the one trainer who was destined to save this entire region, had been unwillingly roped into a battle at the hands of a mere child! I felt so foolish for falling into this simple trap. How had I not known beforehand? Surely there must have been some kind of feature I overlooked in the confusion. A sign that could have distinguished this child from a genuine Pokemon. Even now, I fail to remeber such a sign. Ever since that humiliating event, I have been unable to approach a lone Pokemon. I am just too cautious, too afraid of what I may find. When I think of all the Pokemon encounters that I have missed out on due to that crafty child, I cry a little inside. I curse that child. My life had been ruined, ruined by a child who only wanted a battle. Thinking back, I regret that I had to defeat the child's Pokemon in such a one-sided fight. I had not thought of restraint at the time, I was blined by rage. Thinking of what could have been, if it had only been a Pikachu. |
I've Been Tricked By Him Once. But In Platinum But Still Battled Him.
Oh my goodness! That totally happened to me as well the first time I played Diamond! I had no idea that it was a trainer. I thought someone lost their Pokemon (Keira had just had her Buneary run away when I reached Hearthome, but I stopped it.) I thought the Pikachu belonged to someone. Then, I spoke to it and it talked back. Before I knew it, I was in a battle. My Pokemon were weak. I should have went to a Pokemon center. I shut off my game, healed my Pokemon and went back to battle the Pokekid. (I never want to lose to a trainer/pokemon in a game.) I just have to shut off my game when I lose. Then turn it back on until I win.
Just that kid in that house near Sunyshore that has a house full of pikachu.
I think I did get tricked by a Pokekid once but maybe not I don't remember.
Yeah. I just go 'D8' when it happens.
Yeah I first talked to it incase you could battle it, and I wanted to catch a pikachu.
Nah, I kinda looked at the trainer sprites before I bought the game, and saw them in there, so I kinda ruined that for me... HAHA...
I was wondering how could there be a Pikachu on a bridge? (you know the Route right of Hearthome)
Well, obviously I talk to it... T.T |
Yeah I saw one and talked to it hoping to catch it.
I was like ZOMGWTF NO EVENT PIKACHOO? |
Quote:
I was like "B-battle?! You have Pokémon?" until I figured it out as the battle started. |
No i didn't fall for it why would I.
Its kinda obvious. |
I didn't use the booklet for the game. My brother hogged it. He didn't let me use it until after I beat the game. I assumed there would have actually been an overworld sprite of a Pikachu with a human face when I saw the sprite of her on spriters-resource. I didn't think she would actually be a Pikachu. I got tricked only that one time on the route to Solaceon. After that, never again.
I got tricked the first time I played Diamond but it's been pretty obvious ever since.
The first time I ever seen a pokekid I got tricked, but know that I knew they are Pokekids (more like pokelosers), they no longer trick me
:t354:TG |
I have a couple of times xD
But not anymore |
When I first played diamond there was one by the water on a bridge in a pikachu costume. I thought it was an actual pikachu so I went up to it, pressed A then went into a pokemon battle only to find out it was just some Pokekid. I sort of got annoyed after that.
-Raises hand- Guilty as charged. They caught me once out and about and the one in the pokecenter was surprising (although it's a choice to fight). Hahaha yeah i was so pissed after being caught by that trap. Looked... so... real!
lol I thought the pikachu trainer was going to give me an item
I obviously did, with that Pikachu xD In the first play through of Diamond. But then, who /would/ have expected it to be a trainer and not an actual Pokemon? :3
I thought it might've been some side-quest thing or whatever, you know, bring the Pikachu back to it's trainer. But nope, it was some kid obsessed with Pikachus and even dressed up as one. |
only the first time. I saw a Pikachu standing there and I was like WOW!! but it was a stupid little trainer...
I still get tricked by the ninja kids that jump out of the ground though. Scare the crap out of me!! |
It's always that first imposter. I figured, like everyone else, that it was going to be somewhat story-relevant. But then it wasn't, and I was like-
"Hi, Hi! I'm a-" *Punt* *Splash!* And I haven't trusted a single overworld Pikachu to be what it looks like since. |
I half expected it, because whether they were in Gold or Silver, I can vaguely remember some kids dressing up as pokemon. Plus the guys in Rock Tunnel in the FR/LG games. They have the half suit. I figured it was either a PokeFreak or a special pikachu.
I was tricked once: in Platinum by the kid in that house full of Pikachu, on the route to Sunyshore.
I don't expect actual Pikachu to be in the overworld unless with a trainer, so no =/
Lol the first time a played diamond i did. Now i do it so i can beat up pikachu
Quote:
yea its happened to me, your meaning that pikachu on the bridge as you go to Solaceon town, he has a nice custome though wonder where he got it... anyway it was kind of scary when i first played through the game, but now i take a bit more care before talking to pokemon like charcters. |
yes, i admit i fell for them once or twice. It's like "Cool, its a pikachu" then it says "Let's battle". I felt so stupid.
Now I'm more cautious. I only go up to them if i actually want to battle them |
I got tricked by Sparky Pikachu. ?______?;
I thought this was a topic about another member scamming someone, but it turns out we're talking about fake pokemons in the game. Yes, I got tricked by that kid in the Pika-suit on the bridge before Solaceon. Haha. |
Hahaha, when my first play on Pearl...
I was tricked too. I was thinking that "the Pikachu" might be something special, like knowing special moves(that a normal ones can't learn) or something... Or might be roaming Pokemon, as I first saw it, it reminisces me Suicune from Crystal. |
I always get tricked by them.... Well the first time. LOL
I did I thought I was going to catch a pikachuxD
I was tricked, too. I thought it was just like any other Pokemon one sees wandering around that would just say their names. But what caught me even more were the ninja boys that hide underground in between Solaceon Town and Celestic Town.
i was tricked but then i talk to everyone to get exp so i didnt mind when it was a trainer :)
I did, I thought it was a Pikachu, damn trainerbattle
I did. I think everybody got tricked by a Pikachu-dressed kid in that house many bunch Pikachu near Sunyshore City.
The first time i saw one i was like 'Yes! special pickachu!' went and pressed a on it, and was like 'wat the freakin heck, what kind of sick joke is this!'
Stupid kid. |
*slowly raises hand*
They are annoying >< |
Good news! I beat Platinum and did not battle a Pokekid! Hmm, ooo a Pikachu in the PokeCenter! Must be lost! Wait... oh darn it...
Once or twice, although I have all three games.
These things frustrate me much less than the ninjas behind trees in Hoenn.
The only time this has happened to me was in the Pokecenter. I saw a Pikachu by the counter, and hit A repeatedly, only to get into a battle.....
Quote:
They we're almost impossible to see coming. |
I fell for that so many times. Darn imposters!
that happened to me too:p
First time in Diamond, i thought 'YES!!Free Pokemon!'....Then it turned out to be that Arceus denmad Pokekid. And I fell for it....every single time...
I only got tricked like that ONCE and that was in the house full of Pikachu.
Only once but when I did it sure got me.
Yeah, it happened to me. I saw one on a route and I said "huh, a pikachu?" Intrigued I talked to it and then I was like "*sigh* Oh, a trainer"
i knew it was a trainer
and it had a pichu with it it should have been pikachu... but oh well |
The easiest way to remember is that unless you know it's a part of the plot, Pokemon don't just sit outside in random places.
Oh yeah. That happened to me. I remember it like it was yesterday...
I was walking along when I saw a Pikachu. "Ooh! I'm gonna talk to it!" I didn't think I could catch it, since you couldn't really catch overworld Pokemon unless they were legendary or that Drifloon. I expected it to say something like "Pika Pika," but instead it said, "I'm a Pokemon. Let's battle!" At first I was excited. "Sweet! A talking Pokemon! I'm gonna catch it!" But of course, my dreams were soon crushed as it turned out to be a trainer... Just kidding. I'm not that dumb. But, it'd be funny if someone tried to catch the trainer. XD |
I don't remember my first encounter, but I remember going "WTF?" when an exclamation point popped up above the Pikachu's head.
I was just simply having a WT moment with it.
I wanted to kick it and be all "BEGONE UGLY LITTLE PERSON." |
I have never fallen for that but last year my friend did. I told him a he should get a pikachu and he kept looking and looking. When he saw that pikachu on the bridge he thought it was a real pokemon, not a trainer. He told me all of this on a field trip bus.
yeah. there so annoying. Them and those Ninja Boys. I just feel like taking my mining kit and battering there hidden heads with it.
I've been tricked a few times by those kids, but only when they're well hidden. |
lol yea i got caught by one... never went near another one again.
