How do you get your pokemon to level 100?

I've recently been browsing around these forums, and I have noticed that in every trade thread most pokemon are level 100.

Now in all my hours of playing i have only achieved to get 2 pokemon to level 100 legitimately (A zangoose and a dragonite )

So i was wondering how is everyone around here managing to get so many to level 100, I can hack in rare candies, or just straight up pokeSAV to level 100, but i want to keep them legit.

Are most people here using hacked rare candies, or do you all just have to much time on you hands :P

Arc July 19th, 2009 3:34 PM

well some of us pokemon players are pretty dedicated to playing pokemon lol, so that maybe one of the reason, ;]

23 July 19th, 2009 3:39 PM

lol I guess we dedicate are selfs to traing

Niprop July 19th, 2009 5:12 PM

I pull a "Okay, I'm going to level this poke from 1 to 100, no sweat, no problem, yep. Well, here goes nothing!"

*Straps a exp. Share onto said pokémon and then charges in to the Elite 4 room and zones out*

"Woah, that was funky...Time to do it again!"

*Rinse and repeat*

dotKarma July 19th, 2009 5:24 PM

To beat my friends in a battle, I leveled up 6 pokemon to level 100 using hacked rare candies, but I have never actually trained any of my pokemon up to level 100 legally (yet, I restarted on Pearl and my Empoleon is gonna be a tank). I was close on my last game with a level 97 Empoleon, except it got deleted (I use an r4 for Platinum)

EDIT: Judging from what the others say, a lucky egg on the pokemon while sweeping the elites could do me well...

Lucky eggs help immensely as well ^-^
Also the pokerus comes into play as well as the extra EXP gained from trading pokes.

NarutoActor July 19th, 2009 5:45 PM

when I was young I played pokemon non stop now I play it when new games come out so I migrated all my level pokemon to diamond

GOLD.FTW July 19th, 2009 5:53 PM

just use that certain Pokemon to fight the elite 4 over and over. works for me =P

mew² July 19th, 2009 7:15 PM

Simple. Put a Lucky Egg on one Pokemon that you are training and an Exp Share on another and wipe through the E4. Best way I believe.

Calvo819 July 19th, 2009 7:24 PM

but it doesnt help with EVS

what i do is EV train starting from LV 1 to 30.

then E4 the **** out of the pokemons

lol

yup, i use the same technique.

use thief on a bunch of chansey to get ur lucky egg.
if u have a pokemon with the ability Compoundeyes at the front of ur party, it apparantly ups ur chances of running into a chansey that is holding a lucky egg.

I believe he may not mind EV values if he is asking how we train Pokemon so fast.

ah...

i tried EV Training my Aggron (which i leveld up from aron though E4) for Special Defense, but apparently, i wasted all the EV's

im still pissed

Ayselipera July 19th, 2009 8:18 PM

I did it once.
Never again.

Sweet Smoochum July 19th, 2009 9:10 PM

First I get some of my Pokemon (from Emerald/LeafGreen) and get them to level 60s. Then migrate them over and constantly rebattle the gym leaders in Battleground, battle the Elite Four, battle my rival. (I've got some Platinum pokemon to level 100 by battling the same way.) I also train my Pokemon in the area you can access after the Elite Four by taking the boat in Snowpoint to the new area. (Survival area, Resort area, etc.)

So far, I have Dragonite, Infernape, Floatzel, Togekiss, Vaporeon all at level 100. Some are in the level 90s.

falkon July 19th, 2009 9:39 PM

Well i think i am going to start spamming The E4...

I haxxed some lucky eggs :( but now i can level up faster.

I just now beat the E4 for the second time, they are so difficult after the first run, but ATM the closest to level 100 i have is a level 76 dragonite EV'd to :) (Attack-252 HP-158 Speed-100 not the best spread but hey, it works (outspeeds most pokemon and can take a hit!))

I am using my awesome dragon team (2 Adamant dragonites, 1 - Adamant salamance , garchomp, palkia :( , and my golduck :) )

Im planning on training up another EV'd adamant dragonite with better IV's but i think Ill wait until the first can sweep the E4!

COLD HARD TRAINING!!
rare candies are a no-go they might level up pokemon
but does not lv up stats
just train,i train my pokemon at the shark mountan
or you can just throw them in the day care and run around
for a while!

ChronicEdge July 19th, 2009 9:52 PM

I chain them to a wall and flay them until they bend to my will.

So you are planning to train EV :| Did not know that. Well then, I wouldn't try the E4. Here, check here.

It might help you, I could be wrong.

LethalTexture July 19th, 2009 11:49 PM

This belongs in General, so I'll move it there.

*moves*

But as people have said, simply get your Pokémon to grab a Lucky Egg and make a fine paste out of the Elitre Four a few times. It's not actually that difficult to get a Lv. 100 Pokémon.

Cooltrainer Nick♂ July 20th, 2009 2:38 AM

Usually once you've trained a certain pokemon to level... 70-75? You can beat the Elite Four with just that one pokemon.
If you give that Pokemon a Lucky Egg to hold, level 100 doesn't take much longer from then on. :]

Routes 225, 226, 227, 228, 229, 230, and the big ol' bit of grass just past Spring Path are all great places to get to level 75ish.
They're not so bad for EV training either, there's a big variety of pokemon in those routes.
:]

Not in platinum, after beating the E4 once, i think the strongest pokemon in it is a lvl 78 garchomp.

:3 July 20th, 2009 11:53 AM

The first time I ever got a level 100 Pokemon was my Blaziken in Pokemon Ruby.
Ah, I miss that game.

What I do is just go to The E4 a whole bunch :p

FreakyLocz14 July 20th, 2009 1:03 PM

If EVs are no object use Lucky Egg and go through the Elite Four multiple times, or use Exp. Share if the Pokemon isn't strong enought to handle the Elite Four yet, put the Exp Share Pokemon first than switch out immediately and it will get full experience instead of half.

If you're into cheat, you can duplicate Rare Candies.

If you EV train once you have the EV spread you desire, it doesn't matter how you level up your Pokemon, even Rare Candies won't hurt you.

VickyDragon July 20th, 2009 1:06 PM

i usually just fight the elite 4 more, train where the stronger trainers and battle them again, exp.share etc

IcyArceusRider July 20th, 2009 1:14 PM

I'm one of those pokemon players who just has waaaay too much time on her hands.

I train all my level 100s legitimately--I don't like to use the Rare Candies cheat. I usually train by using the EXP. Share or a Lucky Egg, and battling against the strong trainers in the Battle Zone and the Pokemon League.

^^

Then again, if I'm EV training, that usually takes a little more time for me....

Game Over1375 July 20th, 2009 1:17 PM

Dude, I'm a proud EV trainer. I level up early on at different spots, and when my Pokemon are around level 65-70, time to take on the Elite Four.

Brendonwii July 20th, 2009 10:32 PM

I level them up by exp share and elite four

shadow_clone147 July 21st, 2009 3:01 AM

my platinum training method makes me finish a pokemon in about 2 days

Daycare Center to Lv 30
EV train around 30-34
train to 65
send to my Pearl
Stomp the league with said pokemon holding Lucky Egg

Greene1516 July 21st, 2009 4:18 AM

I don't train to level 100 because it is 100% pointless.

atrend July 21st, 2009 5:02 AM

E4+ rival. And, for the 3rd generation, I used Mt. Battle in XD/Colosseum to level. It was fun and fast: I was training my Metagross there for the the end boss in (you know, that little man), but I kept playing and suddenly it was above lv. 80, so I decided to level it to lv. 100.

O_o
Does it get harder second time round?
That's pretty cool if it does.
I've only beaten them once so far on Platinum, I was just racing through the story so I could start breeding to get a good team and stuff. :]

Rocka210 July 23rd, 2009 3:26 AM

What you do is for diamond pearl or platinum
you put the pokemon in the daycare and go to flugio ironworks
then go into the building
Find a block that sends you to the right into a wall
Put pressure on the left arrow so you're walking left
Come back in a few hours and because you stepped so much in the time
you have a level 100 or a lower level deppending on how long you left it there

Warning this requires lots of money

Aro-kun July 23rd, 2009 5:59 AM

I don't. lol I use the level 100 feature on wifi. I just level them up enough so that they know all the attacks i want them to know. But if i had to get them to 100, I would fight the elite four over and over again, or use the vs seeker (in diamond, their pokemon go up to lvl 60! maybe higher too?)

~Prodigy~ July 23rd, 2009 6:09 AM

Eventually the highest level Trainer Team is Your Rivals. He'll battle you each weekend and his team gets really strong

fenyx4 July 23rd, 2009 6:29 AM

Simple. I train legitimately like there's no tomorrow until boredom ravages my mind. :D
(I'll elaborate later...)

But really, one of DPPt's biggest losses was the feature in RSE Secret Bases where you could train against and battle your friends once daily. Imagine fighting 6 Blisseys in a row with Lucky Egg attached (and if applicable, Exp. Share is held by another party Pokemon). Repeat multiple times. Very rapid training if you ask me. It might get boring seeing Blisseys, sure, but that's what the Battle Tower/Frontier is for! ;)

chickengamer July 23rd, 2009 8:39 AM

well i am in the middle of training my pokes, i have lucky egg on he main i am training, and exp share on all the others in my party, its slower but i find its quicker to do more at once then 6 at diff times, i use rare candies if i can find them, i dont use cheats though, sometimes i trade for them but very rarely
