Moves Never Shown In The Anime

I find it strange that the anime team only focuses on a few moves and forget to use others altogether! For example, when have we ever seen moves like Baton Pass or Magic Coat used? D:

Hopefully they make full use of the MANY interesting moves in Pokemon! Post some that you haven't seen and want to see. And for those of you who HAVE seen them, please try to show us the episode! ^_^

Infernape July 22nd, 2009 7:32 PM

That is a good point. I want to see u-turn actually.

Jorah July 23rd, 2009 5:23 AM

Have we ever seen Substitute? I don't think we have?

fenyx4 July 23rd, 2009 6:22 AM

OK, how could they not show Blast Burn or Rock Wrecker?! :cer_confused:

They have shown substitute, in the Shaymin and Giratina movie, shaymin uses substitute to escape Giratina
Anyways, i would love to see Hydro Cannon and Blast Burn used, Frenzy Plant has been used plenty of times

Vernikova July 23rd, 2009 5:06 PM

Thunder Bolt.

Stealth Rock would be awesome to see. I would very much enjoy seeing rocks fly around and smashing into people. Another move would be Return or Frustration.

Miror B. July 23rd, 2009 5:33 PM

Toxic Spikes, please.

Don't deny the awesomeness that would be Toxic Spikes in the anime.

Of course, this post is epic fail if they HAVE used it in the anime.

Samme! July 23rd, 2009 5:37 PM

I'm pretty sure Barry's Empoleon knew Hydro Cannon and I vividly remember seeing it being used.

You remember correctly. It was used in DP 101.

If I remember correctly, Stealth Rock was used. Pillars of rocks are stuck onto the floor or something, and when a Pokemon is sent out, the rocks activate and slam at the Pokemon.

It was... DP015?

Satoshi Ookami July 23rd, 2009 10:06 PM

Yes Stealth Rock was used by Roark's Onix
Um were Tail Whip or other stats reducing moves shown?

Tail whip was used by Squirtle but it did damage like a tail like whip not lower the opponent's defense.

I'd like to see Roar of Time and Spacial Rend used, I know Dialga has been in 2 movies and Palkia one and they're both starring in the upcoming movie but still I don't remember seeing these moves

Azumi July 23rd, 2009 11:07 PM

I've seen Defense Curl, used by Max's borrowed Azurill/Marill (?) in the Roxanne debut episode.

That's the only stat-related move I remember.

Jorah July 24th, 2009 6:11 AM

Psyduck has used Tail Whip in the biker gang episode, but it looked more like it was supposed to be an attack. Other stat moves like Swords Dance, Screech, Sand Attack and Double Team have been used

FreakyLocz14 July 24th, 2009 11:28 AM

Fissure, Sheer Cold, Horn Drill, Guillotine
You know the one-hit knockout moves. I'm sure at least one of them have been used before but they're all cool.

The Jewel of Life July 24th, 2009 12:58 PM

Okay, I agree with wanting to see new moves in the show, but how do you know they wont turn out suckish? Ever since darkrai came out I had wanted to see dark void used in the anime but when I did it wasn't even remotly cool. Dark void looks better in the game.

As for a move that I would like to see... well I dont watch pokemon that much so I haven't seen many episodes, so basically I'm saying there is a 99.99% chance that this has been featured... but I want to see extrasensory.

Stealth Rock was used in DP15, the battle with Hyouta and Shinji.

ShinjisLover July 24th, 2009 2:08 PM

No, Nando's Budew used Mega Drain, not Absorb.

Trap-Eds July 24th, 2009 2:50 PM

Struggle. That'd be interesting to see...like maybe a Pokemon would be too tired to attack any other way?

cayr July 24th, 2009 3:03 PM

any of the porygon special moves:conversion,conversion2 and sharpen
because since the episode that caused a bunch of kids convulsions was with porygon as the star for some reason(even tough it was pikachu that caused it for tundershocking a missile and causing convulsion images from the explosion) thay havent shown a porigon,porigon2 or porigonz ever since not even as another trainer poke or in an opening...

gothboyz1992 July 25th, 2009 12:25 AM

I also think that Barry's Empoleon knew Hydro Cannon!!!

ShinjisLover July 25th, 2009 6:05 AM

It seems that Absorb has been used by a wild Tangrowth in the most recent Japanese episode I've viewed. Now if only they'd let us see Shadow Force~

Yeah, I'd like to see some of the HMs, like Strength or Dive.

Dr_Zeus July 25th, 2009 6:21 AM

would be cool to see them show some other moves, always imagined what they looked like

Strength was used in A Tent Situation and also in Pokémon Contest! Tatsunami Tournament!!, a Japanese episode not yet dubbed in English.[/center]

I re-watched the episode and you're both right. It was quite un-impressive.

I swear that I've seen Metal Burst and Sketch before. Sketch in a Johto episode and Metal Burst very recently. Maybe from Byron's Bastiodon. It was a shiny ball and stuff but that might just be my memory.

Mirror Move - Ash's Pidgeot used it in the first season
Kinesis - Sabrina's Kadabra used it plenty of times, just not as a move, but an action
Softboiled
Leech Life - The Amazing Mandy's Golbat used this on Ash's Kingler but he knocked it out with Hyper Beam first.
Barrage - Again, The Amazing Mandy. His Eggsecutor (sp?) used it on Ash's Krabby while it was stuck in the Psychic whirlpool and prevented Ash from calling Krabby back into its Pokeball.
Struggle
Sketch - Smeargle episode. Not all moves have commands. It was a Smeargle action.
Thief - Team Rocket? xD
Mind Reader
Nightmare - Darkrai.
Curse
Snore
Conversion 2
Reversal
Spite
Powder Snow - Pretty sure this was used in a Johto episode. Swinub and the Hot Springs?

Sleep Talk
Return
Pain Split
Sacred Fire
Baton Pass

Bring on the trick room! (not likely, as its a sorta signature move of porygon-z)

mew² July 25th, 2009 10:44 PM

I haven't seen Shaymin's Seed Flare. But let me guess, debuted on Sky Warrior?

Niprop July 25th, 2009 10:58 PM

I know Conversion2 will most likely NEVER be used, unless Porygon and friends will somehow be re-allowed into the anime. And Trick Room might be used, but it most likely would not be used by Porygon-Z, its only true user!

Demigod July 26th, 2009 12:22 AM

-The only pokemon that can learn sacred fire by leveling up is Ho-oh so it's normal :<
-Didn't a pokemon used outrage? i am pretty sure..

either i am mistaking or right =/
