Well, I think it's a story, yes, but I only had to read the exerpt where Grendel actually FIGHTS Beowulf and DOES something.

Yeah. It's a novel. About 176 pages I believe.

174 actually. "Poor Grendel's had an accident, [...] So may you all" (Gardner, 174). 8D /arm gets torn off for acting pretentious

TSUBAKIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII :DDDDD

/Tsubaki

Well, now I not only have a hero for my report, my mom also gave me various things I can refer to, not to mention a book by another hero she thought of.

And we read a long summary of Beowulf last year. This year, we only had to read a few excerpts and the rest was summarized (namely the battle between Beowulf and Grendel's mother and the battle between Beowulf and the Dragon).

Dogboy2709 September 27th, 2010 5:56 PM

When i was in highschool, I remember going to see a Beowolf Movie in 3D with my Resource Room english class.

I was just extremely lazy during the time of Beowulf. xD; Soyeah.

jigglyppuff8 September 27th, 2010 6:39 PM

Beowulf is like a bedtime story to me. Nothing's changed since we had to read the super abridged version in 7th grade. :<

Your speech class goes that late? How long have you been in it so far?

Eucliffe September 28th, 2010 11:33 AM

Nyaaa, no Religion class today thanks to Gov./Econ.~ Only thing I'm worried about is the Religion test Thursday and the paper for that due Friday D:

Oh well, I'm better off working under pressure anyhow~

Actually, it's not so confusing once you get the general idea of what it's like.

Here, I'll show you my schedule (which'll be an attachment).

I really enjoyed Geography today. Apparently, I have a passion for development and the various relationships between economics, politics, and other things. Might look into pursuing that >.> I'm sure Netto would love having someone with which to have such discussions with.

Tests are fun, though~! /shot

30.

test are horrible. unless you get unlimited tries.

Eucliffe September 28th, 2010 1:50 PM

31

Since I have a learning difference, I get extra time to take my tests, plus because I have test anxiety, I can go into a different room to take my test <3

And I like the diagonal, especially on D-Days and F-Days.

Riku September 28th, 2010 2:03 PM

32

I'm the person who *generally* aces or at the very least does really well on tests without studying =X I usually attribute that to my paying attention in class, but a little luck affects that. Another thing I accredit it to is my unusual ability to decipher problems and questions and glean the answers, however vaguely, from the questions themselves >.> School just comes naturally to me. *shrugs*

Eucliffe September 28th, 2010 2:05 PM

33

Same.

I did well on a Forensics test because I meditated after I went over the material only once.

Riku September 28th, 2010 2:10 PM

34

Seriously? The biggest problem I ALWAYS have on tests is the writing portions. It's the same for talking for me. I'll know what I'm talking about, but I can't convey those thoughts like I should at times. Hence me getting a 63.5 on that Calc exam. I was demolished not because of not knowing what I was doing, but because I didn't know so well HOW to precisely WORD what it was I was doing >.>

BTW, that's the first grade below a B I've gotten on a test in like.... ever.

Eucliffe September 28th, 2010 2:17 PM

35

Doesn't beat my 39.7 or something like that from Science in 7th grade.

7th grade = worst year ever.

alisaie September 28th, 2010 2:37 PM

36.

This test that I have just finished taking was one of the much easier tests I have ever taken. XD;

I'm smart when I try hard and pay attention to the material. Otherwise I'm lost Unless it's my Pre-Cal class. Funny story about what happened third quarter.

Riku September 28th, 2010 2:40 PM

37

7th grade sucked for me as well. That's the only time I was ever at a private Christian school. I HATED it.....

I liek teh funneh stories, Peach~! 8D

Funny, I'm now going to a private Christian school, and I LOVE IT.

Also, don't be so negative, DB. If you're negative and tell yourself these things, they really will happen. You need to think more positively~

alisaie September 28th, 2010 4:16 PM

45.

I've never went to a Private School of any sort. Only Public Schools, aye.

Eucliffe September 28th, 2010 4:21 PM

46

Now, public school is a different story.

I. DESPISE. PUBLIC SCHOOLS. I'm normally not biased, and I KNOW there are probably better public schools out there, but I still think badly of them due to my experience in 7th grade at public school. It wasn't so bad in elementary school up until 4th grade (my music teacher was out to get me, I swear), and 6th grade wasn't SO bad, but then 7th grade... Ugh. I actually thought of being bulimic that year.

alisaie September 28th, 2010 4:23 PM

47.

People say that High School is the phase that is full of drama. However, I would say that it would have to be Middle School. I had waaaay more drama during my three years of Middle than my four years of High.

Eucliffe September 28th, 2010 4:29 PM

48

I had drama during 9th grade, because that's when I moved and had a terrible time in the NC school and then moved back due to my stepdad being laid off a second time within a year of being laid off the first time.

Dark Pulse94 September 28th, 2010 4:29 PM

/does her avoiding of the Nightclub around this time, because blarg.

Don't you love it when things prove you wrong once you say/do something?

Eucliffe September 28th, 2010 4:39 PM

2

I know.

Reverse psychology ftw.

It's like when I played a Soul Calibur arcade game once, I was telling my friend he was gonna beat the final boss and he lost. Then I told myself I'd lose and I won. Even got on the bottom of the high score list.

'Course, then there are times where I joke and my jokes come true. Like on my week-long 8th grade trip, we learned about a "river goddess", and so I joked in my head that me and my canoe partner would be safe, but my best friend at the time and HIS canoe partner would capsize, but near a safe place. Guess what happened?

alisaie September 28th, 2010 4:42 PM

3.

Reverse Psychology is awesome, especially when it works~

Pfffffft. xDDDDD Reminds me of when we told my friend jokingly that if anyone was going to crash on the Go-karts it would be her. Guess what happened?

Eucliffe September 28th, 2010 4:51 PM

4

I told everyone in my group later on and they were like "...Wat. R U SRS."

The following day we were supposed to make "gifts" for someone random in our group (we didn't know who). I wanted to write a poem, but it was raining. So I asked in my head for it to stop raining just so I could finish my poem. It did stop, and as soon as I finish it started again. I also got to see a GORGEOUS rainbow, which I took a picture of <3

alisaie September 28th, 2010 4:59 PM

5.

ffffff. Awesome~! That is completely the opposite to what happened to our Marching Band one time. XD We got onto the Football Field to do our show, and it started pouring. Then right after we get off, it started simply sprinkling for the other band. :|

Then there was the time in which we had completely black clouds all around us... and it was completely sunny right above us while we were practicing. XD;

Riku September 28th, 2010 5:07 PM

Well, my experience at a Christian Private School was.... well.... if you're familiar with any of the stereotypes about Southern Baptist churches, that place was perfect to prove them. Most of the teachers were self-righteous, holier than thou hypocrites. I'm not dissing on anything, but.... phew..... Never again -_-

I liked the school I graduated at, personally. Nothing happened. Save for one kid stealing school laptops and selling them on ebay and another getting caught in possession of weed. That's it. And everyone was so nice.......

As for the reverse psychology, it rarely works for me. Then again, REGULAR psychology rarely works for me XD
Murphy's Law, on the other hand just LOVES me.... >.>

alisaie September 28th, 2010 5:08 PM

7.

My School had problems. But overall it was a nice school, with the MCCA and Dual-Enrollment programs.

... I forgot what I was just about to type.

Eucliffe September 28th, 2010 5:10 PM

8

I get off my bed for a few minutes, come back up, and find a collie on it.

Public school experience: Name calling, teasing, terrible teachers, etc. One of my friends from that school goes to the school I go to now. She can vouch for this.

alisaie September 28th, 2010 5:12 PM

9.

Sounds like you were in one of the more terrible Public Schools, as there are a wiiide range of 'em. Honestly, if it weren't for the MCCA Program and the Dual-Enrollment Program, my school would have prolly have been even more full of idiots.

Our Teachers were good though. With the exception of a few, but all schools have their terrible teachers.

Eucliffe September 28th, 2010 5:13 PM

10

Elementary school was fine. It was one of the best schools in the county, I think. Middle school may have been the same way, academically. Same with the high school, which has like 1.9k kids.

alisaie September 28th, 2010 5:16 PM

11.

I went to five Elementary Schools. XD; My Middle/High School is still relatively new (it's 10th year open was in fact this year, 2010. <3), so yeah. :U

Sad day when no one has posted in this thread since last night and it's already 2:30-something in my time zone >.<

Gettin' ready for class in an hour~~ Yay~~

alisaie September 30th, 2010 10:48 AM

21.

Eh. It happens sometimes~

/got to look at Cells today. Wheeee.

Riku September 30th, 2010 10:50 AM

22

Whee~ New theme soon~~

Coolio~ I got to learn more about the Chain Rule which I already know pretty much everything about. And in about an hour, I'm going to learn more about Economic Development. I like that topic, surprisingly >.>

alisaie September 30th, 2010 10:53 AM

23.

:O Wow.

What's the Chain Rule? /may or may not already know. But is slow, sooo...[/s]

Riku September 30th, 2010 11:00 AM

24

Do you know what derivitives are and composition functions? It's a combination of the two. You take the derivitive of a composition function.

h(x) = f(g(x))

h'(x) = f'(g(x)) * g'(x)

That's the simplest of chained funcitons >.>

BTW, what was that Wow for? =b I get new themes occasionally. Just not as often as the rest of you guys~ Xb

alisaie September 30th, 2010 11:01 AM

25.

Oh. Right. That. /knew it had something to do with math. XD
