VCR or DVD?

I like both. Which one do you like?

Sumomo & Kotoko October 4th, 2004 11:58 AM

DVD,But you can record stuff with the VCR,So I say both.
PS:I think its called VHS

!Dragonite! October 4th, 2004 12:32 PM

DVD, I have a dvd player and a portable one.

Mr Cat Dog October 4th, 2004 12:32 PM

You can record things with DVD, but they cost about double the price XD I prefer DVDs, since you can fit a lot more information on (which means special features O_O), and the quality's supposed to be better, although I doubt that. :P

Eliana October 4th, 2004 12:33 PM

I dunno. XD both I guess.....XD

Kairi October 4th, 2004 3:29 PM

DVDs are much better quality than an analog VHS anyday. o_O
I don’t even *have* a VCR or DVD player, I just use my DVD-ROM drive to watch them. Which is very rare.

Alex_ October 4th, 2004 3:33 PM

i have a tv that has both (18 inch) so i chose combo .

ryan October 4th, 2004 3:33 PM

i like both in the same machine. dvds are better for watching, but i like to record stuff on tapes still.

Kairi October 4th, 2004 3:36 PM

Ahh, but that’s what P/DVRs are for. All the better if you can take the stuff off them and put em on your HDD, or if you’re using a cap card you’ve already got it. Then you could, say, burn it to DVD. XD

DVRs are wonderful though. *glomps hers* It records it for me, and and...it's just something I can't imagine being without. o_o; TV totally changed for me, since I never really watch it, I sit down and choose what I want to watch. I've got it recording enough stuff so when I do find time I've always got something.

Claire October 4th, 2004 3:39 PM

DVDs are much better, and have so many extra features nowadays, they're great ^^
But DVD recorders are majorly expensive, so Video is best for taping things

Zapchu October 4th, 2004 3:50 PM

I want to get one of those new VCR/DVD/VCD players that they sell at Costco Wholesale. =-=; You can also record VCR=>DVD with that machine...MUST GET! The only reason I like VCR is cause it can be easily copied...not like I'm in any black market business or anything. >_>;; *runs off*

Lol, I definitely prefer DVD players. I have two, if you count my PlayStation 2, and a VCR on my TV, so I can use both. I prefer watching DVDs, though. The quality is so much better with them, and plus you get to watch the special features and other things on movies! The only problem is that it's fairly easy to scratch the discs...

The quality is much better on DVD

Anyways, I prefer DVD, but I use both.

That’s why backups *should* be legal. -.-
My mom spazzes over DVDs but never watches the special features, even if she watches the movie itself 5,000 times. *cough LotR and Moulin Rouge *

Haruka October 4th, 2004 4:54 PM

I like DVDs better because it's universal. You can see movies on a Computer, a Laptop, on a TV, or a video game console. Also, they have better quality and easier to pick what part you want to see also. ^_^

Double_eagle October 4th, 2004 5:05 PM

I have both, but, I don't know which one I like better because something is wrong with my DVD player.(When I play the DVDs it always has low volume and I can't fix it.

Arcanine October 4th, 2004 5:12 PM

DVDs is soooo much better then VHS. I have a DVD player in three of my computers, a DVD player on the main TV, a portable DVD player and my PS2.
VHS is large, looks bad and will mess up.
DVDs is small, nice color in the CDs and quality is like 10x better then VHS. But is also easy to mess up. Most of the time I rent a DVD it jumps and is messed up (stupid people that don't take care of them DVDs <_<).

AdamHays October 4th, 2004 6:21 PM

DVD is way better then the old VHS's,they have so much,as you can tell XD.il like them better cause if you want to get to a scene fast cause you really like it you dont have to waste so much time on FF,or if you missed something a while back.i wonder what they'll come up with next?

MoonLight October 4th, 2004 9:11 PM

I say both, I still have a VCR up in my room , And the DVD player is down stairs , Yeah the DVD is better because of the qualinty of the picture , but I gota still like my old VHS movies even when the VCR decides to eat the tape and I got put all the flim back in it XD

Geometric-sama October 4th, 2004 10:15 PM

I have to say VHS. Why? Well, my dad is stupid and won't let me get a DVD player >.<. And we don't have a DVD-ROM drive either o_O

espeon and umbreon October 4th, 2004 11:30 PM

I have VHS and DVD Rom. I would choose both, but for like recording things i would say VHS.

dumbthingy October 5th, 2004 6:04 AM

DVD for watching and VCR (VHS/Video 2000/Betamax) for recording temporary stuff.

Breakout October 5th, 2004 8:05 AM

I'd say DVD for watching films, and DVD for recording. My uncle has a Panasonic DVD player/recorder, and it owns.

^^NICK^^ v.3.0 October 6th, 2004 11:33 AM

I chose both. I would have picked the combo, but I have one in my living room, and it takes a while to rewind on the VHS part. I like VHS, probably more than DVDs. I used to be a tape-aholic, but I stopped taping a lot back in November/December. I have so many tons of tapes, I can't keep track of them, and I'm think of throwing them out, and starting fresh. VHS is easier to work than DVDs, IMO. But DVDs are cool for watching movies, since they are so fancy, and they make you feel special, LOL. So, yeah, both.

Gardy October 7th, 2004 12:23 PM

I chose DVD i lik more featurez and IMO it seems easier to function *sp*
