yeah, i believe the same thing you said also

its confirmed to be in it

I like Kanto, I want to see how Kanto will look with this gens graphics. I bet it will look awesome!!

Wings Don't Cry August 6th, 2009 8:58 PM

I think Kanto is necessary I know some pokemon fans who haven't even heard of Kanto(not much of fans) since they only started to play Pokemon in GenIV. Kanto is like the roots of pokemon, the home region of Proffessor Samuel Oak and where are you gonna go to fight the E4 without it?

Actually FR/LG was remade and reformatted from R/B/Y's Kanto (note: the presence of Cinnabar Island), which was simply translated from R/B/Gs, not redone. G/S/C's Kanto was based on R/B/Y's, but altered in design beyond a simple remake. Extra Routes, advancements in the timeline (and with it the lives of some characters) deem it a "revisted" Kanto, as opposed to a "remade" [in the sense of a "remake"]. This is the Kanto HG/SS will be reformatting and refining.

tl;dr- there's really nothing there*...

I like that they're putting Kanto in again. It's nice that they keep it close enough to the originals while still adding features.

Spoiler:
I bet that made you read it, if you didn't in the first place.

What kind of Pokefan has had enough of Kanto? It is a great region, a very critical part of remaking a game that required 8 badges from that region. I can never get enough of Kanto or Johto.

I agree all the way!

1. Johto
2. Kanto
3. Sinnoh
4. Hoenn

No point in complaining. Besides, do you know how many people have imported this game?(Including myself, XD. Play-Asia FTW)

Now if you really need to neg the Kanto Addition, you should play mods. Than we can all have a good time blaming a game for ruining our fun, and it won't be a real pokemon. >_>

I'm still trying to comprehend why people even put its inclusion into question in the first place.

Now that there's enough evidence to shut people up, I'm happy.

I'm not even going to call that one video "Confirmation", as it was pretty much a given Kanto was going to be in the game from the beginning.

Now we have people like you complaining about it's inclusion.

what the hell? you've gone completely off topic
he wasnt aruging that Kanto won't be included
he was simply saying that he thinks 4 Kanto's is too much, no need to flame him.
I'm okay with the Kanto's, personally, however, i don't want it included in gen V, then it'll get too much :| theres only so many times you can visit all the landmarks.

Captain Riolu August 6th, 2009 11:23 PM

Honestly, Kanto is pure awesome. It's actually what I look forward to in HG/SS the most. So its appearance every gen is welcomed for me.

Leader Soulja Boy August 6th, 2009 11:47 PM

Just the fact that this a G/S/C remake means it needs Kanto or it won't be G/S/C's story.

Samme! August 7th, 2009 5:31 AM

The only time I played in Kanto was in FireRed. I've been there, done that.
Now I want to see Kanto in its 4th generation glory.

**And you can never get enough of the original**

Scotty's Black Charizard August 7th, 2009 6:04 AM

Kanto has to be remade, i couldn't imaging a pokemon generation with out the famous kanto. There is just one little issue i hav with kanto being remade, what can't happen when its remade is that if they change the orginal layout of kanto, i don't mind johto being a little bit tweaked, kanto has to keep the original g/s/c layout, i dont want a big place dedticated to windfarms, because i keep seeing these windmills pop up in IV generation games. even in the new bark town screenshots.

I doubt you'll be able to go into cerulean cave this time. Certain houses were available to go into.

Hey screw you guys, I agree with TFIIB. Now don't get me wrong, Kanto is completely fine, I'm just tired of it from having played it for three (soon to be four) gens. I understand they couldn't have left Kanto out for these remakes, but I really hope they'll skip Kanto next generation.

thegeneticway August 7th, 2009 10:00 AM

I'm excited that Kanto is in it since FR/LG kinda was boring but I do agree., 4 games is a little too much

They should make a Hoenn remake next

Hoenn is the best region

They did make the best battle fronteir, the best pokenav, the better gym leaders, the better trainer card, etc.

Kyledove August 7th, 2009 10:05 AM

I agree with the TFIIB too, Kanto really has had enough.
Why is it even that great? I don't see whats so great about it, the cities are all very blocky and close to each other, heck there's like 4 of the main cities each separated by a tiny route between them. People just think its the best because it was the original and the first, not because of what it actually is.

Personally Kanto was the worst region for me, yeah it had some nice places but it does not make up for the really bad layout and boring routes. As with most things, the regions have improved with time and places like Hoenn and Sinnoh are a hundredfold much more interesting than Kanto.

Also I did grow up with Kanto and Pokemon Blue was first and favourite game so dont give me any of this nostalgia rubbish, a bad region is a bad region regardless of being the first one you played and grew up with. If you wanna live through denial glasses then go ahead. I really hope they fix kanto and make it much wilder and more fun to traverse.

Samme! August 7th, 2009 11:08 AM

Yeah, Kanto has been in a lot of games, but who cares. Having another region in the game gives you a larger opportunity of things to do, people to battle, and pokemon to catch. Would you rather play through Johto, beat the Elite Four, then have nothing else to do?! With the inclusion of Kanto, you get more trainers to level up your pokemon with and more pokemon to add to your collection. Plus, You get to the region in the 3D glory that it has never seen. And even if you don't like the inclusion of Kanto in the games, you don't have to go over there if you don't want to. As my last comment, stop complaining about an amazing supplement to the new games and try to enjoy the fact that Nintendo is actually remaking them.
;)

Blue Nocturne August 7th, 2009 11:40 AM

I agree with kyledove. Kanto was boring. Its routes were bland and far too uniform. They had no uniqueness like sinnoh and hoenns rainforests, deserts, Volcanoes, Lakes and ice fields. All kanto had was forests, grass and path. The routes were tiny, and had about as much imagination as an earthworm. That was understandable in Gen. 1 but the blandness remained in FRLG.

The caves in Kanto, and Johto as well (bar ice cave) were also boring with no distinctions. If you saved in one of them, didn't play for ages and loaded, you wouldn't be able to tell where the **** you were.

Oh and the cities! unimaginative, empty and just too boring. Compared to locations such as Fortree, Canalave, Pastoria, Jubilife, Slateport, Lilycove, Rustboro, Veilstone, Sunyshore, Snowpoint, Sootopolis and Ecruteak. They all have a unique feel to them, like most cities ITRW do. In kanto all the cities just seem to blend into eachother, which isn't helped by the fact that they are so close together.

Kanto needs to be in the game, because it would be taking well over half the game away if it wasn't, thanks to the puny size of Johto, and i dont mind kanto. As long as they instill some imagination into it like they appear to be doing with Johto, then im completely happy.

Samme! August 7th, 2009 11:51 AM

Maybe this time the cities in Kanto will have some distinct qualities to them! Even with Platinum, the cities became a little more pronounced and with more life-like additions to them. In Pastoria, the tiny addition of the Croagunk Poster where you can stick your head was even enough. Small I know, but it made that area more creative.
I have high hopes for Kanto this time.

Samme! August 7th, 2009 11:53 AM

Very good point in adding what would be better Lily!

gregory_turner420 August 7th, 2009 10:07 PM

i like kanto, it was fun and all specially for nostalgia purposes, but i do think its alittle old running around the same dang region, doing the same plot essentialy over and over.

although for the sake of the remakes, without kanto, the game would be pointless after the e4. kanto to hg/ss, is like the sevii islands in fr/lg

Ruphire August 7th, 2009 10:19 PM

Geez. Can we honestly get anymore Hoenn haters in this thread? lol

Anyways, Hoenn was my favorite region.

But of course Kanto is going to be in HG and SS. If they could fit in a Game Boy game, then they can surely fit in a DS game.

And hopefully it won't be watered down like in G/S/C.

linkinpark187 August 8th, 2009 12:15 AM

i concur, Ruphire. the fact that the Veridian Forest was just a bunch of bushes kind of...well, ticked me off. and then the fact that the Seafoam Islands didn't have a cave anymore wanted to make me cry. but, with new technology, they'll hopefully be able to make a complete Kanto, this time. we'll have to wait and see. and, i think i may have mentioned this before (not sure if it was in this thread or not), but i'd like to see a possible Hoenn or Orre Region, or the Orange Archipelago added, too (unless that's what the Sevii Islands were in FR/LG, but i doubt it).
