Should Ash recieve a Psudeo Legendary?

I don't want to explain what they are, so if you don't know just follow the link:http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Pseudo-legendary

These Pokemon have been treated as quite powerful in the anime, Dragonite in particular took no less than 4 of Ash's Pokemon to beat( it even laid the smackdown on his Charizard), and Cynthia's Garchomp has been shown to be godly as well. Ash catching one would be a huge deal that would require a lot of effort, would evolve VERY late in the season, and would be granted Charizard levels of power; much like in the games themselves. So the question is, would you like to see this in the Anime?

*Charizard* August 9th, 2009 7:49 PM

Yes and no. Firstly no because I think it defeats the purpose of Ash's goal in the anime which is clearly defined in the sinnoh region that you can raise any type of Pokemon no matter how weak and watch them grow and become stronger. You can see this with Ash's Pikachu and it has been able to defeat its evolutionary stage Raichu on 2 occasions and also Ash's staraptor which was classified weak to Paul's standards. After training with Ash Starly has been able to get stronger and evolve to its final form and defeat Paul. Whereas Ash's rival Paul believes in two different types of Pokemon strong and weak ones and you can see that when he catches three of the same Pokemon and releases two just because they don't meet his requirements.

However back on the topic and if the right circumstances came along and progressed with Ash's purpose in the Anime I wouldn't have a problem with it.

As for me I vote for yes.
I trully wish for Lucario.

Lucario isn't a Pseudo.

I'd like that Larvitar to return to him, Ash having a Tyranitar would be pretty cool.

JawKam August 10th, 2009 12:07 AM

Would be amazing if Ash owned a Dragonite. I raised both Dragonite and Tyranitar in my Crystal version :) Took ages though.

Inferno1 August 10th, 2009 12:36 AM

nope because ashs whole point behind his training is to make a pokemon the best it can be so even if he got one it would most likely stay in its base form

I consider him as pseudo.
He had his own movie and if he isn't legendary he should at least be pseudo

At most I think Ash should get anyone of them, but shouldn't evolve past their 2nd stage (ie: Dragonair, Pupitar, Gabite, Metang, and Shellgon)

.hack August 10th, 2009 7:58 AM

I thought he was gonna get one in Johto but that damn Larvitar had to leave, I think Larvitar should return for a championship just to help ash and he could evolve to tyranitar there, krabby did it, Larvitar can do it.

CyanideEspeon August 10th, 2009 8:38 AM

Yes, he needs something like that. Although it shouldn't evolve into the final form until much later.

e4darthteej August 10th, 2009 12:45 PM

I agree with people saying that Larvitar should return, I actually made this thread with him(her?) in mind.

sanny the hedgehog August 10th, 2009 12:47 PM

um no i dont think he should have any legendary
cause being as stupid as he is he'll probably screw up the balance of nature and then everyone dies!

He said PSUEDO-legendary. There was even a link to what they are (examples are like Dragonite and Metagross).

Anyway, I think it depends on which one. I mean the writers will never give him a dragon, psychic (odd), or dark type. Meaning Salamence, Dragonite, Garchomp, Metagross, and Tyranitar are all out. That's just about ever pseudo-legendary. I would love if Larvitar came back and joined the team. He doesn't even have to evolve all the way, but it would be nice if he joined.

Ponyta August 10th, 2009 6:20 PM

he'll most likely get a garchomp. that seems to be the overrated pokemon of the season

ShadowYashi August 10th, 2009 6:38 PM

*snorts* Ash? Get a Psudeo legendary?
Ha! He has Pikachu, with that over rated rule breaking rat, what the heck would he need a Psudeo for?
Pfft, if anything, let Brock have it, Ash doesn't need a Psudeo he's got Uberchu.

Guns August 10th, 2009 6:47 PM

I don't see why not. If you look back to the Kanto and Johto journeys they practically treat Charizard like one and a lot of the characters think it's Ash's best pokemon.

ARCEUS MAN August 10th, 2009 6:49 PM

i dont know so ?????????????????????????

Darkrai-Hero August 10th, 2009 7:18 PM

I could see Dragonite, Tyranitar and Salamence with Ash, but I dont he gets one. I'd just be happy if he gets an Infernape and Torterra and they become Charizard strong.

mew² August 10th, 2009 7:24 PM

Ash would be to over confident then and he'd lose more and Ash would send it to live with Oak with all the forgotten Pokemon ):

Also the other thing about Ash with a Pseudo-legendary is this: evolution. Thing of how agonizingly long it takes to raise one. We all have atleast one Psuedo legendary in our teams so I'm sure we all know how painful it is. Now, this being the show; would Ash's hypothetical Gabite go past that stage ever?

Guy August 11th, 2009 8:49 AM

Ash catching and raising at least one Psuedo Legedary to me wouldn't be much of a bad idea. I mean it would add bit of interest to the anime apart from what it has now and it would be nice to see how Ash ends up raising it to evolve at the end. However, the closest Pokémon I'd like Ash to catch to a Psuedo Legendary is probably a Growlithe and later on an Arcanine. I always pictures Ash owning one of these on his team, and to see it happen would be interesting as a Psuedo Legendary.

Although, the whole point with Ash is trying to raise the weaker to show how strong they can be at the end. So with this being said, Ash's purpose in the anime is to be different from other trainers and still be the best once achieved. Though, the idea isn't bad nevertheless and is interesting to have in mind.

I think that it would happen very close to or even during the Pokemon League tournament.

It was a hypothetical question, also that would mean it just end up rotting in Oak's lab anyway. If we was to get a pseudo-legend, it would be the wild card, meaning end of the season it's gone anyway.

LOL Thats true XD

I love you Bulbasuar D:

Green1124 August 11th, 2009 12:10 PM

-sighs-... no. With Ash's hacked Pikachu why the hell does he need a psudeo legend? Actually Ash clearly hacks all of his team so why not add a psudeo legend to his already Uber team

ShadowYashi August 11th, 2009 12:48 PM

^^ This. I agree with you totally.
Uberchu is beyond hacked, not to mention Charizard is up there too.
Both are extremely over-rated IMO

I miss his Bulbasuar. I wonder if we started calling it a pseudo legend if they would bring it back ):

Dr. Octogonapus August 11th, 2009 2:04 PM

No.
Ash is like.. The MOST annoying and his Pikachu is probably Arceus-level, but either way.. He doesn't deserve ONE Pokémon more or less even meeting a legendary.

Why am I even suprised by people's stupidity anymore =_=? I said PSEUDO-legendary, there's a big difference between that and a regular legendary. Also, your sentence doesen't make any sense, is english a second-language?

Niprop August 11th, 2009 6:15 PM

Ash would teach it friendship and compassion, softening it up, use it in his Elite-4 challenge and fail terribly with it, and shortly after that, he'd sentence it to rot in his storage along with his Taruos Army.
