Legendary-DoesntShowVery....much....at all

ok the legendary dog thats supposed to be released after the elite 4,
is this the 1st time you beat them or the 2nd time,
see ive beat them the 1st time and have been everywhere looking for wild pokemon and havent seen entei anywhere,
see i dont even get how the dogs work having never caught one in previous games ( i basically started at R/S) i played my mates game (in which he stole all my good pokemon)- i was his slave to catch pokemon little did i know,

anyway back on topic,
do you catch the dogs like the [email protected]?
where you go in a building and their position changes?
and can you only see them on grass?

any help on how to even come across them and when the dog gets released (afeter elite 4 2nd time etc) would be a big help,

thanx

Its the same as Latios and Latias. And just because you've looked everyone doesnt mean anything. The first time you see is almost always an accident when you least expect it. After the first time though its easy to find.

Im not sure if its after the first defeat or the second, Ive only defeated them once, my pokemon arent nearly strong enough for the second time.

Mr Cat Dog October 6th, 2004 7:07 AM

You have a chance to encounter them the first time after you defeat the Elite Four. They appear in random patches of grass in Kanto only. Not on the Sevii Islands, or in a cave or patch of water. When you change location between routes and/or cities, their location changes as well. This also happens when you enter a new building. The first time you see them will nearly always be completely random. After that, you can track them down with the PokeDex, so, yes - they are like Latias/os in a way.

If your Pokemon aren't strong enough for that, they will be if you can just take down 1 E4 member with it. Just bring lotsa items and stuff, and you'll be fine. ^^

As for Entei, it's even more elusive than [email protected] I'd just recommend going and "catching 'em all". You'll likely see it sometime during your journey, okay? If not, battle your friend's Entei, and then go look for it. If you're using the ROM, you can battle with VBALink. :)

ok, if a legendary dog turns up shiny, but it runs away, will it remain shiny the next time you see it, as it's still the same pokemon, or will it change back because you encounter it in a different battle?

No, it will be back to normal, the regular legy dog, UNLESS you are realllllllllyyyyy lucky to come apon two shinies in a row.

KaeL October 6th, 2004 1:08 PM

Lol. Running in to a shiny dog Twice is a chance which is about 1 and 100000000000000

Star Crossed Dreamer October 6th, 2004 1:09 PM

Thanks for the tips! Um, what are your chances for running into it?

!Dragonite! October 6th, 2004 1:17 PM

The chances of runny into a shiny legy dog is still 1/8500 but sence it is harder to find them, it makes it seam alot harder.

Actually, I think it would STAY shiny after they run away. The damage you do to them is constant each time you run into them so I don't see why their shinyness wouldn't be. I asked a similar question like this but involving [email protected] a while back and most people replied saying they would say shiny. And when Frosty says something, he's pretty much always right.

Philbro October 6th, 2004 3:03 PM

Well i shall agree there as its true maybe it is as it worked on gold for me

shark3019875 October 6th, 2004 4:28 PM

hey how about rying ot get the dog frist insted of worrying about shiney and also they don't better then the origanal i think the tightest pokemon shiny and it happens to be a dog is nintales bcause it is gray and being gray for a ninetales repersent how strong it is because the older the stronger right

I Caught my Sucine in the water before the seafoam islands. You see, i have mewtwo, so i decided to go for the birds. First i caught a Zapdos, Then Moltres. The moltres made my kanto dex to 70. So i was surfing to seafoam when i heard the high pitched wild pokemon music u hear when u run into a legendary. Most of u know what im talking about. Anyways, i knew it was gonna be a legendary cause the music, but i thought u couldnt catch them in water, so i didnt get to excited. Then when the shadow appeared i thought it was a tentacruel. Then i saw it was a sucine, and i chucked the master ball that i traded from my RuSa, and got my dog. The morral is, it took me 5 mins after the dogs were supposed to start to appear, so just train and catch more pokemon, and ull eventually run into it.

evilgeniusguy October 9th, 2004 6:13 PM

To get them, don't look for them.
Thats how i found entei, suicune, raikou, latias and latios. (look for mewtwo in cerulean cave.

Simon October 9th, 2004 6:23 PM

Yes..it seems whenever you want something, you can't get or find it. When you no longer need ot want it...you find or get it.

cranium October 9th, 2004 6:26 PM

i have mewtwo evilgeniusguy

shortndsxy October 12th, 2004 11:59 AM

KaeL October 12th, 2004 5:54 PM

I just caught moltres, which made 70. I bought some balls, healed up and set off. I ran into 3 tentaculs then i saw sucicine. :)

cranium October 12th, 2004 5:56 PM

ill keep you updated
i feel like ripping off my skin now

Pounce October 12th, 2004 8:33 PM

don't worry, I'm in the same boat =_= no entei appeared for me yet.

PazzKat October 12th, 2004 9:47 PM

-Walks along happily, then stops.- I need to fill my poke'dex. -Flies to route 1 to capture a Rattata- Okay..let's see here.... -Accidentally put on Super Repel in exchange for Full Restore. >_<- Let's get the super Repel off first... -Encounters.- You're not rattata... -drools, captures, walks around until she captures rattata.- That's how I found my Entei basically. All luck. If you want to encounter it and only it, put a level 39/40 pokemon for the first, any repel, and travel the world. If you encounter something...you found a very strong level or a doggy! ^_^
