Well, I had myself under the impression there would be an update tonight, but it'll have to wait 'til tomorrow.

Why thank you Wesley. I know the tiles aren't as awesome as Light Platinum's, but I think they are well suited for this hack. The colors don't stray too far off the beaten path, and the trees and grass can still fit in with traditional FR tiles.

General Progress
NPC scripts, NPC scripts, NPC scripts... Blah, I'm tired of these people and their insignificant lives! Actually, I find it quite interesting to create a new world filled with interesting people, who have lives of their own. I realized a few things about having all scripts cleared from a game that were slightly annoying: elevators and vending machines. Being lazy, I just copied them from the original FireRed and changed all of the pointers.
I've been doing a lot of work elsewhere in the hack as I strive to make everything fresh and new to the players. For instance, I'm changing all of the TMs. What am I changing them to? Attacks that I think are actually useful to the player. No more Bulk Up or Reflect. They also appear in the game in roughly the order they are numbered. TMs 1-6 will be the first available, and you'll probably be getting ahold of TM 50 near the end of the main storyline. Do you like? The first six will be purchasable on the fourth floor of the department store after you complete your first mission. Want a preview? No screenies, but TM 01 is Lick. :P

PokemonSkySD has continued to make great sprites of the Delwat line. Have a peak at the team thread if you want a gander at Torvolt.

I've been tweaking the vines on 5qwerty's Briobulb sprite, and now it needs a recolor to match Zefloret's... Which I haven't mentioned yet! I decided to try and do the outline in a more Nintendo-ish style to match the other sprites that have been made, as well as recoloring with colors from other Pokemon sprites. How did I do?

i dont mind fake-mon but they need to be legit looking. the yellow things needs minor smoothing, but idk for the other two... if you can actually pull off the whole new pokemon thing, then it would be awesome. ill check back later!

also: the names.

Fizriket sounds odd and hard to look at. how about Fritzket? minor change, i know, but it's just that the double "i" in there hurt my brain. and fritz sounds more fire-like...
The other two names are odd to me, and Amphijab sounds like Ampharos wannabe, but i suppose im just fakemon negative ;) i hope i hurt no one's feelings heheh...

I'm curious as to how they're not legit-looking? I think that the Delwat line fits in very well with the game, as well as Flarewig. I've been working on making Zefloret fit in better, and Fizriket looks just fine to me. At the start of every generation after the second, the Pokemon didn't look "legit" to me at first, but as time wore on I got used to them and accepted them.
As far as names go, I've grown kind of fond of them over time. I don't know that I could change them. Fritzket sounds like something that's... on the fritz. :P Fizriket combines "fizzle" with "cricket" to make a name I'm comfortable with. Amphijab consists of "amphibian" and "jab." I'll let you guess its type from that.
Don't worry, I highly doubt anyone could or would come into the thread and hurt my feelings. I know a lot of people are skeptical of fakemon, but trust me when I say these will be done right.

Well, seeing as how I don't know exactly how much I've got to do, I honestly can't give exact percentages. I could guesstimate, but I don't really like to. Just follow the updates. I'll post about how close we are to a release.

Thanks, but even if I had enough done for it to be playable, I wouldn't just be giving it out to people. It'll be released when it's ready.

It's currently in the process of being recolored. I also took the liberty of tweaking his vines a little as well. I'll finish up and post the recolor tonight along with an update--hopefully. Things have been coming up that prevent me from working on it.

Wow, over a week since anyone's posted...
Anyway, I'm still chipping away at this thing when I have time. I didn't get to do all of the things I wanted today, so there won't be a big update like I wanted. Hopefully tomorrow there will be new things to show, and some features I keep forgetting to mention.

The tiles and palletes are really nice Curt. Also, I really like your idea of no dependence on gyms. I have one question though. Will there be any of the original Pokemon in the game or just fakemon?

Oh yes, plenty. There will be around 200-250 Pokemon in the main part of the game, and only around 60 or so will be Fakemon.

Update Time!
General Progress
Level scripts, tile scripts, NPC scripts, Mart scripts, you name 'em, I've done 'em. Of course, it takes a lot of scripts to make a game, and I'm nowhere near releasing anything yet.
I made a new banner for the first post.

Features
So, I may or may not have forgotten to mention a few features last update. The most important of these is RUNNING INDOORS! That's right folks, thanks to HackMew's Knowledge, I have successfully made it possible to run everywhere, indoors or out. You'll also start out with the Running Shoes--well, actually there is one tiny part where you can only walk. Umm, what was the other now? More new indoor tiles, I guess, if you'll look up a few posts at that screenshot. You also start the game off with a battle, and then *dun dun dun* a takepokemon script, made possible by JPAN's hacked engine.
Fakemon
I finally got around to recoloring 5qwerty's Briobulb sprite, as well as tweaking the vines a little to my liking. While I was at it, I also recolored Fizriket to match the colors of Flarewig. Man, that last update was a long time ago... Tadroli was completed a week or two ago (time flies, I can't rightly remember) by PokemonSkySD. So now, the starter trio is complete. Unfortunately, only Briobulb has a backsprite.

This game is looking pretty good, i like the idea of only having 60 or so fakemon, it makes the game feel more realistic. As long as those 200-250 include the most common favorites, this game has potential. Just remember not to give the player too much power (the game still needs to be a challenge)

Thanks. I'm not going to make this game easy for the player, that's for sure. Call me sadistic, but I think sometimes you need a good challenge.

I will do!!!! Hehe. But aren't you going to have any gyms? Why don't have it as a pokemon school where you collect bagdes but the pokemons aren't in a high level or something like that;)
