Pokemon Sunday - 23rd August

Starring RSE legendaries, and the Bug Catching competition. You can hear some of the music as well (such as Route 35). The Safari Zone is also briefly shown.

So nothing new, except maybe music stuff and a bit more shown as well.

As for those focusing on Pokemon levels, Safari Zone again shows a level 16 Sandshrew, and the Bug Catching Comp. a level 15 Paras (with the trainer using a level 28 Quilava), but again, shouldn't really be used as an accurate gauge for how the levels will end up comparing with GSC.

Video also features ranting/drunk Japanese people. =P

Magmarashi August 22nd, 2009 4:23 PM

I expected more. Oh well I'll just have to wait a couple more weeks.

ShinyMeganium August 22nd, 2009 4:28 PM

It also featured a bit about the Safari zone.
They showed a Sandshrew there. Though they apparently have different kinds of places in the Safari, could be a reference to Larvitar (a cave) and maybe Houndour (many grass patches like the one near...the city you could catch it in GSC's Kanto).

Blah quite disappointing. We saw the legendaries thing a hundred times, and they barely showed anything new (like there is) about the obviously-in-game-bug-catching-contest.
I also want to hear some news about other starters. I mean, this game is meant to support completing the Pokedex. And we can't do that without Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, Treecko, Torchic, Mudkip and their evolutions.

Youji August 22nd, 2009 4:33 PM

Oh my gosh xD The German names of the games are very ugly =D
"Pokémon Goldene Edition HeartGold" & "Pokémon Silberne Edition SoulSilver"

Would be in English something like that: Pokemon Gold Version HearGold & Pokemon Silver Version SoulSilver :P

But meh Pokémon Sunday doesn't really show off much new things as the most is already known before they air^^ They should show a bit of Kanto next time =) But hey only 3 more weeks to go.

It probably means: "remakes for Pokemon Gold (edition HeartGold) and Pokemon Silver (edition SoulSilver).

Plus, forgot to say: am I the only one who's shocked every time I hear that voice coming out of that...tiny Japanese girl?

Nothing new as I expected. Like stated before, the show basically gives a film recap on what was given off from the most recent scans as well as those previous. So, I wasn't surprised to hear more about the RSE Legends, but the video on the other areas of Johto was pretty nice.

Also, even though the game is mostly focused around becoming the next Champion and completing the Dex, it doesn't necesarilly have to supply you with everything needed. It hasn't been confirmed that the game will give any of the Kanto and/or Hoenn starters, so I wouldn't look forward to it until it is said to be so. However, with confirmation of the Pal Park and the ability to trade with DPPt, that gives you more than enough to fill in the PokéDex as well as held events and Wi-Fi trades, such as the GTS and people you may meet in places like this forum etc.

Oh well, it was better than nothing.. Anybody else notice the very low levels of the Pokémon in the Safari Zone? lv.16 after the 5th Gym?!

Kyledove August 22nd, 2009 6:07 PM

It wasnt nothing, I love these small clips of things that are new.

For example, there were two kinds of rock mountains in the safari, that's pretty awesome.

Yes, the levels were quite low when noticed in battle seeing it came after the 5th Gym. However, like stated before I wouldn't use the wild Pokémon level placements as a way to guess at the gym levels itself. Pokémon levels have been known to be found lower than the gym leader at times. Not to mention, they do have a range in levels in a certain area so it can be higher for some Pokémon in that area in which we do not know. Hopefully, in this situation it would be the case, we'll see.

Nice...although all it does is make me want soul silver more.
Other than that I didnt see anything too too new.
PS I didnt understand a word they said..

Xtreme99 August 22nd, 2009 7:22 PM

Nope, I'm pretty sure that you can't get TV Tokyo in the USA. I know that you can order some Japanese channels (Fuji TV used to play when I lived in NJ), but I'm pretty sure TV Tokyo isn't one of them :/

Frozen King Prawns August 22nd, 2009 11:01 PM

Screw the pokemon chatter, how does that woman keep her hair like that? :O

Haza August 22nd, 2009 11:08 PM

Aww this week was a let down. What to expect when the release is less than a month away though.

Ryanniny August 22nd, 2009 11:50 PM

woah, the safari zone looks well cool
i like the torches, gives the place a nice island setting
shame about the levels though
don't seem to be any different from GSC (bug catch contest wise)
unless the level 15 paras happened to be one of the lowest levelled.
did anyone catch what was gonna be on next weeks show?
can't believe theres only gonna be 2 more pokemon sunday's before the game's actually released :|

Lool xD I just laughed =)
Thanks Jake.

Yeah this woman is amazing. Also anyone noticed yet that she always keeps on shaking her head up and down and up and down while she talks? Escpecially if she wants to "hard pronounce" a word.

"Confirmation" of the Pal Park? Did they confirm the Pal Park in that game?
Well then, that'd kill the theory I adopted from other people around for why those games are made. That's really cool actually. Can you give me a reference for that?

True, sorry. Just thought you forgot a word before so I wanted to make sure .-.
Ahh I get a lot of weird situations in those forums. I don't know what's wrong with me lately .-.

Eggie Poo Poo August 23rd, 2009 9:12 AM

The reason they aren't showing as much as they did before is because ... well game release is so close (September), and if they show us it all now there will be no further point in playing, and plus we're going to see it all anyway when we play the game. Plus we know everything that's in, what else is there to see?

Guitar Guru August 23rd, 2009 9:29 AM

Sounds exciting. I think I might save up from now on to buy it. It would be nice to play a game like Gold and Silver since I lost Silver over 2 years ago, and my gold for some reason wont save.

R a i n e+ August 23rd, 2009 9:59 AM

The Safari Zone looks bloody amazing! The Bug Catching Contests seem nice, hopefully the levels are higher than the ones we've seen so far.

By any chance, was that a remix of the K/G/R theme in RSE? Did the preview show anything HGSS-related?

Yeah, and anyway, weren't some of you complaining about them giving out sooooo many spoilers? Now you're disappointed that Pokemon Sunday didn't really show anything new? Make up your minds. We finally got to hear part of the Ruins of Alph music, we got to see more of the Safari zone area (like the torches by the way). The bug catching area and music is nice. They used to meet indoors after the 20 minute competition. Now, it appears we're meeting outside. I'm glad we didn't hear much talking during the gameplay. Finally got to hear some of the music.

The ones who are complaining about too many spoilers shouldn't watch Pokémon Sunday neither read this thread, don't you think? xD

solaris knight August 23rd, 2009 10:13 AM

Nothing new, but finally hearing some music is good.

Also, lv.15 Paras in the park? Looks like they might not adjust the levels of wild Pokémon after all. I don't count the Sandshrew's level because that might just be because its in the Safari Zone.

You can say the same for the Park...

But yeah, the chances they'd adjust the levels, at least in Johto, is quite low IMO. And honestly, if you don't stop for leveling, I played Crystal a while ago and I kept losing in the league. Mostly cause I just walked straight forward without training.

Boonzeet August 23rd, 2009 10:47 AM

I recognise the music in the Groudon/Kyogre/Rayquaza bits -- it's the Ruins of Alph music.

Hmmm, anyone?
