Theory about the remakes HG/SS
Hi guys!
I was thinking about why Nintendo makes a remake of HeartGold and SoulSilver and why they released FireRed and LeafGreen and I went to this theory : In Gold, Silver and Crystal, you can pick up Pokemons from the Red, Blue and Yellow Version. That means that Pokemons from the 1st Generation Games can be transfered to the 2nd Generation Games. But here comes the problem. When Ruby and Sapphire have been released, you had to start from the beginning because you couldn't transfer your Pokemons from Red, Blue, Yellow, Gold, Silver and Crystal to the 3rd Generation Games. Nintendo wanted somehow to give the gamers a chance to get Pokemons from Kanto. Instead of making a Adapter, which transferes Pokemons from GB/GBC to the GBA, Nintendo decided to make the remakes FireRed and LeafGreen because nobody or less gamers have still the GB/GBC. The new remakes means also more cash for Nintendo. And they are doing the same thing now with HeartGold and SoulSilver. So you can catch the Johto-Pokemons too. Nintendo will earn lots of money and they will make many Pokemon-Fans happy. I just hope that you can transfer pokemons from D/P/Pt to HG/SS and HG/SS to D/P/Pt. Shortly said : Nintendo made those so you can "transfer Pokemons from the 2nd Generation Games to the 4th Generation" in a different way and to revive the old school feeling. That's my theory. If you have any questions, negations, or if you want to discuss about this or if you just want to tell something...feel free to post it here ;) |
Wasn't this pretty much already established?

People worked this one out ages ago.
I think Nintendo didnt really mind too much about the trading, they obviously just remaked something that would sell. |
well, with Pal Park, and all the games, you could already legitamatly (sp?) get all the Pokemon. They just knew this would make them big big big bucks, and its kinda going to be tradition, so they made the remakes.
|
Who cares about this?
The remakes are real now, we will have them in our hands sooner or later. |
Yeah, I think the real reason why Nintendo does remakes is to keep milking the Pokemon franchise. =P The trading factor, to me, just seems to be one of those... "oh and you can do this too!" reasons.

I'm sure they make it for money and for the fans. A remake may bring old fans back.

That's...kinda...obvious. They make remakes for 2 reasons:
1. Allow you to complete the Pokedex without TOO much events. 2. Pump some money by the "old school" thing. That's not that hard to understand that it takes "theories". I mean, just think simply: they released a DS without a GBA slot (DSi), they want to avoid complaints that were supposed to come by now and did that. Same goes for FRLG when they disabled trading to the previous handheld console. It's not a "theory", it's the reasonable explanation. (Note, though, there might be a Pal Park in for those who have the old DS, just so people won't murder me for that say). |
Have to agree that many have come to that sort of conclusion - that, and money from sales is why they made the games. Since I don't see much new discussion coming forth... closing.
