Cave in Ecruteak City

I discovered this part photo when i was fooling around with the script at the Japanese Pokemon website (wont let me post the web address). Has anyone else noticed it? And do you have any theories about it? I think it the place where you get Kyogre/Groudon. I am sure that it is no where in the original G/S/C.

it's a fountain- i had a screenshot of it somewhere, but i can't find it- but yeah, if i can remember right, it was just a fountain

A spring, I'd guess. Just there as part of the revamp. If it did have a purpose that would be neat, but I think it's just aesthetic.

Compared to the buildings it would be extremely small so its just a rock or fountain.

From what I've been able to tell, it's far too small to be a cave and there's water gushing out, so it looks like a rock-fountain thing. Why it wasn't in the original GSC is because they couldn't fit a detailed graphic like it has to be in the games, so it's possible that they're adding that small fountain for looks because they couldn't do that before. I wouldn't be too surprised if the graphics team for HG/SS adds small details like that all over Johto and Kanto.

Yea, that makes sense, i can see them adding stuff like that all over Johto and Kanto, but i still have that feeling that it has some purpose.

As others have pointed out, it's likely to be a fountain, or some rock, rather than a cave. I'm pretty sure as well that gameplay videos have shown this to be a rock-fountain as well, so there you go - by far the likely answer as the location of that matches up with the picture (as do, for instance, the Apricorn trees there, etc).

Speculation thread next time, I advise... but since that's probably all the speculation I see happening here... thread closed.
