Star★Seeker September 6th, 2009 8:43 PM

Australian accents are sexy, and so are British accents.

Halcyon September 6th, 2009 8:47 PM

Definitely British.
I wish I had one, it shows the power of my English. :D

Wings Don't Cry September 6th, 2009 8:50 PM

I like New Zealand accents, since every other accent except American and British is hard to decipher for me.

Timbjerr September 6th, 2009 8:59 PM

Australian accents are pretty cool, I wish I had one. XD

Whenever I travel, girls tell me my accent is sexy (I have a slight Tex-Mex accent). o_0

Citrinin September 6th, 2009 9:04 PM

The upper-class British accent is win. :P

Her September 6th, 2009 9:41 PM

Ah, the French accent. Patriotic of me, yes, but it's beautiful. <3

BJ088 September 6th, 2009 9:51 PM

Australian accents in what way though? Do you mean the whole "gday mate how are ya" type of stuff. Because we don't all speak like that down here.

Mario The World Champion September 6th, 2009 10:31 PM

I'm a fan of British and German accents. Mainly due to me liking Monty Python and hearing a person with a German accent say a word with "W" in it and you hear it come out as a "V".

But that's just me. Personally, I'd like to have a British accent. That way I can become Jeremy Clarkson and complain about cars.

ReignOfComputer September 6th, 2009 10:36 PM

I like the British Accent.. It makes me sound.. Sophisticated xD

s0nido September 6th, 2009 11:00 PM

Australian accents FTW. I could do loads of other accents, but I know that I'm perfectly satisfied with my accent right here. Though I would love a Spanish accent. They sound so...sexy...especially on a Spaniard. <3

Charliezard September 6th, 2009 11:06 PM

Australian accents are too normal P: I'ma choose British accents, cuz they're cool :D

Taemin September 6th, 2009 11:13 PM

British. -dies-

I love British accents. xD

I have no idea why, I just think they sound so.. neat. I suppose that's the right word.

~*!*~Tatsujin Gosuto~*!*~ September 6th, 2009 11:14 PM

I like the european accent and my own accent which is New Yorker

What do you mean by "normal" ?

I don't quite understand what that means sorry lol

Guillermo September 6th, 2009 11:48 PM

Australian accents? Meh. Don't think much of them. I guess being around Australia for so long now I've gotten used to it. :(

As for my favourite accent? I'd have to go with the British accent. Oh, my god. It's freakin' hawt. <3

poopnoodle September 6th, 2009 11:48 PM

I've had a thing for Australian accents since Steve Irwin

If you are Australian, then you wouldn't really hear your own accent. People from the country they come from don't really hear their own accent, that's just how I see it. I could be wrong?

That's what I was getting at a few posts back. We don't all speak like Steve Irwin. He is what we call an "ocka". They speak slang Aussie, so to speak, and sound really "bogan".

Alexithymia~ September 7th, 2009 12:10 AM

.. I wonder what accent people think about when they talk about the 'british accent'.
Queens english? Anyway, .. british is just to vague. The northern accent is very different to the southern one.

Anyway, my favourite accent? Possibly spanish or italian? They sound nice.

ew smiley.

Also, I originally came from England before I came here. Wasn't born here.

Tudj September 7th, 2009 12:37 AM

Lol Australian accents FTW, I myself being from Australia have one, and when I went to America, other tourists wont stop complimenting me on it, and I didn't know I had one. But the way people stereotype our accent, I quite like it :).

SPEEDIE September 7th, 2009 12:52 AM

the funniest would have to be the british or japanese person speaking english (i'm not being racist its just my jap teacher is funny)
but my fav is the american one it sounds so cool

Graceful September 7th, 2009 2:36 AM

May I Just say, The British Accent I use isn't posh at all! It's....more like...Slang. But I love it anyways, The accent from the middle of England is VERY different to the southern. Then Australian....

Queen September 7th, 2009 3:22 AM

I love Australian and American accents.
I have a friend that came from American and his voice is really funny, or was it just him. xD

Virtual Chatot September 7th, 2009 4:39 AM

Korean people trying to speak English sounds like they're losing their breath ;_;

Azonic September 7th, 2009 5:00 AM

British accent. <3 I rarely hear it IRL, but it sounds so elegant and fanceh.

Mukkamoto September 7th, 2009 5:13 AM

British accent is win. It's just awesome, doesn't need to be posh or anything, even the normal slang sounds great.

diamondpearl876 September 7th, 2009 7:18 AM

I really like the Australian accent... and the British accent, though sometimes it's annoying.

BJ088 September 7th, 2009 7:20 AM

Depends which British accent. The accent on the people from Leeds and around there, that accent rocks!

Pyrax September 7th, 2009 7:27 AM

British because I am.
Although it's annoying sometimes.

Michii September 7th, 2009 8:55 AM

I appreciate all accents. It shows the different ways a group of people and a culture can develop. Here are all of these people speaking the same words but in so many different ways. I love the Northeast USA accent for the "aw" sound and such. The Boston accent is cool too. Southern accents are incredible because it's like a bunch of different accents all grouped together. The Canadian is so close to the American at first, but then you realize how different they really are. The South American spanish accent is so much different than the Carribbean which is completely different from the Spain one. Then there's the European languages (and the Asian) which incorporate their respective language dialect into their English speaking. I also love how similar British and Australian accents seem at first (by the general population), but when listening closely you can tell them apart in a blink of the eye.

So I don't really have a favorite. I'm just more fascinated in the way they sound in general. <3

xxxLatiasxxx September 7th, 2009 11:32 AM

My favorite accent would have to be the American accent.

Lana. September 7th, 2009 11:38 AM

British and Italian.

British because after watching Harry Potter a million times you have to love it. It just sounds so cool especially Dan Radcliffe's voice, and when your cousin picks up a flawless accent you are pretty much forced to either tolerate or go along with it.

As for Italian, I'm not too sure as to why. It just sounds really really cool to me - it sounds so rich and deep. Must be my Italian genes coming out.

Rokusasu September 7th, 2009 12:04 PM

The British accent most people are familiar with is the 'posh' one- not everyone here speaks with it, even if you're from the south where it's supposedly a lot more prominent. o:

I like most U.S./Canadian accents myself. ^_^

PsychoJigglypuff September 7th, 2009 2:48 PM

I like British, mostly because their English is different from what I'm used to hearing. They're vocabulary uses different kinds of words and slang. Stuff like that I find interesting. I like all accents though, since they each have their own unique sound.

Shiraishi September 7th, 2009 2:52 PM

Japanese and British. When I read katakana, I'm amazed how they warp english words to Japanese [email protected][email protected]

emoBill™ September 7th, 2009 2:56 PM

I like American accents :pink_giggle:

British accents are really cool, too. And Japanese, when they're really strong.

Synaesthesia September 7th, 2009 4:25 PM

Asians speaking english is just rofl in my opinion. :3

I like the episode of "My Life as a Teenage Robot" where they have the little Japanese creatures that Jenny brought home. And when the one green one is gigantic, and the Japanese tourists come. The one Japanese man is speaking and his accent is super-strong. It made me laugh :pink_giggle:

twocows September 7th, 2009 5:09 PM

Scottish and Irish are close seconds, but Australian takes the cake for me.

donavannj September 8th, 2009 1:48 AM

I like my accent the best (upper Midwest), since we supposedly can pronounce the largest share of words in the English language correctly due to our accent. Which is pretty awesome, and that's the they try to train most American newscasters to adapt.

Ultraviolence September 8th, 2009 2:33 AM

I love the Scottish Accent.

I resent that! ;;

I love all accents really; I'm a bit of a freak about them. My personal favourites are American, Australian, Irish and English - although, to clarify, not how I sound. The way each says words differently is just awesome. :>

Melody September 8th, 2009 11:19 AM

I find myself growing to love any accent I hear as long as it's not too thick and the person behind it isn't speaking broken english. (broken english tends to annoy me)

Kung Fu Quagsire! September 8th, 2009 1:06 PM

Oh, the German accent is my favourite by far. Closely followed by the Russian accent, the Scottish accent, the Austrailan accent and American accents.

The Fourteenth Doctor September 8th, 2009 1:54 PM

I have a British accent (Hull accent) which i think is great, i like the London accent as well, i also like the american accent (i can almost put on an american accent lol), i also think the australian and german accents are great

Win.

I can do a British accent if I hear it first. I can copy a lot of accents by hearing a couple sentences spoken in them. It's pretty easy once you practice.

Guy September 8th, 2009 4:37 PM

By far the British, Australian, and Japanese accents have always captured my attention. It is simply by the tone used and the way the figure of speech is put together that makes it so unique and justifying that I fell in love with the accent of these three regions.

However, the French is also a personal favorite and I've always wanted to visit these four countries [England, Australia, Japan, and France] in some point of my life.

Ageless Irony September 8th, 2009 4:46 PM

Lithuanians
Representin'!

Sydian September 8th, 2009 6:36 PM

Irish people...I hate my accent. It's southern and I sound like an idiot at school. "Wuttt? Wut deed yew sayyy?"

Royal Genesis is a weirdo!

Charizard★ September 8th, 2009 6:48 PM

i like hispanic accents, i really hate indian accents, people make fun of me because of it

Caelus September 8th, 2009 7:09 PM

My favorites are definitely the stereotypical British and Australian accent. Would be pretty cool to have one of the two.

The New Yorker accent is also pretty cool in my opinion.

Aether September 8th, 2009 7:28 PM

British and Russian. They both sound cool.

Bagel September 8th, 2009 7:40 PM

I like my half southern half regular accent, but i love British/english accents. there so cool!

Ivysaur September 8th, 2009 11:53 PM

British accents. They are the cleanest ones for me.

♣Gawain♣ September 9th, 2009 12:50 AM

British. Simply original and majestic. And Russian too, which is bold and courageous sounding.

シーツー September 9th, 2009 12:01 PM

The American accent is my favorite. I also like some British accents but sometimes I really find them annoying.
I just can't stand the way people speak English there where I live.... It's funny how they don't get what I'm saying though :D

Jolene September 9th, 2009 12:33 PM

I like my accent. It's kind of a mixture of British and American because I've lived in both countries. My friends in Britain think I sound American, and my friends in America think I sound British...

Eruption September 9th, 2009 12:35 PM

Its too vague for me.

English could mean anything, a geordie wouldnt sound anything like me and I live a town seriously near Newcastle.

I suppose it'd be impossible to have it THAT accurate though so Australian for me.

Sarah Paliner September 9th, 2009 2:01 PM

Texan accent for the win, baby.

Pokepal17 September 9th, 2009 4:48 PM

I like Irish accents. They're pretty cool *gets reminded of the leprachaun on The Simpsons*

*Looks at poll results so far* OMG people my accent. :D

Yingxue September 9th, 2009 6:09 PM

British accents, they win every time.

I have a Southern US (TX) accent. lol

Sublime September 9th, 2009 8:24 PM

The British accent, by far.

It's just so.. gah <33
/me melts.

I could sit for hours and listen to someone with a British accent drone on about absolutely NOTHING and I would pay attention to them the whole entire time. I love the posh-ness of it. It's so.. perfect, for lack of a better adjective. :3

Houndour2004 September 10th, 2009 7:11 AM

Hochdeutsch
Sonderjysk (Spoken in southern part of Denmark)

Skymin September 10th, 2009 2:30 PM

EXCUSE ME ALL AUSTRALIAN ACCENT LOVERS.

I'M HERE!

haha no, um, british always gives me the shivers. the GOOD shivers. :D

ArcanineOod September 18th, 2009 4:52 PM

*twitches* British? BRITISH? That could refer to any accent in Great Britain, of which there are many, my dear! I rather like soft Scottish and Irish accents, as well as the occasional RP (proper English, as some people call it, but not the upper class super posh accents that foreigners do when they're trying to imitate the average English person. Nearly NO ONE in England has an accent like that).
I also love some types of American accents, but again, there are many different types. I like Indiana Jones' accent. =3 Maybe a New York accent. I think...

xX

Alistair September 18th, 2009 7:23 PM

I really like Russian, Cockney (sp?), and Australian accents. I hate mine, it's so plain and boring (North East American. Bleck). Even so, each country has different dialects. For Russian, I like the dialect mainly spoken in Moscow and for Australia, the dialect mainly spoken in the Sydney area. I have no idea if they have proper names.

Donnie September 18th, 2009 8:51 PM

Scottish accents are the most amazing thing ever.

Haza September 19th, 2009 1:49 AM

I love all ethnic accents. Especially Afrincan, Asian, and Spanish. French is hot too. American/Country/Southern accents, European/Australian/Canadian all annoy me.

vanna. September 19th, 2009 10:28 AM

My absolute favorite accent is Finnish.
It sounds so hot, haha 8D
Inaddition to Finnish, I also love Canadian, African and Australian accents.

I Laugh at your Misfortune! September 19th, 2009 11:09 AM

Pah, British accent? There's no such thing. An english accent, fair enough. But compare a London accent to a Glasgow accent.

If you think they sound the same, you need your ears tested.

Anyway, I like the Brooklyn accent. :D
