VM stalking.
[ I hope this is not a controversial subject, if it is then the Staff may close this down ]
How many of you people over here stalk other people's VM conversation..? Do not mention whose VM you guys stalk. But if you do then why..? For me sometimes it is bad, or sometimes it is good, Good in one sense if two of your friends are discussing something or anything for that matter, you can find out something really important that they have had been hiding from you and so and whatnot thingies, But i don't alway's Stalk other people's VM convo, since it's in one sense pretty bad, or okey-dokey if those person(s) whose VM you are stalking is already your friend, but i guess opinions differ from person to person so go ahead with your points. |
VMs are public, aren't they?
If a person wants to keep information confidential, they shouldn't put it in a public place. |

I don't VM stalk, and I remove people who do. |
I think VM stalking is kinda creepy. o_O; Unless someone tells me "Oh, look at my convo with ____, they said something funny/weird!", I'll stick to reading my own VMs. XD

Anyway, if I go on someone's page and they're having an interesting conversation, or if they're talking about me, I might follow it. Most people keep personal stuff confined to PM's anyways, and if they don't I just ignore it. |
If you really want to keep something private, PM it.
I could read other conversations My friends are having with others, but frankly, It's thier chat, and you really can't join in, so.... yeah. I don't VM stalk. |
I do, and I mean, it's all about the battle, you gotta play smart, you gotta move faster, and each time that you win there's a chance to begin again, but you've gotta take it all if you wanna be a mastaaaaaa.

I don't have a VM stalker.. I am a VM stalker... :) |
I don't necessarily VM stalk, but when I'm posting on someone else's profile you tend to come across funny VM's or awkward ones. Then i tend to check it out. So it isn't necessarily stalking o__O;
|
I don't really like strangers who suddenly post VM's on my profile. They should introduce to the sender appropriately first before VMing. I would never do such a thing.
|
If I'm replying to one of my friends' VMs and I notice an intersting VM someone left on their page, my curiosity usually gets the best of me. It's not you find anything that was meant to be private in them. o_0
If it really creeps you out that much, go to you're privacy options and set your VMs so that only people on your friends list can see them. :P |
I'll admit sometimes I'll visit someone's profile and see a weird VM and think "what the heck kind of context is THAT in??" and go read. I usually don't though--I don't have the time nor interest to check most of mine, let alone those of others. XD;

I like to read flame wars
|
I only VM stalked once because my friend (they were part of that convo) wanted me to figure something out about the person they were talking to. But I've never VM stalked after/before that. |
i admit i do >.< i just am curious and it's interesting and i know people do it to me since i have 5,000 profile visit's..
|
No public VM conversations are safe, I shall stalk them all.
Ctep obviously has some sort of reason to hide his VMs, he must be plotting to overthrow Rukario. |
i stumbled in on one once, and one person wasnt really calling me a respectful name, but it wasnt that bad, i just felt abit of an underdog really.
|
Nah, I don't VM stalk. I don't really care what other people say in other people's profiles, whether it be about me or otherwise. I don't really care if anyone VM stalks me, either. I have nothing to hide, and most likely nothing interesting for them to read. >.<

Anyway, tampering with residential mailboxes or the mail inside is a felony. So it's still illegal. Visiting someone's user page and looking at VMs still isn't. |
VM's are like leaving notes for someone, PM's are like mail. One's Public, so if a person comes across it there aren't stopped from reading it. The other is private, and like said above, is against the law to tamper with (with mail) or as far as I know have little to no way of accessing it (PM's).
|
I usually go through the hilarious conversations that my friends have. As for people I don't know, unless I see an interesting VM, I most likely won't pay their conversations any mind.
|
I can't help reading peoples' VMs. I know it's a poor excuse, but it's true. My eyes just gravitate over to them and then I'll wonder what they were answering to, and...before you know it, I'm reading their VMs. It's a terrible habit but I do it. And yes, VMs are public so if you don't want people reading them then you shouldn't be posting them.
|
I do when I have nothing to do, but that rarely happens.
|
I only VM stalk when my curiosity kicks in.
Otherwise, I don't do it :/ |
When I'm bored, I tend to read other people's VMs. Some people tend to talk about interesting things, others simply tease each other and crack jokes for 70 pages or so. It's interesting to read other peoples' VMs, since you can learn more about that person, and hope to befriend them.
I know some people who read other peoples' VMs and then try to interfere in the conversation if they see something wrong or they want to answer a question. I don't mind if someone did that to me, but I don't do it myself, since I don't like people to know that I'm stalking then. :3 Yes, I agree with most people here who believe that it's okay to read other peoples' VMs, since they're public and all. If someone thinks that what they're talking about is private, then they shouldn't hold that conversation through VM. If they still want to do so, then they should make their VMs restricted to just their friends and contacts. |
