Ever Seen...

Something thats either dark or white flash past from the corner of your eye? I've experienced that a few times actually. Like I could be playing my PS2 or something and then from the corner of my eye something will flash past. O_o I've asked one of my friends about it, and she thinks that its either a dark or a light spirit. It all depends if you believe in that sort of thing I suppose. When its happened to me, I've turned to see if anything is there but it seems to vanish when you go to look at it. xD It can be a little creepy...but it only happens every now and again, it could just be a trick of the eye I suppose. So has anyone else ever seen something like that?

kingofjokers September 12th, 2009 7:10 PM

yeah like almost everyday most of the time its my sweater when i take a walk but then i can just be watching tv then a commercial comes up i turn my head and like a black spot at the end on my eye.

Ash~The Purifying Prince~ September 12th, 2009 7:13 PM

Yeah thats like what I've seen sometimes, but I've noticed it mostly only happens if I'm either watching TV, playing my games or just sitting in my room listneing to music or drawing. It just kinda vanishes, like nothing was even there when you instinctively go to look if someone is there. Its really strange O_o.

~*!*~Tatsujin Gosuto~*!*~ September 12th, 2009 9:24 PM

well something dark does that all the time and thats my stupid black cat, Venus

.Seth September 12th, 2009 9:31 PM

Oh most definitely. Sometimes I can be sitting there playing a game, or just reading a book, and I'll see a bright object out of the corner of my eye (maybe that's why I'm paranoid? *shrugs*).
I remember I had a series of flashes going on one time.
Like one time my whole vision would flash for a half-a-second and I'd be like "wtf? o.o"

Ash~The Purifying Prince~ September 13th, 2009 8:28 PM

Lol well cats kinda have a habit of doing things like that sometimes, I know my cat has done it before. Seriously they can scare the life out of you at times.

Whoa really? O_O that is creepy...I mean your whole eyes just getting a flash in front of them. Its only ever happened out of the corner of the eye with me, but each time its happened. Its always made me feel like I'm being watched or something? O_o

T3h Kaiser September 13th, 2009 8:50 PM

For those experiencing this while/after staring at a screen, it's probably just your eyes adjusting to being away from the moniters... that does do damage to your eyes, you know. >_>

BenRK September 13th, 2009 10:11 PM

I believe you are experiencing the same thing astronauts experience in space. I can't remember if it's gamarays or something else. Regardless, the atmosphere blocks most whatever it is, which is why, while in space, astronauts see it all the time and are quite used to it, while we only see it occasionally.

bit.trip void September 13th, 2009 10:40 PM

Actually, yes. Like, a minute ago. I'm sitting there typing this, and I see this... thing... FLYING outside.

Then i realized it was a bird.

Pokémon Ranger ✩ Moriarty September 14th, 2009 3:43 AM

I do that quite a bit, but usually it's either my sneaky dog or the reflection off my glasses. D:

Mukkamoto September 14th, 2009 3:53 AM

It always happens. Whether I'm watching TV or sitting on the computer. There will be some sort of light or some noise that freaks me out. Not paranoid, but it just upsets the mood :/ when you can't find out where it came from.

Code September 14th, 2009 4:08 AM

It' happened to me, I belive they're spirits desperatly trying to reach me, but they only have enough power to reach my sub-conciousness. I've tried to help them, by putting out food and water, but I always end up eating it. I think they posses me, and then eat it through me, because my tummy begins to rumble, and I get a sudden urge to eat it the food.
XD

txteclipse September 14th, 2009 4:49 AM

That happens to me a lot. But yeah, I think it's just a natural thing that our eyes do. What I can't stand is when I think I see a person out of the corner of my eye, and it turns out to be some random stuff that happens to look vaguely human-like. It's really creepy when I'm in my house and I know all the windows and doors are locked. I think I've even jumped and shouted a few times. XD

morrison September 14th, 2009 4:53 AM

the dead spot possibly. there where the nerves end in the eye you dont have any cells so if for a second you sight was focussed there...

Isn't it he blind spot? not dead. But yeah all humans have a Blind spot at the back of the eye, which cannot detect light. Hence in quick movements with the eyes leads you to miss some detail hence it looks vague and can cause confusion.

Um guys, all those who experience this have got some eye problem, i once read an article about this, that some kind of white ball flashes through your eye, that's the thing or something i don't remember so yeah it's nothing creepy i assure you.

White ball flashing through the eyes? i haven't heard of something like that.
Plus i doubt anyone here has problems with their eyes. Such things aren't caused by the eyes. You make it sound like this could happen and anytime randomly :/

HyPeRsHoCk September 14th, 2009 9:19 AM

This doesn't really happen anymore, but a while back, I saw flashes of human-shaped objects almost like running light speed usually outside. Also, I get these random flashes, idk if it's when I'm sleeping or not, but it's like these random flashes of a future circumstance. Like my friend tells me something in a certain room, while we're doing something. It's usually only a few seconds, but it's kind of cool lol.

Dunno sorry but this happened to me too, and i said that this can be a problem of the eye since that is what i read so, darn it i'll have to go through the newspapers again i guess.

BenRK September 14th, 2009 9:45 AM

What you're thinking of are little sparkles that you can see when defocusing your eyes, not random flashes of light.

s l u g September 14th, 2009 9:49 AM

Yeah something like that i guess.

Ash~The Purifying Prince~ September 14th, 2009 7:20 PM

Whoa I'm surprised so many have actually replied on this thread xD but hearing all your stories is very interesting. It could very well have something to do with the eye itself, but I've recently had my eyes tested and they're perfectly fine. O.O so it could be anything, figment of imagination, or just our eyes palying tricks or it could very well be a lingering spirit. It really all depends on what you believe in, but its interesting to read the other stories of such an experience that the rest of you have had. ^^

Guillermo September 15th, 2009 4:12 AM

Yes! This happened to me yesterday. I was playing RE5 on the 360 and something flashed right on the corner of my eye. It was scary. :[

Wings Don't Cry September 15th, 2009 12:19 PM

Yea I sometimes see that, but I always believed the thing where if something moves at a high speed sometimes senses will work better for a while(kinda like adrenaline) just to get a glimpse of it.

Pave Low September 15th, 2009 12:27 PM

Happens to me most of the time, I stare where it happens and...nothing!

Ezzo! September 15th, 2009 12:29 PM

Yee, that happens to me sometimes too, like I'm doing homework at my desk and like I see a light or a black thing move really fast move out of the corner of my eye, usually my right, lol, and I just ignore it.
No idea on what it is though.

BenRK September 15th, 2009 12:37 PM

Since I learned that it's particles or rays (I still can't remember what they're called for sure) that are passing through your eyes, I stopped caring about them. They never really freaked me out to begin with. Of course, they pass through other parts of your body far more often then they pass through your eyes. And, forget for a moment that we would all die with out the atmosphere, without it, we would see the flashing all the time. It's not some supernatural event, but rather, a natural part of our universe.

Rokusasu September 15th, 2009 12:45 PM

Yes, most often when my eyes are closed, funnily enough. There'll be this white flash, like lightning, but when I open my eyes there's nothing there. D:

Captain Hobo. September 15th, 2009 2:24 PM

Yeah i usual see somethings like that when i am laying in bed.

Hey thats a very interesting theory you have there, but it makes a lot of sense too! I'll be sure to keep that in mind. I never really thought of it that way. But thanks for sharing ^^

luf100 September 16th, 2009 6:58 AM

That used to happen to me a lot when I was little. Not so much now, either I'm used to it and don't notice now or it's stopped. It used to freak me out when I was little, but now I'm sure it's probably some natural thing like BenRK said.

IcyArceusRider September 16th, 2009 7:15 PM

Oh yeah, I have seen that! However, I think I've only seen one or two dark ones. Usually the ones I see are white or light-colored flashes. But yeah, I know exactly what you're talking about. For some reason I tend to see them mostly outside at night, or in my room when I'm in front of the computer...

Nick October 16th, 2009 3:58 PM

This happened to me, like, an hour ago. I just woke up from a nap I took (rather relaxing, might I add) and looked across the room to where my light was. The light wasn't on of course, not that that matters, and I saw this white thing move past the lamp. I was waiting for it to go to the other side, but nothing happened. I thought it was a bug of some sort and I'm not a big fan of those, so I was nervous to do anything. Then five minutes or so passed and I got up to see where it went after looking around the room for it again. Nothing was there. :(
