Really weird Pokemon

Yeah I thought I'd make this thread because of two seperate encounters. The first was because I was bored so I was Super Rodding underneath the Waterfall to the right of Mt. Coronet (I think Hearthrome entrance). About 8 times I battled Lvl 36 female Gyarados'. Then, suddenly, one Lvl 54 appears. I wasn't able to catch it though, but I was scared like crap. Then I was EV Training my Bagon at Lake Verity battling Starlys and Magikarp when I battled A LVL 4 STARAVIA. No joke, I actually caught it. Serebii.net has no record of Staravias being available for capture at Lake Verity and they're not on swarm or anything so...what the heck is going on?

EDIT: I battled another Lvl 4 Staravia...I'm scared T_T

ReiXMinako September 13th, 2009 10:50 AM

What the hell? Gyarados I understand, but a lv 4 Staravia? No way...

ClaireBell September 13th, 2009 10:53 AM

Did you misread it? It may be a glitch in the game...

Daydream September 13th, 2009 10:55 AM

In the earlier generations you could catch like level 5 Pidgeotto I think, but I thought that sort of idea was phased out. =s

Banjora Marxvile September 13th, 2009 10:58 AM

I think it is when you have a GBA pokemon game in the GBA slot of your DS... I'm not too sure. I think it is an insertion special, but it isn't too bad. Happened to me too.

TwilightBlade September 13th, 2009 11:05 AM

Rarely, you can find a level 4 Staravia and Bibarel on Lake Verity if you have a GBA game inserted..

I don't remember encountering weird Pokemon.. D:

Giratina55 September 13th, 2009 11:13 AM

i gotta try that! as soon as i get my ds working i will...crap...i dont have any gb pokemon games, *gives up*

if i did though, i could get staraptor, i like staraptor.

Explain this weird pokemon encounter:

sorry its backwards...thats how my webcam takes pics.

harig07 September 13th, 2009 12:48 PM

That might explain it...I have Emerald inserted. The strange thing is I battled two in a row. Pidgeotto was available in Viridian Forest on Pokemon Yellow as, you know, Ash caught one there.

And I have no idea about yours Maiz.

I was fishing to get Dratini when I found Dragonair...Level 19!
I caught it and traded it for a Salamence on the GTS.
I also recall getting a Lopunny that was caught in a MASTERBALL

That probably means the player hacked a bunch of master balls into his game and used them to catch everything he ever caught lol

BlueEew September 14th, 2009 4:16 PM

No glitch, it is possible to find them.

pikarich September 14th, 2009 11:30 PM

Awesome. I have to try that.

Wings Don't Cry September 15th, 2009 1:42 AM

That Serebii page explains why I couldn't find one in Platinum after looking for like 2 hours.

mondays suck September 16th, 2009 8:12 AM

there always have been underleveled pokemon, most common in earlier games was probably raticate or all these metapod/kakuna in viridian forest, most known should be lances dragonites in gsc (ok, theyre not wild, but theyre underleveled) the lv.4 bibarel/staravias are just extreme cases of that

ArcanineOod September 17th, 2009 9:30 AM

I've never found any wild Pokemon like that in- Wait. Yes, yes I have!
I saw a low leveled Staravia at one point, I think... I don't remember where, though.

xX

Giratar September 17th, 2009 10:54 AM

I recall in my Emerald, I was fishing for a shiny Gyrados in Sootopolis using a Super Rod. What I got was a Gyrados level 7. No joke.

P.S.If I can get a picture of it, I can put it up here, but right now, my phone's camera's messed up, and I don't own a camera of my own. Sorry.

Pave Low September 17th, 2009 11:15 AM

The wierdest to me...A lv.14 Pidgeotto!

Tudj September 17th, 2009 12:22 PM

Well at the opposite end, even though of a thread for this, you can catch level 1-100 Magikarps in a lake, so thats weirder. But the same thing happened to me, except in the route next to Jubilife near the cave at night I caught a level 4 Golbat.

Phantom Poodle September 17th, 2009 6:07 PM

This reminds me of RBY games. XD I'm always freaked out by level five Metapods, things that could not POSSIBLY exist within the game but yet do.

But Lvl. 4 Staravia? Sheesh, that's crazy.

Yes, it is. What medication was Nintendo on when they designed that stuff?!
As crazy as Lv.4 Staravias and Lv.4 Golbats (What the heck?! Golbat?!), I think that a Lv.7 Gyarados is even wilder, don't you? I was shocked when I encountered it. Thankfully, I had cloned some Master Balls at the Battle Frontier. :3

GoingPokemonCrazy September 19th, 2009 12:36 AM

I can get gyarados but Staravia!? OMG I am freaked out now...... ****Srieks****

Kanto_Johto September 19th, 2009 3:31 PM

I battled a weird Pokemon once....

Heatran! lolololololololololollolololololololol!!1!!1!1!11!111

In all seriousness though, level 4 Staravia? Sorry for my disbelief, but WTF?

Kotone September 19th, 2009 3:53 PM

now that's really weird,
but that's cool you got to see that.
