Pokemon following you - Annoying?

I don't know, but this idea is great, but then again I really haven't played the game that long since I was playing my friends copy. But some people are complaining about the Pokemon following you and I find it very cute. Anyways, you can't turn off the Pokemon following you. So the question is, does this really annoy you?

Personally, I love it. Its what makes the game unique, and is one of its main features/selling points. I cand imagine HG/SS without the pokemon following you :/

GoldvsRed September 14th, 2009 5:16 PM

Yeah, the overhead sprites also make sprite-comics easier.

Luck September 14th, 2009 5:19 PM

I thought we were going to talk about those "~*!*~" you keep putting in.
It's okay either way. Just a small feature that was put into the game to show the potential that Nintendo had and didn't use :/
It doesn't matter if it's in the game, or if it isn't.

Fenrir Reki September 14th, 2009 5:20 PM

It wont really bother me much. I wont be paying much attention to them anyways so I dont think it will be a problem... hopefully.

.Seth September 14th, 2009 5:21 PM

I find these "~*!*~" annoying, yes.
But seriously, I think it's a wonderful feature we've been waiting for since Yellow.
I can't wait for a Wailord. :F

Wish September 14th, 2009 7:20 PM

^ to that. Wailord would be something to see. d(''d)

I personally love my Yanmega following me everywhere. I love the effort that was used to input this kind of "extra" for us.

That's about about 3000 overworld sprites they could have left out.

They would probs just scale it down.
But I personally love the feature.

lx_theo September 14th, 2009 7:32 PM

I originally thought I would but... now it just seems natural. I don't like it, it just hasn't annoyed yet.

I think its a nice feature.
I just dont like it when the Pokemon has to run to catch up to me.
Like Sentret. I don't like it's Overworld.

I don't know, Lugia is pretty big when following you.

I didn't bother with sentret anyway...
but as to what you were saying, it's really stupid when you jump over an edge and it (the pokemon) suddenly speeds up then slows down. I mean, it's funny and cute, but it peeves me a bit.
Yeah.

Isao September 14th, 2009 8:59 PM

I've always dreamed that they'd add this feature so it doesn't annoy me at all. It's amazing.

Nudge September 14th, 2009 9:42 PM

I love this feature and love it applying to any pokemon of ur choosing :D

>Feelings< September 14th, 2009 11:17 PM

You know, it actually does annoy me a little sometimes.
I like it most of the times, but just sometimes I would like them to stop following me...
If they programmed this, why couldn't they make it so that we can choose when to let them out and when to not?

Pachel22 September 14th, 2009 11:35 PM

It doesn't annoy me it's finnaly something like pokemon yellow again.
Remember a lot of people liked that pikachu walking behind you.
Although with a box deposit it was gone.
I just like it that the pkmn follow you.

Enjoy.

Personally, I find if you keep switching up what Pokemon is behind you, it can get quite fun :>

Haza September 14th, 2009 11:44 PM

Its not annoying. It makes u feel as if ur not alone. People would complain about my favorite addition! Lol

The Fourteenth Doctor September 15th, 2009 11:39 AM

I've got a Weepinbell following me, which doesn't have any legs lol, it just looks like its floating close to the ground

Åzurε September 15th, 2009 11:43 AM

I like it. It would have been better if they had still sprites too, instead of left-right-left-right all the time, but it's not a big deal, and it's fun to tr and see as many overworlds as you can.

Alucus_Of_Borg September 15th, 2009 11:47 AM

lets be honest its an awesome feature though the fish pokemon look a little strange and should drown :D

Tudj September 15th, 2009 11:54 AM

No, I think it was one of the best things Pokemon ever did, except some of the pokemon that follow you are sometimes a little out of place.

Serene Grace September 15th, 2009 11:56 AM

It's a unique feature in a Pokemon game and one which I love. Pokemon following you give you a sense of advancment in the games and a relation to the anime. Personally, I don't find this annoying and I don't think I know a lot of people who do.

CrashmanX September 15th, 2009 12:04 PM

Personally I like it, but sometimes it does annoy me. In example, when Im trying to get an Item and my pokemon gets in the way, things like that. But I must say I do love having my Heracross follow me.

Taemin September 15th, 2009 12:05 PM

I actually loved that one of the Pokemon could follow you around. xD That was one of the main things I liked about Yellow, and ever since then I've wanted that feature to be added back.

It's also nice that you can basically pick which one you want to follow you, instead of it always being the starter.
