Translation? Or are you asking for the term for the syllabary that's used to write loan words? That's katakana. And sandwich would be sandoicchi.

I think you're looking for yare yare (やれやれ - exclamation of relief or disappointment). Jare jare is how じゃれじゃれ would be transliterated.

My favorite, or at least my standard answer, is スキンシップ / sukinshippu / "skinship" because it sounds like an English word and it isn't.

Bokutatchi - Masculine form of "We"
Rena - Word for "Lily"
Yuki - Word of "Snow" or "Courage"

michele September 27th, 2009 6:57 PM

Jordan September 27th, 2009 7:14 PM

Fighto! Hahaha, I'm not sure if that's an actual Japanese word, but it's used often in animes. Its ridiculous similarity to English (its definition is translated as fight) is what attracts me.

Crystal Clair September 27th, 2009 9:34 PM

Hajime - beginning
Soara - soarer
and generally anything long that I can say to freak out otakus who only know the few Japanese words like.
Ikaseraretakunakatta - I didn't want to be forced to go.
or
ikanakereba naranai - I must go or else I'll be in big doodoo
I also like the verb hanasu - to speak, because I like working with the su verbs the best.

It's spelled "Faito," and I'm pretty sure it's Engrish.

alisaie September 28th, 2009 6:25 AM

Desu~!

Dunnow if that's an actual Japanese word, but I love it when characters use it at the end of a sentence. |3 Isso cute~

Yggdra September 28th, 2009 6:58 AM

Sakura.

Because it was probably one of the first Japanese words I ever heard (Cardcaptor Sakura ftw :3), and I just like what it translates to <3

Also, I like aiiro because it means indigo/dark blue~

蜃気楼 September 28th, 2009 6:38 PM

I suppose my favourite Japanese word would be... hentai.

No, really, it's gyakuten, which means "comeback".

Yatta! "I did it!" (at least according to Hiro Nakamura)

Åzurε September 29th, 2009 8:30 AM

Sake!

I'd say sakura, if only because I've seen it so many places, and it was one of the first Japanese words I've learned. I also like cherry trees. ^^

Ageless Irony September 29th, 2009 10:58 AM

I hate weeaboos so freaking much.

Baaka.xD; It just sounds funny if you say it.
Most of us anime fans know what baaka means so in case if you don't, it means "idiot" or "dumbass." xD

Misheard Whisper October 1st, 2009 9:32 PM

Anime
Manga
Er . . . it'd honestly have to be mizu. It means 'water', it sounds nice, and it's the only kanji I can actually draw/write.
