Memories thread
Ah getting my togepi and being so excited just to see that it knows no attack moves, marching all the way up to tin tower to catch and end up killing him, going to mount silver to fight Red and losing EVERY SINGLE TIME!Wasting my masterball on a graveler in victory road, watching my eevee turn into umbreon, talking to that guy who gives you onix for bellsprout and being so excited to get him that early, running into Raikou on the way to olivine thinkin HOLY CRAP and than he runs away, getting ready to fight falkner with a team of geodude onix and cyndaquil just to find out all of his pokemon know mud slap, theres so many I came back and edited my post with more of them. Post here saying what you remember best about the old games. ..........Friggin Red.
|
You know what, with all the memory threads that are made, I'm going to sticky this one so that there's not a new one of these every month. It's going to apply to RBY and GSC, as well.
So, with that in mind... RBY; Being afraid of Pidgey's eyes, being afraid of Blastoise and Golbat's sprites, being afraid of unidentified ghosts, being afraid of Pokemon Tower, being afraid of MissingNo., being afr-- well, you get the idea. Being afraid. Though I was scared out of my pants a lot, I still had loads of fun playing these games. GSC; Being afraid of Ruins of Alph Cute Quilava, the first time my Eevee evolved into Umbreon after training it FOREVER, finally getting a Fire Stone, AND BEATING WHITNEY! :D |

Ahhh allow me to reminicse lol.
R/B/Y: Catching Pikachu in Viridian forest for the first time was awesome! I used Raichu against the E-4. Also I remember the thrill of hunting the birds, and finally confronting Mewtwo. i also remember how awesome Pidgets sprite was:p G/S/C: Training my beloved Cyndaquil into an uber powerful Typhlosian:p. Beating Whitney like it was nothing! Catching Lugia on the first try in a matter of minutes. Beating Red the first time with a mid 50's team! Typhlosian took care of Pikachu with an earthquake real nice:p Chasing endlessly after the dogs... With no luck:C |
GSC: Using my Master Ball on a Ditto 'cause I thought it was super rare. Teaching my Ursaring Zap Cannon 'cause I thought the idea of a giant bear that could shoot lightining was uber cool. Finally making it to Red after hours of playing, just to lose to him. I even had a level 90 Typhlosion. That's all for now.
|
I used to use Razor Leaf so much that it became the best attack I had. o.o
I used to scream and squeal whenever Silver would come out of the blue and fight me. When Silver made fun of my character for falling into a hole, I wrote down his quote on a piece of paper and memorized it, laughing for hours. For some reason, I could never beat Silver before going into Ilex Forest the first time around. I remember I freaked out when I saw Lance for the first time. I had a level 100 Maganium that I was highly attatched to. I wouldn't let anyone touch it. I remember I was really excited that I could go to Kanto and that the Elite Four wasn't the end of the game, because I had never played R/B/Y before G/S/C. I remember I loved Silver Cave. I would simply stop my character and listen to the Silver Cave music for as long as the battery let my GBC run. I could go on and on, but I could write a novel on my many fond memories of G/S/C... But I don't really have any on R/B/Y, even though I played it all the time. |
I forgot to mention that I talked to Silver about 50 million times so that he'd keep pushing me away. ;D Did that in SoulSilver, too. Oh, nostalgia...~
|
I keep using the clone cheat in my Gold Version just to have a million Typhlosions and Nuggets.
I wonder if I can use that cheat again in Heart Gold. |
Nope, cloning past generation II can't be done. I never tried cloning, though. I'm too overprotective of my games, so I don't really do a lot of cheats/glitches.
|
Every time a Rocket Grunt saw me and I didn't see it and it's theme song came up without warning it would always scare me
|
The first time I played Gold, when the police officer asked for my rival's name, I said his name was ??? XD
|
Cloning my Typhlosion to find I got an invisible copy.Good times.:D

LOL, this post is so FUNNY! XD I'll admit to being afraid of the unidentified ghosts. 'Gimme a break, I was like 9, maybe 10 years old? Anyway, RBY: -I remember playing through the game with a total disregard of type matchups. But when you think about it, it's not that hard to beat the game with strictly your starter. I beat the majority of the game with just Charmander/Charizard. -For a long time, I didn't realize that one of my favorite pokemon, Haunter, could evolve. I think I figured it out when that guy with Machoke (on the bike route) said something about pokemon evolving through trades, and then realizing that there was an empty dex number after Haunter. I didn't have another gameboy, so I borrowed my cousin's gameboy one day when I was at his house. I traded it and freaked out when it started evolving. Hence my love for Gengar! (and Alakazam. lol @ Machamp) GSC: -Freaking out when I saw the 3 legendary dog-- uh.....legendary...creatures in the burned tower -Freaking out when I caught Lugia. Ho-oh was....meh. -Freaking out when I caught Suicune -Freaking out when I found that little patch of grass in the Ruins of Alph that contains Smeargle<-------found it by myself! -Freaking out when I encountered Misdreavus -Freaking o-- You get the point. XD |
Sorry guys no RBY for me, when I played them I was a little bit less stupid.
GSC: Being contestant at the bug contest hundreds of times to get a fire stone and when I won i got a moon stone.... In my new save get one call from a schoolboy and get a firestone after playing 2 hours. My sister telling me that because I couldn't select my bike with select, team rocket had stolen it. Throwing my sisters masterball at an ekans. (and my sister trying to kill me) Trying to clone my pokemon at crystal and wondering what I was doing wrond. The music of the st.anna Getting up early because I could play longer. When my mom told me get away from that gameboy and play outside I sneaked my gameboy outside with me. crying at rolling credits. Finding out that there is another region. Dying because of schreech In a trip to france puking over my gameboy (sound never worked well after). Getting a Lugia of a guy I never seen after. Dying because of karen's gengar's curse. You guys are gonna make me cry:'). Rest will be added later. |
Quote:
Translation: "Please don't bring that with you. I can't get you to make eye-contact when you bring that thing. All I see of you these days is the top of your head." I would just sneak it with me and take it out when it was too late to turn the car around. XD She would hear the game noise and just sigh. After awhile, she gave up trying to stop me from bringing it. And I made sure to make conversation when we were eating b/c that was the real issue. "Uh-huh.....yup.....huh?.....oh.....What did I do today? I caught Zapdos. Oh you mean 'What did I do at school?' I dunno....hang on.....I'm trying to catch Chansey.....wait, what are you doing?!.....GIMME THAT!!! LEMME' SAVE, LEMME SAVE FIRST!!! AAAAAAAAAARRRRRRGGHHHH!!!!!" And that was dinner. XD |

I <3 this thread
Memories from Pokemon Red, my first game: --I hadn't watched the anime much, so games were all i had to go on. I thought geodude was some weird rubber ball thing with slicked-forward hair, and he was sort of like Fonzi giving the "AAAAYYYYY" gesture. --Thinking antidotes did the same thing as potions, but were just cheaper. --Squealing in delight upon seeing that Snorlax (nicknamed "FATTY") could learn Earthquake. --Hating the Safari Zone (bait --> "Wild XX is eating...you missed the pokemon!" --> "Well if it's eating then why isn't it standing still?!?!?") and getting so angry at the uselessness of bait that I just started throwing rocks at everything until it ran. Then Exeggcute refused to run. ("Oh, sure, NOW they stick around!!) --Wondering how Dugtrio can use slash w/o any hands or fingers. I decided "Well, there's three slash marks, maybe he uses his three heads!" But then that left Diglett unsolved. Oh well. --After catching Mewtwo and the legendary birds, going back to like Route 1 and obliterating a whole flock of Level 3 Pidgeys. IRL probably 5 of them would have died. "Zapdos used Thunder! It's super-effective! Enemy Pidgey fainted! Zapdos gained 24 experience points!" --Deciding the game narrator was always very excited, since every sentence ended in an exclamation point. "Enemy Caterpie used String Shot!" (calm down there, buddy) In Crystal: --Getting thrown for a massive loop when Meowth's bite (in Goldenrod Gym) was normal effectiveness against my prized Geodude. "WAT??" --Taking days to figure out how to "wake up" Sudowoodo, and then another one trying to figure out why Quilava's fire attacks weren't super effective against this mysterious wood-type pokemon. --Trying to figure out how to use Kanto's Pokegear Pokeflute station in battles. --And, of course, trying to catch those mangy dogs that ran around the world in half a second. "Forget Lugia, I'm using my Master Ball on one of THESE giant pains!" --Trying to figure out (w/ no research) what pokemon would become the strongest. I said "Well, in Red, Magikarp was the most useless thing ever but evolved into an awesome Gyarados. What's the weakest thing in THIS generation?" I thought it was good logic at the time. You know who I raised until L50 waiting for it to evolve? SUNKERN. It was a seed and everything! I expected to get some massive tree out of it at some point. Way later on I find out it evolves by SUN STONE. |
I remember when I first defeated the Elite 4 in Sliver. And then realised that every game had a champion.
|
ahaha just one brilliant memory from playing silver:
trying literally 20 times to beat the electric gym then my friend gave me a lvl 5 sandshrew and it beat the whole gym as they only had electric attacks ! :) |

RBY:
- Being so proud of myself that my Bulbasaur had evolved into an Ivysaur - and then getting owned by a maybe level 10 Zubat in Mt.Moon Thoughts: "But Vine Whip was sooo strong all the time, why is it suddenly so weak?" "I need a Zubat, Zubat is sooo strong, it defeated my Ivysaur" - Numerous losses against Misty's Starmie, again with Ivysaur - Getting completely destroyed by a Dugtrio in Diglett's cave, again with Ivysaur - Never starting with Bulbasaur again for a long time after Ivysaur had proven to fail at life (at least i thought so) - I heard that Toxic was the best poison move. So i taught my Level 100 Nidoqueen Toxic, and tested it on something like a level 2 Rattata "What? How can that be the best poison move, that did pretty much NOTHING" - "What? My Gameboy playing time for today is already over? But, that can't be" I was allowed to play 30 min/day back then... - Rare Candy-ing a Lv.2 Rattata up to level 100 - which fainted against a 30ish Weezing used by some random biker on Cycling Road - Almost beating a friend's >lv.200 Mewtwo with my 40-ish Sandslash on Stadium (he spammed low accuracy moves like blizzard, and i was extremely lucky that day) GSC: - "What? You're tellin' me there's no Missingno in this game? This means it's impossible to beat, how should i get my Pokemon to level 100 then?" - Soloing half of the game with a Hypnosis+Nightmare Noctowl - "Why do these things (I can't remember what i thought Raikou, Entei and Suicune to be back then) always run away, that makes it impossible to catch them w/o Master Ball, and you only get one Master Ball in the game" - Thinking that Sudowoodo is a legendary - Finding out that you can breed Sudowoodo - "What? Still no Lugia Egg? But this worked with Sudowoodo, so it has to work with Lugia as well" - "What? No Lorelei? Will? Who the ... is Will? Xatu? Wtf? No Dewgong?" - "Outrage does sooo much damage, it's impossible to beat that Dragonite" |
Oh yeah. I used to wonder why I "whited out". I was like, "But this is Yellow version, so wouldn't I yellow out instead?" ...I still think it should be that way.

When I, a few years later started a new save, I didn't remember... After a few days, I went on the internet to find it (we didn't have adsl, so it was a big deal, it was very expensive) I found it, and it said I needed to get the squirt bottle... However, the gymleader had been crying so I forgot to get the badge, which kept me stuck for weeks. Also I used to wonder why my ember was not-very effective on a tree... It took me a while to find out it was not a grass pokemon though. |
Fave moment in GSC: Catchinga L70 Ho-Oh with A POKEBALL!!!!
Least Favorite: Accidentally RELEASING the same Ho-Oh by attempting the cloning glitch *facepalm due to epic fail* |
Favorite: Being able to get all the pokemon you need to trade to evolve. My summer camp was basically gameboy camp.
Worst: Having to clone a pokemon every time i wanted another rare candy. |
RBY:
- I could not find Surf in the Safari Zone, so I was stuck in Fuchsia and pumped my team to level 70 until my neighbor helped me find Surf - Used Missingno in the Elite Four... Strange things happened - Looked for Mew under the truck - Tried to evolve Dratini into Yoshi - Always looked for a Pikachu in the southwestern most patch of grass in Viridian Forest - Thought Mimic and Hyper Beam were the coolest moves ever and anything that could know them knew them - Never battled any of Sabrina's trainers - Never used Flash in the Rock Tunnel cave from Cerulean to Lavender - Named a Jigglypuff Britney (Spears) - Played my GameGIRL in the dark... ekeke - Whited out by a Weedle (I got poisoned) GSC: - Was afraid of the Ruins of Alph secret radio station! - Used a rare candy at level 99 on my starter, Typhlosion, the only Pokemon I raised up to 99 only to blow it :/ - Encountered a shiny Grimer, whittled its health to yellow, prepared to catch it ONLY TO HAVE IT FLEE... WHAT POKEMON FLEES BESIDES SAFARI POKEMONFFFFF - Got lost in the Whirl Islands for days - Owned by Whitney and her Miltank's Rollout many, many, many times - Freaked out when I found Smeargle too, lol - Wrote down every answer to Buena's radio show for 1 whole year (I still have this notebook, lol) - Used Rock Smash in attempt to find any Pokemon but never did - Visited the Miltank at the farm everyday for quite a while - Tried to get the GS Ball and did not understand that I lacked having the mobile adapter, or a Japanese game Both: - Retarded nicknames for every Pokemon! Go Beachball, the Blastoise! Nostalgia is fun. |
There's To many Memories to list, But i will list a few.
Back then, Your friends would do anything for you, So my Mom was in the Hospital because of her bad back, Now i was only 5 At the time, So i wasn't a master of PokeMon or anything, but I remember how back then, you didn't care how balanced your team was, Just as long as it had 2 Good Poke's and all the rest Level 4 Pokemon. But, that's not what happened for me, oh no. Instead, i had 4 Good Pokemon. Yeah, and By far one of them Was my Togetic, I am almost 100% sure it was between levels 68-87, And it was mine, so godly. So guess what, My mom was in the Hospital for 2 Months, therefore, I had my Friends Pokemon Gold for 2 Months, And i played it NON Stop! I would play it in the chair next to my Moms bed and talk while leveling up my Typhlosion, Man, those where the days.. But now, its not like that, You just can't have stuff like that anymore.. I miss the ol' days. |
The Geodude/Fonzi thing ttly made me lol. XD
|
Silver was my very first pokemon game. I was only five or six when I bought it and I couldn't read crap, so I had no idea what I was doing.
Some of the stuff I did was really stupid. - I named my starter Totodile "Squt". It was supposed to be "Squirt" but five year olds are not the best spellers in the world. - I didn't understand levels at all. I lost many important fights trying to battle with freshly caught level 10-20s. - I used my master ball as soon as I got it on the first wild pokemon I saw because I didn't get what was so special about it. If I remember correctly, I put the pokemon I caught in a PC box and forgot about it. - That secret radio station scared the living crap out of me o.o - I named my rival and a few of my pokemon things like "GJHISIJFKDVMIO" A few years later I started the game over because I didn't like my starter pokemon. I could read considerably better, but I still didn't understand some of the stuff. I named my rival "Rival" because right above the entry field it says "Rival's name" and I thought that it was supposed to be his name... |
Hey, lolz I remember wasting my masterball in Gold on an Ursurang, Cuz I had never seen it before ad thought OMG A RARE POKEMON. It pissed me off once I knew what it really was lol
|
Greatest memory would have to be freaking out when I realized that Ho-oh was that pokemon in the first episode. Nobody new what it was until GSC came out. Let the good times roll...
|
ah fond memories i gotta say i got pissed losing to gary so many times it was happening so much i left the game for a while i threw darts at a pic of gary and guess what the exact time i played Red i beat him
|
Silver Version: I didn't know how to save.. Ah, that was hilarious. Naming Silver "???", using the Masterball on a Skarmory, because I thought it was shiny (the wings weren't red).
EDIT: And I ended up naming my Pidgey "-tvw" because I just picked random letters and characters without looking. It turned out to be a part of my awesome team. Blue Version: Picking Squirtle because I thought I had to. Evolving Eevee into Vaporeon, thinking I could then evolve that into Flareon, then Jolteon (XD). Evolving my Pikachu at level 3, only to figure out that its best move would be Thundershock. XP |
When I first caught a Dratini and evolved it fully into a Dragonite and I beat the league with it! lol xD
|
R/B: Encountering (and catching) MissingNo. I used it so long that the graphics in the game went back to normal (except my Hall of Fame). MissingNo. was my main Pokemon for a while. Heck, I even had a whole team of them and named them after the so-called PokeGods (Houou, Yoshi, Rainer, Charcolt, and so on). Their Defense sucked, though. Couldn't even beat the Fighting Dojo with them. But those were good days. I might give it a go on my newest save file.
G: Using the Mew Trick to get that hideous-looking Mew. lol Y: Finally getting a Surfing Pikachu and playing the Pikachu's Beach mini game. That was pretty cool. However, I eventually gave it to my cousin. G/S: Evolving my Eevee into Umbreon. It took ages, but I love that little thing. Also catching my first non-default shiny, Golbat. ;3 C: Catching a shiny Koffing. I hadn't even been playing it for 24 hours. o3o |
I remember that even though I loved reading, my GameBoy was probably my most prized possesion. It was the purple one, and I even had glued some stickers on it.
The day I lost it (I still think it was stolen, but alas) was probably one of the worst. And to top it off, my Red cartridge went with it too. Anyways, my favorite moments were: 1) when that guy who was blocking the Cerulean Cave's entry stepped aside. I just loved it. I usually saved so I could replay the scene: "YEAH, WHO'S THE INCAPABLE IDIOT NOW, UH?" 2) when I finally caught a Chansey on RB. Damn that was hard. Good times. :') |
How my Adventure Began
How my Adventure Began...by WaterIse
It's a VERY lengthy story, but I'll make it short as can be: It all began in 1998, when Pokémon Red & Blue were released. Well, I was only 5 years old, so I slept in my parent's room in a Blue's Clues tent. I had a turquoise-colored GameBoy Color and I was currently playing Pokémon Red at night time. Well, as I began my Pokémon adventure, I chose Charmander as my starter. I rose him into a level 100 Legit Charizard. Then the following night something BAD happened.....I remember this clearly to: I pressed the Start button, I saw the "SAVE" option, but I didn't know what it meant when I was 5. So....I just turned my GameBoy Color off and when I woke up the following morning, I only went to find out that my Charizard was no longer there. Ever since that drastic day, I vowed to always have a Charizard on my team and to always make it my #1 and favorite Pokémon of them all, no matter what. 11 years later and I'm still playing the old Red, Blue, Yellow, Gold, Crystal, Silver, Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, Fire Red, and Leaf Green versions with my Charizard. |
Ilex Forrest
Spending who knows how long trying to get past the cut tree in Ilex Forrest.
Then finding myself stuck again trying figure out how to get past that Sudowoodo! |
My memories of Red
I got this game exactly 10 years ago. The first thing I remember is the sprite of my Squirtle. I remember thinking that it was the cutest thing ever and that I didn't want to let it evolve. Eventually I did, and eventually it became a Blastoise. I remember that the back sprite of my Blastoise looked awful, which is the case of many pokemon I guess. It added to the lovableness. I remember my Blastoise's moveset. Bite, Bubblebeam, Body Slam and Surf. Those moves saw it through about 60 levels and ultimately to level 100. I've never trained a pokemon to level 100 since that Blastoise. The only other pokemon I remember of my Red team was a Starmie. I remember thinking that it was just the prettiest thing that I had ever seen. It was like a piece of jewellery from outer space. <3 Also I had an obsession with Jigglypuff and spent hours in that route between Pewter and Mt. Moon catching them, but never using them. I had a similar fixation with Pikachus in Viridian Forest. Also with Tauros in Safari Zone. |D When it comes to the story I remember feeling terribly sad when I climbed out of the S.S. Anne and it sailed away. I remember the tune very clearly. I remember never going into Dark Cave. It was too scary. I remember accidentally wasting the Eevee I got in Celadon with a water stone. Not that I don't like Vaporeon, just at the time I would have loved a Jolteon and hated myself for ages for making the mistake. :/ I remember being so frustrated when I receiving the Lapras. I wanted to use it but I already had two water types in my team. x_x Gah. I remember the first time I saw Chansey in the Safari Zone. It was amazing. There's still some excitement when I see one today. I'll probably edit this. And post memories of Crystal at a later stage. |
RBY; Getting stuck in Viridian Forest, giving up. Worshipping my pikachu. Thinking I beat the game after the first gym leader. Being angry about not being able to see my game in the car at night.{we didn't have one of those hangover light things. D: } Ohyeah, and deleting my brother's file.
GSC; Too many to name. I was a bit older while playing these. {I could actually read/understand the concept of the game, I mean. lol. } Beating the kimono sisters. Getting lost all of the time. Naming my character God instead of Gold by accident. Catching sneasel. Playing the game whenever I was sick during the winter. Avoiding battles if I could. Always choosing cyndaquil as my starter. |
Before emulators were any decent...playing through Gold, in Japanese, when I was 10. It took me like six months to get through it. I was so proud of myself, I beat the entire game including Red...
...then I lent it to my friend who deleted my save. |

Me: Um, could you turn on the light? Parents in unison: No. Me: Why? Parents in unison: No. Me: Why? Parents in unison: No. Times infinity. Well, until we arrived, anyway. ;) Sometimes I would try to use the headlights from other cars and streetlights to see, lmao A few more that came to mind reading posts: -Believing that Weedle had a higher encounter rate in the square-shaped patch near the entrance to Viridian Forest. Sometimes I still search there in FR/LG, just for kicks. :P -Total lack of type-matchup knowledge. ffffffffff -Catching Moltres with a pokeball via crazy luck. -Being lost for hours upon hours in Tin Tower. I still hate that place..... -The above, except insert Whirl Islands. -Trading my Yellow version pikachu away to another version so I could evolve it, followed by confusion as to why it didn't follow me around as a Raichu. -Missingno glitch. ;) -Trying to comprehend that ghosts were pokemon, too, and then wondering if my pokemon would die. o_O -Wasting a masterball on a trainer's pokemon. -Being ttly creeped out by the Ruins of Alph, followed by dissapointment that there was nothing super awesome in there. But I do enjoy the puzzles, though. -Realizing how huge Dark Cave was, multiple exits and such. -Finding rare pokemon like Teddiursa, Dunsparce, and Skarmory by myself. <3 I'll post more later, I'm sure. |
My first time playing pokemon red, I choose charmander as my starter. I used him exclusively through mt. moon. Then misty stumped me, I could not beat her. My Chameleon was like lv 30. One of my friends traded me a pikachu, and I finally was able to beat her.
|
When i battle red in mt.Silver,i was surprised,he sent out a Pikachu,hahaha.
Too when i traveled Kanto,and when i get my espeon(and at last,an umbreon) |
R/B/Y
-the "Mew glitch" in Vermillion City by surfing by the SS Anne. I remember trading over a Victreebel and Blastoise from Red to Blue to get there. -the Mew glitch in Blue (Lavender town; it actually worked!) -Missingno. and the level 128 Charmeleons... Bahaha. Infinite Rare Candies. (too bad I didn't know about EVs...) -Calling the Elite 4 the "Eliot 4" because I was like 7 years old when Red was out. -nicknaming my first ever starter, Squirtle, Squirt. It's been that way ever since. G/S/C -choosing Totodile as my first starter -getting Lugia for the first time -riding the Magnet Train -hating Team Rocket, specifically the part in Mahogany Town and Goldenrod City -TOGEPI -KINGDRA! <3 |
Red (In japanese): (7~10 at that time)
Named my hero in japanese words (it'll sound like AH AH AH AH AH AH AH AH) and naming my rival the same thing :P since I don't understand Japanese Green (Japanese again): Stuck in Vermillion City and trained my beloved Blastoise to Lv 56... Blue (English): Found the bike shop and went in. Guess what? I talked to the guy who said one bike costs like 100,000,000,000,000 AND I stupidly went selling my things up, battling trainers and still couldn't get the right amount :tired: Yellow (Chinese 0.o): Unbelievably, Pikachu's thundershock can destroy brocks geodude and onix 0.o It's really wierd but it's true... Gold: Realizing that I bought a fake one :knockedou Stuck in Goldenrod for weeks - months because of the Sudowoodo.:knockedou Crystal: Caught a Suicune with a masterball...:cer_pissed: |
I would say just playing the game for the first time was the coolest for me, because I'd seen the tv show and all that, and then I bought a gameboy pocket from a friend and got pokemon blue, and it was just awesome. I would try to do everything ash does, like get a weedle and evolve it and stuff. I love that game.
|
just bthe whole 6 games makes me wish those days were still here where still here those games were good
|
My memories from Crystal
Doing radio quizzes to get rare candies every day.
Giving mom money that she spent on crap like potions. Didn't know how to evolve a Weepinbel into Victreebel. Hunting Entei that kept using Roar on me. Hard training after beating Red for nothing. |
yea silver was the best. i had strong pokemon and was really good. but one thing i seem to remember is somehow seeing a snorunt in my silver. was that just me or has anyone else seen hoenn pokemon in GSC?
|
RBY:
- Getting Red and Blue for Christmas in 2000, and favouring Blue way more playing it through Stadium because I didn't have a GameBoy. - Finding Pikachu in Viridian Forest for the first time with its adorable fat sprite. - Starting with Bulbasaur on my first Blue file, and soon after transferring my prize Charmander from Stadium (through beating Gym Leader Castle) which disobeyed me. I thought that this was probably normal of the Charmander line due to the behaviour of Ash's Charizard lol! Both Pokemon are on my current Blue file, my first ever Pokemon now being a Venusaur at Lv55, and my overused Charizard being one of only two of my Lv100s ever. Venusaur stayed as an Ivysaur for the longest time due to Charizard sweeping me through my first Blue file. - Accidentally catching a Krabby in Seafoam Islands with a Master Ball. - Missingno! - Thinking that one of the NPC's overworld sprites was a person with insect legs lol. - Calling my Blastoise on my second Blue file (my current one) "Shellshock" after the Shellshocker from Pokemon the First Movie (accursed ten character limit!), and inspired by my childhood friend who did the exact same thing. - All the happy times taking my Stadium, Red and Blue games over to the aforementioned friend's house, and discovering new things and fun ways to play the games. - Believing in many of the fake cheats/glitches posted in magazines and on the internet such as Bill's Garden, the Pokegods and the ability to get Togepi. G/S/C: - Finding my first Shiny - a Pidgey south of Ecruteak, and thinking that it and the Red Gyarados were the only shinies in the game... until I found a shiny Geodude in Rock Tunnel some months after. Both died along with my corrupted first Silver file. - Starting my first Silver file with Totodile. - My surprise at seeing Croconaw for the first time in Silver as I didn't know half of the Johto Pokemon. In hindsight, its Gold and Silver sprites were horrendous. - Abusing the hell out of my Silver using my Xploder and Xploder Lite cheat cartridges to catch unobtainable Pokemon and shinies. A route I feel ashamed about going down. :( - Taking my games into school either for games days (i.e. last days of term like Christmas and Summer where you could take in games and toys) or at home time to show off and trade with my friends. |

-having a crush on Silver and being happy everytime he battled me -tried to do the missingno glitch in the kanto region -being extremely excited when Suicune shook 3 times in the pokeball so I thought I had it but it broke free =[ -walking around in ilex forest for hours hoping that celebi would appear -realizing that goldenrod gym was clefairy shaped -catching a scyther in the bug-catching contest, knowing I'd win - only to find a caterpie winning instead -being freaked out by the creepy herb lady in underground path -figuring out a way to catch the legendary dogs in less than an hour -going to kanto and finding out there were no legendary birds - made me sad -figuring out you could cut grass so I did on route 11 and it froze my game and made a weird glitchy noise which freaked me out -smashing my gameboy in frustration when I tried a billion times to catch ho-oh and the batteries flew out and I lost all progress and.. -was curious as to WHY TEAM ROCKET GRUNTS FEMALE SPRITE WAS CASSIDY, BUT THE MALE SPRITE WASN'T BUTCH! -catching my Lugia with ONE great ball, dealing NO damage to it - major wtf moment rby- -freaked out when I got missingno -scared as hell at rocket hideout's music and the spinny platform things -while doing the missingno glitch, lol'd at the old man on the roof of cinnabar gym -trying to teach my pikachu surf -was confused as to why the ship didn't leave when I was on it, and left after I got off -started a new game, but transferred a bunch of lvl 50s from my pokemon crystal so I'd have super powerful pokemon from the very start - disappointed in finding out they wouldn't obey me, so it actually took me longer to get through the game than it would with normal starter pokemon |
GSC
- Not knowing how to save - Picking Cyndaquil everytime because I couldn't figure out how to get the other pokemon - I thought the pink flowers were coins - Mispronouncing everything because I didn't learn how to read until a year after of getting the game. RBY - I didn't know how to switch around pokemon - Lost my bearings in Rock Tunnel - Was ko'ed by Dugtrios almost everytime I entered Diglett cave. .. you know all the good memories<3 |
R/B/Y
- Nicknamed my Squirtle "Tit" - Getting through Rock Tunnel without flash - Thinking there was secret patch of grass east of route 1 with all sorts of rare and powerful Pokemon, only later to find out it was just empty space - Constantly tried to find the elusive "Pikablu" and other "PokeGods" - Missingno and M' - Discovering the Mew glitch - Caught Mewtwo at full health with just a Pokeball - Battling my brother and losing every time because he used Rare Candies G/S/C - Naming my rival "???" - Getting tricked by friend that Vileplume evolved into Bellosom and also could decrease in levels - Same friend tricked me out of my second metal coat, so I couldn't get Steelix in that file - Almost fainted after evolving my Pupitar, Tyranitar has been one of my favorites ever since - Trading Mew to Silver and raising it to Level 100 - Completed my entire Pokedex sans Celebi, in my original Crystal file - Catching Heracross after headbutting trees for hours on end - Cloning Pokemon constantly to get multiple Masterballs - Losing to that bastard Nick at the Bug Catching Contest almost every time (I was so happy when I finally beat him by catching a Scyther) |
Yellow: Playing my friend JB's game, which at the time I had no idea what to do and wandered about Viridian City and Route 1 aimlessly.
Blue/Yellow: Getting my own games... oooh how exciting! I got them both for my 10th birthday and played like a madman. I remember being really excited and proud of myself when I beat the Elite Four in Blue for the first time. And then I caught Missingno and screwed it all up two "Play-throughs" later. Gold/Crystal: Catching Ho-oh and meeting Eusine, respectively, were some of my best memories of these games. Ironicly, the E4 isn't in here (nor is Kanto) because I haven't beaten them... yet. Still, good times, good times... |
Red/Blue/Yellow
Catching every last Pokemon there was. And then hearing that Gold and silver would come out soon...Made me so angry making me catch more of those little buggers. Making my Squirtle evolve into Blastoise and beating anyone who dared challenged him! Using my blue version to beat the Elite 4 in 4 hours! Finding out the Missingno cheat and abusing it to high heck. Catching a Missingno only to find out...He didn't kill my game like all my other friends. Gold/Silver/Crystal Almost catching them all...Stupid Celebi! Being so surprised finding I could go back to the first games area! Admiring that Theif of a rival! Always beating my Brothers Super Typhlosion with my Feraligatr! It would always bring my Feraligatr to about 30 HP with one attack, A Hydro Pump would then one hit his PKMN every time! Putting in over 300 hours into my Gold version. Finding out that for some reason certain stations would keep the legendary Dogs in one spot long enough for me to catch them all. Maybe it was just some extreme luck but I think it was the Radio station.. |
G/S/C:
-The first time I played through, I remember the battle with Lance. It was between his final Dragonite and my Feraligatr. I had no potions/revives left. Little did I know at the time, Dragonite are weak to Ice x4. I used Ice Punch in the hope that it would freeze him, but when it OHKO'd instead, I was very happy. :D -Laughing at the Grunt in Kanto with the bad English. -Discovering the 3 starter glitch. -Finding Red.. at the time my Pokemon were level 60.. it was a big shock when I saw his level 81 Pika. -Bug Catching Contest.. ah.. -Dark Cave's music. <3 R/B/Y: -Getting the game from a 13 year old when I was 6. -Never finding Flash and going through all the caves in the dark. -Mah Blastoise. |
I remember spending 2 hours trying to catch ho-oh with my one ultra ball i was so happy when he finally stayed in =)
|
That was such a good game im trying to hunt my copy of crystal out to go on it but im still stuck on emerald til i get another ds.
|
Yellow was my first game.
I used to think the guy blocking Cerulean Cave had one of those hats the british guard guys wear,,,til he moved and I was like OHHH IT'S THE CAVE ENTRANCE, DUH. Being pissed that I couldn't evolved Pikachu... HATING FIGHTING BROCK WITH JUST PIKACHU. I only used to raise my starter and no one else... Missingno. I screamed when I first found it bc my cousin convinced me it was a monster, told me how to get it, I tried, found it and was like AHHH OH MY GOD NONONONONONNONONONO. And wouldn't play the game for a while. Reading a guide for the B/R/Y games and seeing "And now, you're in Lavender Town! Here, you get...GREAT BALLS! (Stop laughing, you pervs, not THOSE balls)" and being unable to quit laughing. Anddd using my brother's master ball on a Ditto. Now Crystal. Oh my gaaah. Favorite Game ever. I was little then. Like 5 or 6 I think... so y'know, it was my second Pokemon game on my brand new see-through pink GBA that I got for being an all-A student. My first game ON that Game Boy. I got so attached to my Pokemon. Omg I loved my Feraligatr. I caught a Shiny Snubbull. My first ever shiny. Omg I had the Pokerus right after I started the game! I cried, I thought my Pokes would die, then I was like "Woah this is the coolest death disease EVER my Pokemon are leveling up...oh no they're dying quicker then!!!! But...they're leveling up. And maybe I'll get to bury them in the graveyard!!!!!" I was a weird child. Catching Suicune and being soooo proud. Catching Entei and Raikou. I put so much time into that game... I can't even tell you all my memories. It was GREAT. I released my Meganium once on a diff save file 'cause someone told me if my Pokemon loved me enough and I released it, it'd follow me. I cried... But my Feraligatr file, w the shiny Snubbull, was my favorite... I had my first Espeon on that file. And my Feraligatr. A Larvitar I named Strawberry bc the red on its tummy looked like a strawberry. I nicknamed my Snubbull Grape, my Feraligatr Blueberry, my Espeon purplecherry. XDD And I always felt so accomplished bc I wqas an excellent read-er and could understand Pokemon and the words so well I'd read it out loud to my older brother. So yeah. Fond, fond memories. But my younger sister stole and sold my Yellow at a yard sale last year. And my "best friend" stole Crystal bout 5 years ago, when I was in 5th grade...]= Lol and at like, 6 years ol I totally thought my Rival would be the cutest real life boy ever. And I named him Marcus. OH AND THE FACT THAT KRIS WAS A CHARACTER, I WAS SO HAPPY TO FINALLY BE A CUTE BLUE HAIRED LITTLE GIRL. |
RED:
getting my Charizard to lv 100 getting my Rhydon to lv 100 beating all of the gyms and the elite four before my older brother catching 149 pokemon and getting really angry that i killed mewtwo GOLD/CRYSTAL getting my Feraligatr to lv 100 getting my other Rhydon to lv 100 beating the game before my brother( again ) catching the red Gyarados because I thought it was special |
RBY: Accidentally deleted my cousin's Charizard while trying to duplicate it an illegal way >.< I spent the next week leveling up a charmander to compensate for my terrible mistake. Going to the movies to see the first pokemon movie. This involved only 1 talking pokemon and 2 hours of "pika pika". As a result, my parents never wanted to hear the word pokemon again XD.
G/S: Beating my cousin (long time pokemon rival) with my Typhlusion. Getting a gameshark which allowed me to create any pokemon with any moves at any level. I ran into a group of kids while in a restaurant and demolished them with my team of over powered pokemon. I ended up trading them some lvl 100 pokemon for their rares. Good times :) |
Yellow: It took me REALLY long to actually beat the game. Naming my Nidoqueen "Melons" , get the joke? I tried multiple times to evolve pikachu into raichu, until I got rid of my starter one, and replaced it with the Lv50 my older cousin had in her crystal. I then realized that pikachu is unevolvable in this game....
Gold: Getting Stuck in towns and constatly pumping up levels only to realize that the kanto gyms are at the same level during each battle. Trading like crazy in summer camp which then became a pokemon camp. Breeding like a million of starter pokemon once I realized the wonders of ditto breeding. |
Gold: Named my rival ???
When I beat the elite four the first time. It must have taken me at least 15 attempts. I was at day-camp and I ran around screaming because I was so happy. ^^; I fainted the Red Gyarados. I caught Raikou with my masterball. I caught a shiny hoothoot just outside of newbark town, so I thought I was just like Ash (my character in gold was named Ash). I defeated Red on the first try (and yet it took me forever to beat the elite four O__o). After being trapped in a cave for a month, I finally realized that flash would light it up. I was so happy that I got out of the cave. XD How shocked and excited I was when I found out I could go to Kanto. Wondering how I was supposed to get an Espeon. I always ended up getting Umbreon. XP Crystal: I can be a girl this time? -insert giant spazz moment here- Being disappointed that I couldn't catch a mareep. Finally caught the red gyarados. =D Never EVER got a shiny from the odd egg. I always got a non-shiny igglybuff. |
I actually wasn't all into gold and silver when it came out, I still had my yellow team of Dizzy the Pikachu, Melons the Nidoqueen, King the Fearow, Fatbutt the Snorlax, Mai the Marowak, and my useless tagalong, Jerry the Rattata. I owned with these guys until the gold and silver games along with stadium 2 came out. I wanted to see what the fuss was about with the games, so I entered a tournament using stadium 2 games at my school. Needless to say, I was murdered until I got Gold.
Once I went through the johto region and traded my yellow pokes to gold, I was back on top again, but once I heard that crystal was coming to America, I started training like a madman. A new kid in my class who had imported a Japanese Crystal along with the cell phone adapter, he became the talk of the school. I battled him and I discovered the terrors of the almighty Suicune at Lv100, and lost as well... We became great buddies and I still hang out with him everynow and then. I actually plan to dump the most recent updates of Brown onto a empty red cartcridge I got from a pawn shop. Soon I will bring my old team out of retirement and into the riijon region! |
Catching a Muk with a masterball in yellow because it used minimize and i thought it was going to be impossible to catch
I didnt even use it afterwards -_- |
Spring 2002:
Not knowing how to save and thinking I got stuck in Elm's lab I think there was no space between time and phone cards the first time I played it Trying to get to the lake behind Cherrygrove Talking to the strange tree near Violet I think the second Slowpoke in Slowpoke Well was blue Making Kurt craft me Poké Balls (almost) every day Chasing that Farfetch'd in Ilex Forest Thinking that the grass Pokémon related to the shrine was Bulbasaur Finally reaching Goldenrod at night and listening to the music Spending time in the National Park Catching Yanma near it Putting two Pokémon into the daycare and getting an egg Putting two Hoothoots there and wondering why they didn't produce an egg Beating the Sudowoodo Arriving at Ecruteak and battling the kimono girls Listening to the mysterious broadcast in Mahogany Solving the first puzzle in Ruins of Alph Summer 2002: Beating the red Gyarados Exploring the Rocket hideout Spending a lot of time at the lighthouse Getting a Shuckle in Cianwood Beating Chuck Norris Crying when Team Rocket took over the radio tower (my favourite place) Somehow getting to Route 45 from Dark Cave Surfing to Kanto and listening to Places & People Evolving my Golbat to a Crobat Wondering why Crobat's Curse was different from Gastly's Autumn 2002: Catching Ho-Oh Getting to Kanto and letting a relative of mine beat it and the Elite 4 Winter 2003: Catching Lugia 2004-2006 (I don't exactly remember): Catching a Lickitung Catching a Lapras (almost) every Friday Autumn 2007: Catching a Murkrow Realising that the Hoothoots were both male Getting them back at levels 42 and 43 Losing the save because of the dry battery 2002 was the best year in my whole life. |
I have to say, one of the most memorable parts in G/S/C was when Lance ran away to the Mahogany Hideout, and then I would use Fly and get to the shop in 10 seconds, hoping he wouldn't say "You are late!" or something like that... failing every single time XD I was so silly by then.
|
Red and Blue:
Getting my Charmander and evolving it to a Charizard. Awesomest thing I have ever done. Catching Mewtwo :) It was a beast of a Pokemon, and it still is. For a challenge, I used Lv.1 pokemon against the Elite Four. What was I thinking? Yellow: Pikachu dude. Gold and Silver: Called Silver "Stupid" and yeah, my friends laughed at it when I was playing it. Killed the Red Gyarados. WHYYYY?????? Coming to Kanto. :) Beat Champion Lance but I dropped my Game Boy Color and I had to start again because I didnt save it. >.> Crystal: Playing the female for about an hour before I started again as a man. >.> |
R/B/Y: Continually saving over my brother's games and getting yelled at, glitching up my brother's game by running into MissingNo. and being glad it wasn't M, turning my brother's game off in fear when the level 225 Golbat I just caught went back to level 100, stealing my brothers game and saving over it with a pitiful file less than 1% beat, performing the mew glitch and failing to catch it, wondering whether it would be a good idea to stuff grass and dirt up my Blue version (which I had stolen from my brother) to see what would happen to it, stealing my brother's Red version and trading his Raichu (which I had evolved from Pikachu without telling him) to the man on Cinnabar Island, feeling excited when the man on Cinnabar Island told me the Raichu had evolved . . .
G/S/C: Continually saving over my brother's games when he was about to battle Red and getting yelled at, my brother finally giving up and giving his Gold version to me so I could stop destroying his game files, becoming obsessed with cloning pokemon in Gold version, being relieved when the first gym wasn't a rock type one, making plans to steal my brother's Crystal version and save over that, making plans to screw up my brother's Crystal version and keep it that way, my Gold version being the time-source when my family was stuck in a cabin with no electricity on vacation . . . The list could go on. ~Night |
Hello! First post, and here's my memories.
Crystal was my first game, and I got it bundled with a gameboy advance. -I was crying in excitement as I opened the present to find it being a GBA. I still remember that moment, and the exact moment I opened it. Amazing. -I played that game on a rocking chair, and still have fond memories when on it. -My starter was Totodile, and I loved that thing so much. LOVED IT. -I played it everywhere, including the car and stores. -I remember being in the school parking lot, and releasing my starter pokemon and freaked out and turned the game off right away. Good thing I didn't save. -A kid named Jordan was convincing people that rubbing that gold plate thing with pokemon on it you get from Burger King on your batteries would transfer that pokemon onto the game. -It took a couple years, but I finally realized that you could name the rival other things, not just ???. -This is painful, but in the school parking lot again, I wiped my save and started crying for days straight. -I beat the game again, but the internal battery died, so I can't play it anymore. I am sad. I guess emulators will have to do. FireRed I was a bit older, but still younger none-the-less. -I traded my Charzard for a Zapados and still want it back... Diamond -Sitting in my bathroom sticking my DS-chunky out the window struggling to get a connection with my friend a block away, and finally getting a connection and playing CTF underground. |
Heh, this should be fun...
The first time I played Red, I thought the game finished at Celadon. Like, you got there and had to start again. Then a friend told me I could play the Pokeflute and move Snorlax, and there was a whole other part of Kanto past it! I was amazed... The music in Lavender Tower making me sad :( I also remember dropping my GBC many, many times (once in a supermarket, and the game actually came out), but the damn thing still works. |

In Gold...I remember I didn't know how to get to Mr Pokemons house and so I just leveld up my Typhlosion to level 48. The rest of the game was just my typhlosion soloing the game hahaha. I can still remember him using firewheel.... And then spending hours of frustration trying to get to Ho-Oh. Finally catching him and then making a clone army of Ho-Ohs. :) And then getting Lugia in those island/cave things. That was even worse than Ho-Oh. I remember once I went to a friends house and we both speculated on how to get to Lugia and discussed plans on how to catch him and what he would be like etc. It was so good having to learn everything yourself, not just using the interent to check. My friend and I both entered the island place of Lugia one day and we spent the whole day trying to find him. A few minutes before my mum came to pick me up I found Lugia and captured him. My friend was SOOOOO jealous of me. :) |
I remember taking hours to find the right entrance to the Whirl Islands on Silver...and I still don't know how ten years later. XD
|
I remember yellow was the first Pokemon game I ever played and it was my brothers - everytime I played it I wasn't allowed to save because it would wipe his save game... then I remember when I was given my own gameboy and Pokemon yellow.. very happy days =D
|
My greatest memory was in silver having Typhlosion the only pokemon i ever used, and beat the entire elite 4 with just him, i felt so awesome! That was like the first time I ever heard about pokemon.
|
RBY-
I was afraid of everything. Especially the ghosts in Lavender Town.. everything about Lavender town scared me. The elite four scared me. Mewtwo scared me. Caves scared me... Team Rocket scared me, etc lol. GSC: I FREAKED OUT when I found that patch with the smeargle in it! That was pure luck lol.. I can't find it in HGSS. D: Catching Suicune with like, 1000 fast balls. :> Beating Whitney. UGH STUPID MILTANK WITH ROLLOUT Best one was that I thought the "L" that you see in battle that represents level was a "1", so I thought I had an lvl 117 Girafarig, and was devastated when my game stopped working... xDDD |
Silver was my first game, and I remember how excited I was to go on my first ever Pokemon journey (like the anime except not quite) with my Cyndaquil. I remember how I would put all my effort into training Cyndaquil and only captured other Pokemon just so I could have a party of six Pokemon. They all ended up being like level 10+ so they were pretty useless later on. If my Cyndaquil (later Typhlosion) happened to lost to a gym leader, it would usually do a lot of damage and I would switch out to another Pokemon until the leader's Pokemon fainted. And then my low leveled Pokemon would grow like 5+ levels after one battle. Haha.
And I remember how I was completely stumped on how to reach Morty in the Ecruteak Gym. I even talked to the trainers in the gym, but what they said didn't make sense. I then just tried different ways to get across until I eventually got it. That was so frustrating at the time. As stupid as it sounds now, I thought I was the greatest trainer on the planet to have level 100 legends. I thought my team could beat anyone. It destroyed my ego when I finally had Internet and bragged about my team on a Pokemon forum, only to be told by older players that my team was full of ubers. So every time I see people brag about their team and it's made up of mostly legends, it reminds me of that embarrassing moment when I was younger. : P Gold, I never finished, but I started it because I didn't want to restart my Silver game. I had a lot of hours dedicated to that game as well as a lot of level 100s and I didn't want all that hard work to go to waste. However, I never finished Gold after all that. I remember encountering my first shiny (besides Gyarados) and it was Geodude. I was pretty much indifferent to it, but I still captured it and I never used it. The game file was deleted, so I never had a chance to trade it over to my more active games when I later discovered how rare it was. XD Then I bought used cartridges of R/B/Y and played Red while following this book I bought from Scholastic Book Orders. It was like a story based on the entire gameplay of Pokemon Red almost like a walkthrough except it was a story and the writer listed his nicknames for his Pokemon. I even named my Pokemon the same as his (and caught the same Pokemon he caught). Still, my Charmander (or Charmer was his name) was my strongest Pokemon like Cyndaquil was in my other game. |

I remember the OFFICIAL GUIDE that came with my Pokemon Red said there were Tauros in the grass on Cycling Road and I remember I killed like twenty AA batteries looking for a Tauros
|
Staying up till 2am beating the Johto!Elite Four and then beating Brock and Misty... ah memories :D
Not to mention I remember my Gold cart smelled AWESOME :D Ahhhh... shame I lost it years ago :( Oh yeah, my Togepi was pretty redundant as back then I didn't believe in non-attacking moves. I just use to pump up my starter (more often than not Cyndaquil) to lv. 100 while the rest of my party were lv. 2 Pidgeys or whatever :D Oh yeah, anticipating the release for months beforehand was fun :D |
Remember that bridge near Misty's gym where you were asked if you wanted to join Team Rocket? I ALWAYS WANTED TO JOIN THEM!!! The game wouldn't let me though... ._."
|
Boo! And I wanted to catch the "ghost" of Pokemon tower in Lavender! But I can't... And no one probably caught it. ._.
|
I remember not knowing the legendary dogs (plz dont flame my chosen name of them) traveled and running into Entei, who to this day is my favorite legendary, and him running away and being like NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO and looking in that grass for like 2 days before giving up
|
Blue: I don't know how it happened (probably a glitch or some odd event that'll never happen again), but when I was going through Rock Tunnel, I encountered a level 7 Staryu!! Don't believe me? Yeah, I'd probably say it was a lie as well... but I really did see one and I happened to capture it as well.
Gold: Defeating the Elite Four for the first time. I know it sounded stupid, but I was young back then and I was having real difficulty trying to defeat them with my current team. I remember my brother loaning me his level 70+ Seaking and me crusing through it. I nearly died as well since Seaking ran out of PP and I had to use "Struggle" on Lance's Pokemons to defeat them. I think Seaking was left with a few HP before I managed to take down his Aerodaytcal using Struggle. |
i remember getting pokemon yellow off my older brother and playing for the first time. all i remember from that day is getting it off my brother and pressing down instead of A when oak was talking(darn those misleading arrows!).
|
i remember getting pokemon yellow, played it nonstop, and got it taken away everynight because i wouldent go to sleep.
|
I remember my level 100 Typhlosion, and my next highest being a level 11 prevolution of Quagmire (Oh noes I am forgetting Pokemon names!)
|
One of my first times playing my Pokemon Yellow Version game.
I was quite young, so yerrr. I really loved my Pikachu and I probs only had about 2 other pokemon, who I never ended up leveling up. I got up to about the 4th or 5th Gym with my Pikachu at a really good level and these 2 other Lvl 7 pokemon. I realised it was a mistake, so I started again :3 |
when i wanted to go from my crystal to the town that has gym leader ghost type pokemon and was dark floor down and you could't pass from there except you knew the right way omg 3-4 weeks to pass the route and then a friend om mine told me how :D
wasted time another time i threw my masted ball to a persian lol |
I remember being five playing pokemon blue on my brothers gameboy owning every pokemon with his mewtwo, altho i had no idea what iwas doing, but it was fun
|
I remember Pokemon crystal, Having to replace the save battery, playing pokemon for the first time, my cyndaquil being a girl, finding raikou and entei on the way to olivine within 6 minutes of each other, finding a level 40 dragonair in dragon's den, discovering that lance was the champion, having a level 70 typhlosion while fighting clair, using the cloning glitch for the first time, finding the red gyrados, seeing a blue- eyed beedrill, and being wasted by red's snorlax, and, of course, getting my sudowoodo.
|
Catching a Pidgeotto in Viridian Forest at my grandmother's house on Christmas. I received Pokemon Yellow earlier that day. Pidgeot was basically the only Pokemon I used in that game, and was my first level 100. Still have him on my Gold cartridge somewhere. To this day Pidgeot is my favorite Pokemon.
|
RBY: catching a Level 242 Rapidash, catching Mewtwo with my cousin, beating Gary as champion of the first time, a more recent one is catching a mew. this one was unique in that there are 2 ways which i caught mew. the first was with a gameshark, we only had the general encounter code, but no pokemon codes. so i ask my younger brother to put in a random number. he puts in 15, and voila! Mew! also, Catching it semi-legal via the mew glitch was cool too... and i must be the only person in the world to have run from a mew.
GSC:Playing as a Girl in crystal (strangely),catching a Pikachu after searching all over Johto for one, beating Red, and hearing of all the fake cheat code and glitches thrown around by me and my friends. also, related to the mew glitch, i traded my mew to crystal (and fretting all the way that it might corrupt my data) and seeng the closest thing to a legal event pokemon on a crystal. Replaying Crystal a couple of years ago and the Egg the day-care couple gave me hatched into a SHINY Cleffa. (:
|
I remember when we named the rival (my brother and I)...
We named him: Rival. We thought we were absolutely genius! xD |
When my Typhlosion was level 89 in Mahogany town but I couldnt figure out the Ice Puzzle DX
|
Beating Pokemon Yellow in less than 24 hours of playing time.
Naming my Rival in Pokemon Gold, Mr. Bean. Facing my brothers Red Caterpie that was burnt. Somehow my brother encountering a male Jynx, but it fled. |
