What are some top noch battle statigies of yours

Hi I am new here and want to know new battle combos.

One of my is belly drum, reversal and a focus band if you have one.

I will unvail more battle combos latter.

Pikachu-dance! October 9th, 2009 7:08 AM

with my new moon darkrai i use this combo and is very effective:
hypnosis, nightmare, faint attack

and i dont want to mini-mod but shouldent this go in the strategys and movesets sub-forum?

The Darkest Gale October 9th, 2009 7:13 AM

you are right

on the subject:D if its a proper startedy I use fast and furious! ninjask:speed boost even though fast along with agility and bug buzz
salamence: fast and furious hyper beam ^^ *evil laugh*
that is my strtedy but the other four are picked depending on how I feel :D lol

GengarNightmare October 9th, 2009 12:43 PM

Here's three I use:

Focus sash + Destiny Bond
Focus sash on a Timid Gengar that knows Destiny Bond is deadly. Cheap but deadly. :D Timid means it'll be fast, which it needs to be fast so it can use destiny bond just before it is killed. Here's what you do:

1st turn: "Free" turn, meaning you are usually safe to try your luck at KOing (unless of course the opponent is faster, like Aerodactyl, or uses Fake out, ect.)
2nd turn: Depending on how much damage you've done in turn one, and you're still alive thanks to focus sash, you can now try to 2HKO. If you can't, use Destiny Bond. This is a really good strategy to use in the Battle Tower. In most cases, you will KO at least one of the NPCs pokemon by the time Gengar goes down. That leaves you with only two more to deal with.

Swords Dance + Bullet Punch
This is the classic set up executed by Scizor, since Scizor is by far the best at it. It's simple: Scizor uses Swords Dance, but it is outran by the opponent. Suddenly, Scizor attacks immediately afterward because bullet punch is a priority move, and BAM, dead pokemon. After a 200% increase from Swords Dance, a 130% increase from Life Orb, another 150% from STAB, yet another 150% from Technician, and a possible 200% if it is super-effective (critical hits anyone?), suddenly that base 40 attack becomes monsterous.

Wish + Protect
IMO Vaporeon is the best at pulling this off. Wish takes two turns, right? Well since Vaporeon is (like Scizor) kinda slow it can use wish after the opponent, and then immediately throw up protect to avoid damage, then wish hits. This becomes extremely frustrating for opponents if Toxic is thrown into the mix.

Blaziquaza October 9th, 2009 12:50 PM

Fury Cutter+Metronome(item)
A very simple one.Metronome boosts the power of a move that keeps hitting, and then Fury Cutter boosts itself when it keeps hitting.STAB and super effective as well?By the fourth hit Fury Cutter should have about 150-200 Power, probably, which =BLAM!

Amore October 9th, 2009 1:05 PM

Uhhhh.....i have a strategy.Works well against non-competitive players. It's called:

Send out crappy pokemon first (preferably normal-type, only one weakness).
Send in fighting resistor that knows pursuit, i.e. Spiritomb
Pursuit them on switch out.

MagicMike October 9th, 2009 9:12 PM

I still enjoy my old Substitute + Focus Punch.
Substitute gives you the free time you need to charge the Focus Punch. Only pain is that this only works a few times. :(

SaiiKo October 10th, 2009 5:05 AM

Swords Dance + Focus Sash
Naughty Lucario @focus sash (prevents a ohko when hp is full)
-close combat
-swords dance
-stone edge
-aura sphere (though it's really handy agains double teamers, I'll replace it with earthquake, because my sp att sucks)

so on first turn I dance with some swords, if my opponent doesn't attack or does less then half of my hp, I do my dance routine again, if he does over half (he can't kill me thx to my focus sash) I use close combat or stone edge.
This works really effective in the Battle Tower.

trick+sticky barb
Rotom @sticky barb (does some damage to the holder every turn, my latch to users that touch the holder)
-thunder wave
-trick
-omnious wind
-thunder bolt

again a battle tower tactic,
so you start of by tricking your barb with your opponent's item (in the battle tower they almost always have an item) not only does it hurt your opponent every turn, (since i don't use any physical moves, it can't latch to me) but you may also get a usefull item (leftovers, choise specs, black belt, berries) and if it isn't to usefull for you (mystic water, a plate, a berry you used,...) you can trick the next pokemon too :)

Charmageddon October 10th, 2009 10:25 AM

You know how Rampardos has insanely high attack, but is pretty slow? Well, I formulated this strategy after a similar one was used against me.

- Send out Ninjask
- Use substitute until Ninjask's HP is as low as it can be (using Agility at some point if you can)
- Use Baton Pass, and switch in Rampardos
- With Life Orb, Choice Scarf or similar attached, sweep through the opponent's team with a moveset like Earthquake/Stone Edge/Superpower/Thrash or similar.

DragoniteAirMail October 10th, 2009 11:03 AM

Get a skarmory then teach it toxic spikes and whirlwind
set toxic spikes then whirlwind through every pokemon in the party
once each is posioned send out a metagross to finish them off (or you could use an alkazam)
just in case keep a high defense pokemon ( ex. aggron who has high defense and also attack =] ) with a killer move like earthquake or double-edge
That should do ya! Espcially good in battle tower

Shiny Shaymin October 10th, 2009 11:15 AM

I have no 'statigies', I have a strategy.

Hypnosis+Dream Eater
This is a simple and effective strategy. You put the foe to sleep and eat it's dreams!
Muha ha ha...

Dusknoirs October 10th, 2009 3:34 PM

Sub and Focus Pawnch.

SaiiKo October 12th, 2009 7:24 AM

simply dancing for some rain and shoking your oppponents with a mighty thunder works too :)

BiZNicK October 12th, 2009 11:47 AM

i dont care to get all technical. I just like to hit em' fast and hit em' hard.

I like versatile movesets that can do some immediate damage, can not stand dragging, grind it out battles...

Destroy the opponent as fast as possible!!! I've always enjoyed that style of battling.

Lord Yawgmoth October 13th, 2009 12:57 PM

I've always wanted to try out the Fury Cutter/Metronome combo.
Maybe with a Dugtrio, so you can safely build up on something that can't damage you and outspeed a ton of stuff?

Evoslingerr October 13th, 2009 4:16 PM

Medicham with three star techniques...

Toxic

Detect

Protect

Something like Mean Look... or equivalent...

How does that work? (I needed to increase the number of characters for 25 so I write this stupid nonsense... Thanks...)

You three are using varry commin battle strategy to come up with, for new commer and they are staring you in the face, beside you are using commin strategy esey found by sufing the web. I would perfer not to have the commin ones

As for my next strategy have a pokemon use worry seed, skill swap, or gastro acid on rigigigas to incress his stats to normal.

Lollypop October 14th, 2009 1:07 AM

Magneton

Lock on and Zap cannon? Thunder works well too.

HappyEmoKid October 14th, 2009 1:10 AM

i normally give a lvl 5 ratatta a Focus band and the moves
Endevour
quick attack
....Dont need the rest
...." "

A higher lvl will almost kill giving it 1 hp. endevour will also bring the other pokemon to 1 hp. Quick Attack will then pwn the 1hp pokemon

(sorry for bad grammer im not good at it =( )

You do realise that's like, the most commonly used strategy in gaming?

And it has a name, bud. F.E.A.R.

Nah, u see, Quick attack always hits first so unless the other pokemon uses extremespeed, mach Punch etc. The Ratatta will always kill the 1hp pokemon

Oh, really? i always thought that was a strategy only known to me XD

Kazukii October 14th, 2009 3:31 AM

A few different things I like to do to completely trash my friends who are n00btastic.

1) I will sometimes get my awesome EV trained Weavile out and use swords dance. Once my Weavile has it's swords dance enabled, it whipes every Pokemon on my opponents side. It was funny to watch my friends jaws drop.

2) I learned alot from Shoddy Battle when I used to do it. My online friends taught me how to battle properly. I learned to use Pokemon like Breloom & Lickilicky. Breloom is fantastic because it can use it's spores to send the opponent to sleep. Then it can move onto a killer move that finishes the opponent. Lickilicky was great because it knew the move "Curse" which made its stats go through the roof. From there, it whiped all the others.

So, my best advice in battle strategies is to use stat boosters as they really do make a shocking difference to your battle.

Haza October 14th, 2009 3:42 AM

XD Ithought of the Rattata in my own and thought it was original. I also gave it Sucker Punch for Ghost types. And Toxic for other occasions.

KurlyFries October 14th, 2009 7:46 PM

On 2 vs. 2 I've considered using Follow me on Togekiss and Using Amnesia/Iron Defense/Agility on Gorebyss until I can Baton Pass it to Tyranitar. Then after Togetic's KO'd I bring out Latias and sweep from there.
