or are you guys gonna just plan it out?

Like I said several posts above, we will meet and take turns selecting Commanders.

Phoenix2389 November 5th, 2009 4:37 PM

OK.................Thats what I thought you said.

To help center the discussion, this is an important post:

However, they can change everything for the next facility.

An issue I have run into is the number of Executives. While we have 12 Commanders, perfect for pairing with 4 Executives, there so happens to be that #5 spot.

"But Davis, why don't you just have the President be a final boss for after someone has defeated the four facilities?"

That's a good question, me.
Because then what does the challenger get to do with their team for that?
Free game? Our final boss will go down fast and hard.

Boom. Discussion, go.

The Roshi November 5th, 2009 4:39 PM

Why not erase that position all together? It's more like a workaround than an actual solution.

But then you wouldn't have a final test...

I mean I think beating all four facilities is good enough. The four executives are horribly strong.

Painter November 5th, 2009 4:40 PM

i say we find an uber awesome battler to be our prez

SCV058 November 5th, 2009 4:41 PM

Woops, my bad.
What if to get to the final executive they must beat three handpicked executives or commanders first?

The very concept of our structure is to have a position for every type of pokemon. That happens to be 17 types (12 commanders and 5 executives). Remove one and it feel incomplete, which subsequently disturbs me on a deeper level of my obsessive compulsive disorder.

I Agree........................

Somehow, I doubt that will manage to entirely curb the inevitable ease with which adept challengers will rip apart a monotype team given free reign.

17 types of pokemon in the game. 5 Executives, 12 Commanders.

Could work. However, then they are just fighting the same people again. That comes across to me as extremely unsatisfying, similar in nature and frustration to the boss recap in Wind Waker and O-Kami (otherwise excellent games except for this time consuming and pointless feature).

Painter November 5th, 2009 4:46 PM

yea well idk what to do i think normal is the unused type so find an expert on normal types that would be willing to take the job ???

SCV058 November 5th, 2009 4:46 PM

Could switch up the teams of those chosen by the executive?

The Roshi November 5th, 2009 4:46 PM

After a challenger has proven himself worthy and bested the four [facilities of destiny] a fifth and final [facility] shall open. Enter the Master [facility]. The challenger will be allowed to change his team just like he would for any other [facility] (assuming that's how it works). He must defeat each previous executive (who each hold new teams, the uber pokemon being the only constant) -- A feat that should not be too impossible if the previous defeats were legitimate -- and will then challenge the final and fifth executive of Team Destiny -- The President.

Something like that maybe?

facility is in brackets because I don't know the official name that will be used for each house.

crimsonstorm November 5th, 2009 4:47 PM

One of the facilities should be the tower of domination. ;)

XDLugia November 5th, 2009 4:47 PM

Then why not have one facility to have two executives?
This would be considered the toughest one and probably the last to be challenged.
That way we can have all types used, but the down side is that five people won't get to battle any time soon.

Already done. That is not the issue. The issue is sorting this out. Someone here, I am sure, will eventually contribute a solid solution.

This is definitely workable. However, it falls back on what I said earlier about boss recaps and how they annoyed me in Wind Waker and O-kami. These are examples of where exactly what you said happened and was uncool.

That is also workable. The problem I see is that it makes one facility special, which is degrading to those not in it. It says look at us and how great we are, we have five people and two executives.

Painter November 5th, 2009 4:48 PM

yea well im pretty sure it wont be me cuz i got nothing >.<

Phoenix2389 November 5th, 2009 4:54 PM

well there is something to I really wanna disscus, the team typing, now I know myself(not really sure about everyone else) Im having a hard time covering everything, and in my last match against Polkop I was walled, not by a water type not by a rock type but a Dragon, and not just any dragon A Flygon, and with only (I think)three Fire types that can learn either Dragon pulse or any other Dragon attack I just feel as though I should be more equipped to handle them. Now i can see if you dont want the elec commander using a Grass type, but at least make it so we can use types that are related, and by related I mean in the real world, Volcanoes have rockes in them, Plants need water, electricity bonds withs steel and so on, so just think about it.

Scientist Davis November 5th, 2009 4:55 PM

To be honest, in spite of my hesitance given gaming precedent, I am leaning toward The Roshi's suggestion.

Anyone care to contribute? Is there a flaw in it which has not immediately occurred to me?

Painter November 5th, 2009 4:56 PM

interesting lol if that gets passed not sure if it would help me much dragons breathe fire is all i can think of XD

That is why I am setting up the facility system. Your opponents will be going at you with a team they must use for the rest of your facility, same pokemon and same moves. Something they set up specifically for you will be a dump case against the next. Facilities will be organized to cover their own weaknesses.

Painter November 5th, 2009 4:58 PM

yea with the facility thing... i call dibs on commander fortune XD steel really takes all my weaknesses and my dragons take nearly andything that takes out steel also

The Roshi November 5th, 2009 5:00 PM

@POKE-Phoenix
Eh... that's too much of a stretch and definitely gets rid of the whole idea of Team Destiny.

Sorry Phoenix, either nut up or shut up. (Zombieland, not being an ass)

I got walled by Greene's celebi. Thank god it wasn't a TD match. These are things we have to deal with.

Too bad it doesn't work that way.

Phoenix2389 November 5th, 2009 5:03 PM

I understand that, its just they come in with a team of grounds to take out the elec, and the lose to the water, that just doesnt seem fun to me. Id much rather have something that could turn the tides against someone who would bring only waters against me. But hey its just an Idea, Ive been doing fine with 6 Fire-types, I would like the type rule changed but, I dont need it changed.

SoIll just leave it to you and the other execs.
