Yeah, research on the RNG for HG/SS is far from done from the looks of it. How the selected few pulled it off I have no clue.

I would say that the RNG in HG/SS isnt 100% crakced yet (lol mingot didnt get a chnce to get his hands on it) but its fairly identical to the RNG in DPPt. Unfortuneatly there is no Journal in HG/SS :( Which really sucks lol hopefully they do find out a reliable way to Advance the RNG...
Anyways has anyone seen this? Its an announcement from the creator of Pokemon announcing a new Generation :D Generation 5
Id link to the Thread but dont have enough Posts :(
EDIT: Heres a piece of info about it
An entirely new "Pocket Monsters" series is under development for release in 2010.
The Pokemon Company (headed by Tsunekazu Ishihara) has announced that the newest work in the Pocket Monsters RPG series (Game Freak, Nintendo) is being developed for the Nintendo DS for release by the end of 2010.
Since its first entry, "Pocket Monsters Red and Green" from 1996, the "Pocket Monsters" series has received high acclaim from customers around the world for its distinctive universe and gameplay that involves communicating between different versions to trade and battle. Sales for the entire series have climbed to over 130,000,000 copies worldwide.
The "Pocket Monsters" series for the Nintendo DS made use of the dual screen, touch screen, and Wi-Fi connection for play. The latest project under development is a completely new work, coming four years after "Pocket Monsters Diamond and Pearl" which boasts worldwide sales of over 17,150,000 copies (over 5,800,000 in Japan). It should make an innovative, fresh start by adding even more new game play and new Pokemon.
Please anticipate a later article with news about the game's content.
PS: If you think this is a hoax or Spin-off it isnt ;)

Well, it still does they certainly are working on the RNG so far. At worst, people know to RNG in Platinum and breed in HG/SS...and all the legendaries save Lugia and Ho-oh can be easily RNG'd in past Gen IV or Gen III games.

I know I've seen this piece of info on Gen V somewhere before...it's real but it seems a bit too early. HG/SS hasn't even been out for a year yet (well, I guess it will be by then...but still).

Completely new series makes me want to think "spin-off" too, but that seems even less likely for some reason...guess we can only wait and see.

There has been an anncouncement from the creator of Pokemon

Spoiler:

The Pokémon Company announced today that a brand-new Pokémon RPG is set to be released later this year for the Nintendo DS. The original press release, along with Junichi Masuda's Blog entry on the announcement, have now both been translated by Bulbagarden webmaster Archaic. Given the mention of new Pokémon being included, and the statements that these games will be an "inventive rebirth" of the series and that the staff are "doing their best to exceed every Pokémon game before now", it would now appear that this is indeed an announcement for a fifth generation of main series games as was first speculated. This would be an interesting turn for the series to take, as two generations have never shared the primary console; while Generation II could be played on a regular Game Boy, it was designed with the Game Boy Color in mind.
The February 2010 edition of CoroCoro, due out in only a few weeks, is set to reveal a "surprising announcement", which will be related to this game, as well as the upcoming Pokémon movie, Phantom Ruler Z. In addition, we now know that the episode of Pokémon Sunday to be broadcast on February 7th will include an appearance from Junichi Masada himself, though no specific details have been released about what may be released here as of yet. With no Generation V Pokémon yet revealed, this would make for the shortest amount of time between the revelation of a brand-new Pokémon and its debut in the main series should these games be Generation V.

Pocket Monsters series complete new work! Under development for release by the end of 2010!!
Finally Japan, it has been announced without problems!!
Clap Clap Clap !!!
Though, that's not someone elses problem...(*sweats*)
Of course, development is all being done in-house.
Now, Game Freak's development department are eagerly working on development with the aim to exceed every Pokemon game made before now with innovative software!
By the way, for the purpose of giving more information...
Pokemon Diamond and Pearl have indeed really sold 17,150,000 copies around the world (5,800,000 copies domestically in Japan).
(Tokyo's population is approximately 13,000,000)
With great enthusasium, we are trying our best to surpass Diamond and Pearl! Everyone, please lend us your support!
Please have great expectations!
On the 7th of February (Sunday), on Pokemon Sunday, Masuda will appear in an emergency video?
Now that you know, please watch it. You should be able to get some news!
Ciao!

And it has been confirmed its not a Spin-ff because Nintendo and Gamefreak wouldnt be in on it, other companies make the Spin Offs...
Also If you think about it DP were released 4 Years ago.... thats plenty long enough to make a new generation irc the longest period between releases in the whole generations
Also irc I have heard this "new generation" will have nothing to do with DPPt, meaning not connecting with them at all.... Kinda changes alot of things to the Metagame...
Anyways hopefully some of you are as excited as I am to see updates on this "5th Generation" ^_^

I know the fonts small but its alot to read... And for some reason this forum (that I know of) doesnt have HIDE tags... Also note I took out all the links so I could post this....

HIDE tags, perhaps spoiler tags will do? Still, this is good info.

(Pfft, surpass Diamond and Pearl. They're really setting their standard too low).
Spoiler:
I kid, that's a biased opinion since I stick too close to Gen I&II. Although really? Electrive? Magmortar? Porygon-Z? What the heck?

O_o Thanks lol on Smogon its HIDE not Spoiler lol XD
Anyways they better hope they surpass DPPt, because if they are saying is true excluding DPPt from it completely then there going to need about 250 Pokemon for a Metagame and it will be small at that...
I mean maybe they'll bring a Time Machine like in GSC and only be able to trade things that existed in those games but still adding new moves and pokemon would split the Metagame of DPPt/HG/SS over this new Generation because not being able to battle with these new pokemon with older games....
1 Region for a Metagame imo is too small im taking into account only fully evolved Pokemon... Unless when they sat "exceed" DPPt they make it possible to catch all the Pokemon in it from the previous Generations...
And yea I agree pokemon over the years pokemon have gotten weirder and weirder....
Good thing its on the DS though!

Yep, that is possible, although very rare. Someone has to download the Oak's Letter (dates listed here), travel to Flower Paradise, save in front of Shaymin, and soft reset until Shaymin appears shiny.

Alternative February 9th, 2010 3:06 AM

I wanna ask something here.

Am I the only one against cloning Pokemon for trading?
I just think it's unfair for people who have access to AR and can hack to clone, whereas people who can't clone at all, get screwed over.

I just can't stand that whenever I trade Pokemon with someone, that they've cloned their Pokemon without telling, and they end up gaining something without me getting as much.

There, that ends my little rant.

A lot of people, especially event and IV breeders, clone their pokemon because others may also want it if it's in high demand. Not everyone uses an AR to clone.

Another note, I miss pokemon...sigh...the IV breeding was fun.

Why dont you ask them to clone and send a copy back...? Isnt that what everyone else normally does?

I assume you have a wireless router? GTS cloning is an option on D/P. No AR. I understand your point, but you do have that option... Fair game, ekeke?

Most traders do tell you ahead of time that a Pokemon has been cloned, and if not, it is obvious when their inventory never decreases, lol. :(

I know about GTS Cloning, but it seems kinda risky to me, so I'm not even gonna try it out.

It just annoys me that people clone when others can't and the original cloner won't offer to clone the other Pokemon for them.

Uh, ask for Arceus, as I believe that it's still banned on the GTS (haven't done any trading in a while...). As such, no one would take your Pokemon. If you are wary about that, use... level 100 Sunkern, Venonat, Diglett, Mankey, Shuppet? Can't you specify region/gender etc?
I believe many would offer a copy back... Pessimistic much?
