Eating cereal with forks

ITT: Do you use any inappropriate instruments to eat your food? I use spoons to eat muffins.

Signomi October 25th, 2009 11:45 AM

There was a time in my life where I used to eat spaghetti with a knife. No, not with a fork and a spoon like any other normal child, but a knife.

Hey, at least the spaghetti still tasted nice.

EpsilonE October 25th, 2009 11:47 AM

I use a fork and knife for hot dogs and melted candy bars (snickers, reeses)

On the other hand, I use my hands to eat tool used foods like salads and steak

Muheheheheheh

Ayselipera October 25th, 2009 12:06 PM

Sometimes I eat french fries with a fork.
I really don't know why. :)

Captain Hobo. October 25th, 2009 12:31 PM

My dad and I have always ate noodles with forks.

Um.. aren't you supposed to eat noodles with forks? @[email protected]

I somehow ended up eating soup with a fork the other day... and sometimes eat yoghurt with a knife :>

Vigilante October 25th, 2009 1:40 PM

I'm a hands on type of person, and prefer to go without my silverware. I use my hands for just about everything.

Hope you wash 'em beforehand. BD

The only thing I can recall is that I typically use a spoon to eat vegetables. Mostly peas and corn, for the simple reason that I don't want to do that whole knife-and-fork trick. At a restaurant, I tend to refrain myself from doing this, but at home or at school nobody really cares what I use to eat with.

On a side note, I was actually forced to eat a steak and salad with a spoon the other day, as there were absolutely no forks to be found. That was a pretty annoying experience.

poopnoodle October 25th, 2009 2:42 PM

I eat applesauce with a fork...it feels like it lasts longer if I do. :3

Guy October 25th, 2009 3:22 PM

There are those occasional moments where I happen to use a different utensil for my food. For instance, there were a couple of times when I ate soup with a fork and even ate ice cream with a fork rather than a spoon. I happen to use my hands on those special days as well [don't worry, I do wash beforehand.] xD Other than this, it isn't something that happens often, but I'm sure it'll happen again sometime in the future for me and many others too.

Gymnotide October 25th, 2009 3:59 PM

I like to eat cookies with spoons too.

Lars, I shun.

Not every other normal child.

Everyone who uses a fork and spoon is in the wrong. You're supposed to use a fork. Just a fork. No spoon. That's how you authentically eat pasta.

...on that note I have no idea how to use chop sticks. So...I end up stabbing the food or just using a fork. Which I am very ashamed of

Her October 25th, 2009 5:08 PM

I remember stabbing M&M's with forks when I was younger because I thought I'd be able to gobble them down quicker than simply grabbing them with my hands, it was quite fun until I realized I could develop carpal tunnel from it. x-x

Esper October 25th, 2009 6:18 PM

Once upon a time I thought you were supposed to eat all Asian food with chopsticks. I would make curry rice and painstakingly eat it that way until I found out you're supposed to use a spoon. XD

Corvus of the Black Night October 25th, 2009 6:33 PM

I eat bagels, not cereal >=D

I'll eat with whatever utensil I have at hand, whether it be a fork, spoon, knife, or saltshaker. Innovation is key to using a saltshaker to eat soup - can YOU do it?

RYOUKI October 25th, 2009 6:36 PM

lol, no. I can't stand if things are not precise.

Alexithymia~ October 26th, 2009 9:07 AM

I sometimes go at a steak like it's a 'meat cookie' .. as I think Todd once said in Scrubs. But that's only at home and when my mum is not looking XD

I wouldn't do that in a restaurant. I'd probably be kicked out.

Michii October 26th, 2009 11:35 AM

I find that a fork and a spoon can be interchangable for certain foods. Vegetables love both at my house, for example. Dinner! M'KAY -sits down- Fork or spoon? Fork, please. Fork if there's meat, spoon if there's not. The only dinner that I have no idea which utensil to use is mac 'n' cheese with mixed vegetables XD;.

Other than that, I believe that I usually eat my food with the right utensil. Although I ate chicken and fried rice with chopsticks the other day :3. It's definitely not easy.

minchan October 26th, 2009 1:28 PM

Ooh I use chopsticks to eat rice. ALWAYS. It's actually kinda normal, since it's almost always chinese or japanese rice. and I'm chinese myself. (asian chopstick instincts!!)

but it's darn hard until you get the hang of it. Sticky Rice is easiest. lol

sometimes I eat jell-o with my hands. XD

ummm i tried eating stuff with a knife once or twice. a plastic one, mind you. LOL

Gary, the Magic Fairy October 26th, 2009 1:34 PM

GRAPEFRUIT WITH AN ICE CREAM SCOOP.

I ate salad out of a plastic ziploc bag once. Like, the lettuce and stuff was in the bag, I poured dressing in, closed it and shook it, then opened it and proceeded to just shove it to the top of the bag and grab bites of it with my mouth like a sandwich or something.

I've also eaten fried chicken with a plastic spork before, but that wasn't by choice; the restaurant only has sporks and butter knives. They were leaning more towards the spoon type than the fork type, too.

Cheesymitten October 27th, 2009 9:09 AM

Yay for dangerously eating a piece of cake with a knife!
Yes this is actually what i do.
BUT not with the pointy jagged chainsaw-like one.

Gymnotide October 27th, 2009 3:54 PM

I drink soup with two chopsticks, using the power of cohesion to draw liquid up between the two sticks.

Chopsticks (b'')b

I myself sometimes eat noodles with spoons :P

MarstheCar October 29th, 2009 7:09 AM

I usually eat ice cream with a fork. Messy when it melts, but oh well.

I Can Talk Like This Too
Also, A Fork Is A Normal Utensil To Use When Eating Noodles.

I eat hot dogs with a fork, knife, and spoon.

Gymnotide October 29th, 2009 2:21 PM

I use a pumpkin to drink apple pie.

x Smileykam October 29th, 2009 11:18 PM

i use my spoon to eat ice cream, even if its in a cone

i also use a fork to eat french fries...? D:

Miz en Scène October 30th, 2009 2:43 AM

I eat noodles with a spoon. I drink milk with a hollowed out, wafer stick.
Also, I eat strawberry jam/strawberry ice-cream with a knife. I lick it off like I'm licking off blood from a knife. XD

Someone already mentions chopsitcks. :P I guess it depends on the area if more people use fork or chopsticks. Yes, some people might think eating noddles with forks is weird. But eh, not too serious about this since I eat noddles with forks too. XD

I think ice cream with a spoon is normal if you're eating it from a small bowl, as I see a lot of people do that at my workplace, but in a cone, that's a whole other story. XD

Anyways, I think the strangest thing I did is fork and knife on fried chicken and when I was a kid, eating eggs with my hands. XD

ConR October 30th, 2009 10:29 AM

If i have spare gravy, ill normally finish it with a fork.

Gymnotide November 3rd, 2009 2:09 PM

I use other peoples' hands to feed me cereal sometimes.

Aberbecam November 3rd, 2009 8:19 PM

I use knives and forks while eating a hamburger. I don't want my hands to get dirty. xD

Haza November 3rd, 2009 11:35 PM

Sometimes I eat pizza with a fork but for the most part, no. Why make things any more difficult than they have to be?

Camo November 3rd, 2009 11:49 PM

Who needs silverware when you have hands! NOM NOM NOM.......

Synaesthesia November 4th, 2009 1:07 PM

Um... very rarely do I not eat with cutlery. I mean, if it's a snack then I'll probably eat with my hands, but a meal... pizza is just about the only meal I eat with my hands.

Misty4Life November 14th, 2009 6:44 PM

Let's see...I eat my spagetti with a spoon rather than a fork, which is considered unusual to my friends' parents. I eat a piece of chicken(not cut up, but whole) on a fork with me eating around the sides. I also eat pizza with a fork sometimes. I eat cake with my hands not a fork. Um, I sometimes eat pie with my hands behind my back, just using my mouth, for the fun of it. ; P My dad really told me off on how inapporpriate that was. Hmm, I also eat muffins with a spoon, but that was because I was dunking them in milk.

Does drinking hot chocolate/chocalate milk with a spoon rather than a straw count? xD;

Charizard★ November 15th, 2009 6:32 AM

Yea, once I tried to be funny at McDonald's and took a fork to eat a burger an old lady thought I was crazy lol xD

I eat most hand-foods with forks and knives, thanks very much D:

>Feelings< November 17th, 2009 1:54 AM

Assuming that my hands count as an "instrument", it would be that I sometimes use my hand to eat rather than using some "instrument".
I use my hand to eat burgers and such most of the times, because they feel like they SHOULD be eaten with the help of hand instead of knives or forks...

BHwolfgang November 17th, 2009 2:32 PM

I once used a fork and knife for my pepperoni pizza, but that was a one time deal.

I sometimes use a fork and knife when eating very thin-crust gormet pizza. Mostly because I'm in a restaurant and want to avoid using my hands.

But, eventually I give up and use my hands.

gummybarz November 17th, 2009 8:26 PM

When I eat chicken usually I use a fork and knife, except if i'm very hungry then I just dig in.

Pokepal17 November 18th, 2009 5:36 PM

Umm. Well there have been times I've eaten rice with my bare hands because I like the mushy feeling. :)

Doesn't rice stick on your fingers? o_O

Soul Eater November 19th, 2009 12:35 PM

Yes, all the time. I eat chop suey or mac and cheese with a spoon... because its easier to scoop out rather than using a fork.

...unless you speak of sporks than i would use this for anything ANYDAY. <3

Code November 19th, 2009 12:37 PM

Umm....is eating Hamburger with knife and fork considered normal?? XD

KillingAlien250 November 19th, 2009 12:38 PM

Usin' spoons for cereal, forks for SPAGHETTI, and knife for other things ._.

You put too much water in your rice.

& that's quite normal to eat rice with your hands -- that's why rice-balls exist.
