Synchros?

Synchros

I'd like to know what you all think on synchros. Overpowered, weak, overused, boring, fusion rip off, total metagame crushers, losers, the list is as long as your imagination is.

Synchros, in my opinion, are the worst. As soon as they came out to YGO, they've been overused. Some poeple just throw them in there to be cool. I haven't seen a non synchro/fusion deck in ages. I dislike all Synchros, and still wonder why Black Rose Dragon was made Synchro.

Speaking of the Black Rose Dragon, it seems about every strong, legend-like monster made in 5Ds is Synchro. D:

I personally think that synchros are great, but way overused. D;

I guess you're right; they're good in strategies and such, but overall, yes, they are quite overused.

I wonder, why were they made white as well? (then again, why fusions purple? -.- )

DonRoyale October 26th, 2009 2:06 PM

Since they had to ban Scientist AND Metamorphosis, UDE needed something to break the Fusion (now referred to as Extra) Deck.

Remember the good old days, when people ran EVERY FREAKING FUSION IMAGINABLE?!
just because you could, harmlessly, lmao

Oh, good times...
I remember Goatmorphing into Thousand-Eyes Restrict and Scientist Turtling...sob...the days of control are long over ;-;

Apple Juice October 27th, 2009 2:21 PM

Haha, good point. Yeah, I definitley remember back when I dueled people with more then 15 fusions ><;

Lol, banning Scientist. What else is new ? XD

Gymnotide October 28th, 2009 7:07 PM

My Fusion Deck had over a hundred cards in it... Because it wasn't against the rules.

Apple Juice October 29th, 2009 2:39 PM

It wasn't? Lol, that sounds interesting. Could you get any of the fusions? :O

Gymnotide October 29th, 2009 3:07 PM

Yup; now you can only have 15 because Synchros are so versatile.

Apple Juice October 29th, 2009 3:14 PM

Lol, I knew that part of the rules XD;;

So, I was wondering, if you can run 100 fusions and 15 synchros, there is no possible way to have a chance of summoning them all (not at once of course)...

Right?

Because, the limit of 60 cards in a deck, and the 3 card limit, plus limits/semi limits, youd have to have a lot of fusion sages & polymerization, plus some tuners and some fusion material, but that's all you can throw in if you want to summon any of them.

Noo, I meant before you could have as many Fusion and Synchros as you wanted. Now you can have 15 as a combination of any Synchros or Fusions MAXIMUM.

And eh, you used to be able to use the same Extra Deck for every Deck you owned... Or even use it with cards like Metamorphosis or Magical Scientist (neither of which can be used now), or Cyber Stein.

Apple Juice October 30th, 2009 2:30 PM

lol @ scientist. Damn, that card was pretty fun to use.

Bah, new rules. I keep forgetting them. ><;

MithosFall November 9th, 2009 7:09 PM

I use Synchros but I think they killed the game and many other former Yu-Gi-Oh! tcg players would probably concur.

Ivix Kuroshu November 9th, 2009 7:21 PM

I'm not opposed to Synchros. Heck, I use them all the time now. My only problem is, for example, that you can combine a battery (Nitro Synchron) and a giant skeletal fiend (Summoned Skull) and somehow get Stardust Dragon...

kohei November 10th, 2009 4:25 AM

Pros:
Synchros with little material restriction can be used as finishers in a weak fan deck that wouldn't have stood a chance against serious decks.

Synchros are Rituals and Fusions done right.

Cons:
Makes for a boring metagame, where most of the time winning or losing is decided by who summons a Synchro monster first.

Also Konami is incompetent, as always, when it comes to balancing card power VS ease of use.
Look at DSF. It got released and banned within the year.
