Has anyone got pokemon green and do you like it?

Do you guys have it?
I bought it about 4 years ago and I like it because of the different sprites.

IceSage November 3rd, 2009 1:03 PM

The funny thing is... Those different sprites were considered horrid and ugly by the Japanese crowd, which is why Blue was introduced to make up for it. I mean, it is interesting to see different Pokemon designs though.

Sydian November 3rd, 2009 1:48 PM

I want to get it just for lulz. xD It'd be epic to have it, yup yup. And I didn't think those sprites were any worse than RB sprites. In fact, most of my favorite sprites are from those older games. C:

i borrowed it from my friend and kept it for about 3 months, i wanted to play it cause the sprites looked so freakin cool. i liked green/garys sprite alot. his hair is all over the place xDD

Same, because it's just that bad. The closest I could ever get to it was playing a ROM and that's not really much. ]:

Rucario November 4th, 2009 7:31 PM

I had it. I bought it off of Ebay, but my friends brother wanted it so I gave it to him.

Redstar November 4th, 2009 8:16 PM

Friend of mine plays the original cart, untranslated. Some of the in-game trades are different, and the Unknown Dungeon is a different layout. The sprites aren't necessarily bad, but most people construe them that way because Pokemon are "cute" now. It should be remembered that they're Pocket Monsters, and before the anime they were intended to be dumb animals.

Dragard November 4th, 2009 8:21 PM

I saw a translated Green version at a Yard Sale one day, but didn't buy it. The cart was gray, so I thought it was fake, and I had never heard of this "Green Version" back then, so yeah.

Now I regret not getting it, it was only $5 and they had a lot of high level Pokemon.

Nah mines untranslated and im happy cause the cart looks awesome.

Myles November 4th, 2009 10:40 PM

The sprites weren't just not cute. They looked like they were drawn by someone with little artistic talent. The reason the back sprites look so terrible (as well as being low resolution), is because they didn't change from RG. Some of the more worse ones:

I Have it :) . There is a japanese school very close to where I live and it has a school fest every year, including a flea market :D . I got red and green for a bargain of only 1 € :D.
(a year before I also got a freezing bag of pokémon cards for 1 € ^^)

Nah, it is a fake since the game was exclusive to Japan only. They are horribly translated anyway.

I have to agree with you on that one. I've found that my most favorite of all sprites come from Yellow. The positioning of the pokemon just worked.

Sadly, I do not have green version. Still, I have seen the green sprites and they're interesting for the most part. :)

TwilightBlade November 8th, 2009 9:39 AM

At a flea market, I was about to buy Pokemon Green but I bought the bootleg Pokemon Diamond instead... Oh well, new monsters are funner than new sprites. However, Green was translated better. Either way, both were $30, which was a rip off in say, 2003 or so. >_<

Nikorasu November 14th, 2009 12:24 PM

Mews pokemon green sprite was ugly

Charizard★ November 15th, 2009 1:31 PM

When did they even sell that game? lol

Even if it was fake.. I still would of spent the $5 for it.

Heather November 18th, 2009 9:42 AM

I would love to have Green version. If I saw it now I would buy it in a heart beat :)

Arcta November 19th, 2009 8:49 AM

There was never an 'American Release' of Green. Red and Blue were just that-the japanese Red and Blue rerelease. Updated with..."better" sprites, and some other stuff.
