How many hours did you put in gsc before it stop saving

i put in about 600 hours yep 600

Pokémon Ranger ✩ Moriarty November 28th, 2009 2:16 PM

None of my cartridges from any Generation have ever died on me. XD I count myself as supremely lucky.

Biohemoth November 28th, 2009 2:56 PM

i put about 600 to 700 on there then it died and i cryed

Heather November 28th, 2009 4:25 PM

I might have put like 50 hours on my Crystal. I bought it a month before I joined PC. Then it died a couple of months after that. And on my gold I could of had like 200 but I stopped playing it for a while then I noticed it died.

GlitchCity November 28th, 2009 8:33 PM

im at 100 something hours now on my crystal version. Im afraid to play it now because I dont know when it will stop working. (i bought a used one at gamestop bout 5 years ago)

ShinySilver November 30th, 2009 8:07 AM

About 500 hours for me, one of my mates got around 800/900 though.

§1 November 30th, 2009 11:08 AM

crystal version still works fine...so did my gold version, gave it away last year to my younger cousin

hell my yellow version, which was my first gameboy game still works...my silver version loses its saved file if i take it out of a gameboy, or if the battery dies though

The Red Chain November 30th, 2009 11:46 AM

I'd say about 200 hours altogether.
I restarted my game many times when I was younger, so I can't say that estimate is very accurate. XD

Shiny Shaymin November 30th, 2009 1:48 PM

Let's check...

*checks*

WOW:
876...

Blaze E Ken November 30th, 2009 2:54 PM

all of mine are still living

Red 1 hr started new game
Blue 112 hr
Yellow 437 hr
Gold 8 hr
Crystal 624 hr

Troggy December 11th, 2009 6:13 AM

Last I checked all 6 of my Gen I/II carts are still going, but I migrated everything from the metal carts to Pokemon Stadium 2 to be a little safer. I have approaching 200 hours on Crystal, but I have restarted Gold and Silver multiple times so I don't know the total there. Same with RBY, started all of those multiple times, and also played them on double speed via PS2 a lot, so their times are pretty wrong now.

icycatelf December 11th, 2009 1:03 PM

I've reset my Silver Version so many times that it's hard to say for sure how much time I spent on it in all, though I guess, though it had to be well over 800 hours (the amount of time I've spent on Pearl). It hasn't died yet and I hope it won't. I have so many precious Pokemon on there including my Umbreon, Tyranitar, Mew, and Celebi (none of which were hacked, though the later two were 'glitched'). I guess, to be on the safe side, I should clone my precious Pokemon and have some back-ups stored in my Pokemon Stadium 2 N64 Box. Of course, if my save file did vanish and I replaced the internal battery, I would have to capture at least 150 Pokemon before I could withdraw them...

yaminokaitou December 11th, 2009 10:16 PM

I had somewhere around 200. I almost had all 251 pokemon too. I think I was missing like 10. I was sooo upset when my cartridge died because of that.

Brendonwii December 12th, 2009 12:02 AM

probably 30-50 hours.
DAMM I ALSO HAD CELEBI.

Uecil December 12th, 2009 4:55 AM

i brought the gold game from the bootmarket they said it worked perfectly fine and then i had atleast 5-6 hours playing on it and i saved it and turned it back on it was deleted

Enigma December 12th, 2009 2:20 PM

I think it was about 600-800 hours. It was a long time ago, so I can't remember that well.

Nikorasu December 12th, 2009 2:33 PM

The most i ever put in was 200

Bloody hell guys thats like 30 days of your life >.<

Maelstromk December 12th, 2009 4:05 PM

Well I don't own most of my games anymore so I'll have to go with what I remember
Original Blue:400+ hours before death
Second Blue:1 hr and 44 minutes (water monotype in process)
Silver:about 900 hours before death
Yellow:about 240 before death

rockman0 December 12th, 2009 9:31 PM

My red is still working. I played it and was like, Wow, those games have come far.

My yellow stopped working after Pokemon Stadium malfunctioned while I was uploading some Pokemon.

My gold is currently MIA.

Hovo December 12th, 2009 11:21 PM

My Gold and Crystal versions died two years ago. I had them both since their released and played them almost non-stop so it's no surprise there.

sab December 13th, 2009 8:42 AM

I'm up to 900 hours on crystal. At 550 I had to replace my internal battery. I backed it on the cp first though re-wrote the save.

Poke'Master24 December 14th, 2009 1:12 AM

you guys should invest in a monster brain. I use it to keep all my saves safe, and if the batteries ever go out, you just replace them and you can get your file back.

FireShock December 14th, 2009 8:33 PM

My longest was Gold at 450 and it never died on me as a matter of fact my only game to have a internal battery die was Yellow which stopped working at 45-50.

yomamathecableguy December 18th, 2009 3:30 PM

Well, my Crystal version never died. I lost it. T.T I had 1300 hours on that thing... I was so depressed. :'(

Melash December 19th, 2009 8:39 AM

I own Yellow, Red, Blue, Silver, and Crystal..and they're all working except for Yellow, which has some weird problems on it. I can't even estimate how many hours I put into those games...haha.

iwuzhere9 December 19th, 2009 11:57 AM

My Silver has made it around 150 hours, the longest I have put into any. (I restart games too much to get a long time in them)

Legobricks December 20th, 2009 7:45 AM

I think about 150–200 in Crystal, and the battery is still live.

I've got a soldering iron so I could always change it if I want to anyway.

Kikaito plush December 20th, 2009 7:46 AM

My Silver died last night, I had about 40 hours on there..

BHwolfgang December 20th, 2009 12:30 PM

I was somewhere between my 400th and 500th hour in Silver before it died on me. I remember being really sad that day; it almost felt like someone died because of my general mood. :O

dozo December 20th, 2009 4:46 PM

I had roughly 150-200 hours on my Silver & Yellow
Though I didn't have Crystal long enough to have many hours on it..

Zeta Sukuna December 20th, 2009 5:16 PM

450-600 hours, and Gold is still working fine. But it's starting to go, I think.

null1024 December 21st, 2009 1:45 PM

My Gold is still running, but I dunno exactly how long it's been.

I know I've gone through it 3 times already, so 22*3+15=86 hours for me. I got it from someone else a while ago who has beaten it a couple times well, so I can't do much better than that as an estimate.

And even if it dies, I can just swap out the save battery and Gameshark all my Pokemon back in. I'd have to start my adventure over, but after I beat it again, I'll probably just restart anyway.

Ayselipera December 21st, 2009 4:07 PM

I have Yellow, Blue, Gold, Silver, and Crystal. They are all still thriving. ;)

InvisibleGoldenBulbasaur December 21st, 2009 7:17 PM

545:23 on my poor dead Silver, 244:39 on my poor (almost) dead Crystal.

129:53 on my Gold, whose battery was replaced a few months ago. :D (It was my TM farm before my other two died, so I dunno how many hours it had in total.)

R/B/Y all work perfectly fine. My Red has about 60 hours on it, and my former speedrun Blue has 18 or so hours. Yellow, I haven't played it since 2001 but it works >.>;

hectord25 December 23rd, 2009 5:35 PM

These cartrigdes die?I`m playing Gold with 170 hours, but this never hace stopped of saving.

MizuJosh December 24th, 2009 8:29 AM

I think my Silver is dead. It restarts every once in a while. But it could be because I hacked it...

However, my Crystal still works (though it doesn't like to cooperate with my Pokémon Stadium 2 GBT).

Lord Varion January 6th, 2010 3:24 AM

Aint dead yet?
put its getting glitchy ... soo i might be diening soon

Skweetis January 16th, 2010 5:07 AM

I played Crystal for 200+ hours in just my original file, had it for almost a decade and it works perfectly fine. Silver does too.

JaniWesker January 16th, 2010 12:26 PM

About 300 hours in Silver (last save).

Weird January 18th, 2010 2:04 PM

My Gold and Silver cartridges are playing fine, but my Crystal cartridge stopped working after 150 hours ( my neightbour destroyed it with one of his crazy ideas)

Jayster23 January 19th, 2010 1:16 AM

I only played Sliver for about 150 hours give or take a few hours. I had all 251 pokemon and then i lost it for a week when i found it it was corrupted I threw my GBA and broke it :(

DGexe January 19th, 2010 1:18 AM

I can't remember my big, main game of Crystal... there was a long hiatus between sessions, and sometime during that it stopped saving. Didn't know what happened, thought I had restarted on my own and "forgot"...

Play again, got... 8 hours or less. .___.;

barnsleynut January 20th, 2010 3:20 PM

never had one fail on me yet!

I Tried Voodoo Once January 20th, 2010 6:42 PM

my GBC died before my games lol, my crystal works still after 700 hours (between me and my brother)
and my yellow has 237 hours (Me )

¡No Hablo Inglés! January 20th, 2010 8:48 PM

I had somewhere around 150 hours on Silver, then I didn't play it for a year or so and when I decided to go back and check it, the battery was dead.

Gold, however, still works fine with about 70 hours on it.

ChrisTom January 21st, 2010 11:31 AM

I am very happy to say my memory has not gone yet!

Ss4gogeta0 January 21st, 2010 4:20 PM

more or less i put atleast a couple thousand hours into pokemon gold...... 800 in yellow and 300 approamatly into blue

SuperJames January 31st, 2010 2:41 PM

About 300 on gold

And in that time i never saw a shinny =(

Zeta Sukuna January 31st, 2010 4:18 PM

I never lost my ability to save, however, I did lose one save file that had 213 hours on it. It had my prized Lv. 100 Meganium and Lv. 91 Ho-oh on it. I was trying to get my pokemon to Lv. 100, and it got deleted somehow. But I can still save. I know I didn't delete the save file, and I didn't know anyone who would do that to me, so... yeah.

-Jake January 31st, 2010 5:29 PM

256 on Crystal...
15 days of my childhood dedicated to Pokemon. *shot*
My Silver Version barely had any time on it but it would never save... it was weird. :|

Ryōko January 31st, 2010 5:33 PM

Over about 100 hours until I stopped playing.
I had the best team that could beat anyone! After I stopped playing I eventually decided to come back only to find out my file was erased some how...

SunStorm55 February 7th, 2010 12:49 PM

Not yet...

My Version of Gold has never died, but if it does, I bought a used Mega Memory Card on eBay so I can still load my game save without ever having to replace the battery. :)

Team Rocket's Raichu February 7th, 2010 7:12 PM

I play it on an R4 right now, so it doesn't matter to me. :P

But on my Crystal (GBC) game about 50 hours before it died. I was crushed. :'(

XCHAMPX February 7th, 2010 7:25 PM

I played 1285 hours. I invested my whole life and being into the game. Then one day poof file was corrupted. I no longer have a being to live..

Demigod February 7th, 2010 7:38 PM

I gaveaway my Gold version years ago and it didn't died but who knows maybe it did now i don't have it so i can't know for sure.. i don't know how many hours i had on it maybe around 100.

I had my red last year before i gave it too and it never died. It had ALOT of hours on it.

Caelus February 7th, 2010 8:26 PM

I sold my copy before it died out, but I recall it having 40 hours on it.
That's just one file; 300+ hours total, perhaps.

uitima ff fan February 7th, 2010 8:34 PM

Wow this is the most popular thread ive ever posted

Soul.//Silver February 8th, 2010 11:55 PM

My Pokemon Silver or Crystal battery is still alive and kicking, along with ALL of my other GB/GBC games. Not one of the batteries has died. Although...the time on my Silver somehow reset and I had to set it again, hope that isn't a sign of things to come.

Dusclord February 9th, 2010 3:32 AM

I have got my gold version since 2002, I use it regularly since then and restarted the game several times. I think I easily went to 500 hours on it and it still saves the game, well maybe it's gonna die tomorrow or whatever but right now it's working *-*

Zizi February 9th, 2010 4:55 AM

My Gold still works yet i have no idea how because it's probably the game i've played on the most ^_^ love it :D

Takoto February 9th, 2010 5:34 AM

Both Gold and Silver together? Over 800 probably.

Jubedube February 14th, 2010 5:44 PM

WAIT A MINUTE, IT DIES?

FFFFUUUUUUUUHDUHSADJBASDMSDASASBDUKJASDJBKUH

AutumnLynnxLove February 15th, 2010 12:32 PM

Weeeeell.
My boyfriend had a good 600 total but on a game before that he'd logged about 100 and restarted, and gave his Crystal to me bc he loves me and knows it's my favorite game AND gave me his SP with it.
I started a new game. I have about 20 hours logged so far...it's still working AMAZINGLY.
I will cry if it restarts, or stops saving.
I.
Will.
CRY.

oooh and I dropped the SP WITH the Crystal in it and on in the pond in front of my house, stood there shocked for 20 seconds then fished it out...and it still worked!
This was about a month ago too and it's still fine.
Only thing is when it's 1pm here it says it's 3:42am on the game and so the time is screwed up bigtime and unchangeable.

Brendino February 15th, 2010 4:46 PM

I've had my Pokemon Gold for a good 8-9 years, and it's still going. I've restarted it multiple times, and the one I am currently on has around 85 hours or something. I'm actually quite surprised at the number of people that still have their G/S/C working, as anyone I know (except for my cousin) had their Gold die a LONG time ago.

Nikorasu February 17th, 2010 7:50 AM

My game hasn't died yet D:.

Infact looking back my pokemon yellow still works which i;ve had since it was out.

ριє™ February 17th, 2010 8:07 AM

Only about 1300 D':
They I cyred for a whole day!

Green20 February 17th, 2010 7:12 PM

I don't know how many hours I had on silver...but I got it used in 02 and it still works

Dirtyjerry February 17th, 2010 9:22 PM

I had around 120 when I stopped playing it. It never quit out on me, though.

rizyq February 22nd, 2010 12:48 PM

I had countless hours on my Gold game, I used to battle my friends all the time (Though my team consisted of 6 dupped lvl 100 crobats xD )

I had probably 100-200 hours on it. Though, my friend who stopped playing pokemon a long time ago, I randomly looked at his games he had 400 hours on gold and silver.

My Crystal still works though :D

tim0789 February 22nd, 2010 1:06 PM

So many files, so many hours, so much disappointment...

rockshock28 February 22nd, 2010 6:14 PM

I have an old Crystal, and it still works. But that's why I use an emulator, it never dies.

Lieutenant Unstable February 22nd, 2010 6:24 PM

I had close to 200 hours on my Silver before it died. I also had all three legendary dogs that I captured within an hour of one another, without using cheats. I was so proud of that moment. I cloned those suckers like it was my job.

A week later...gone. =(

My Red & Yellow still work. I never had Blue. However, my cousin left me with his Silver/Gold(doesn'twork)/Blue/Red/Crystal/Ruby games to keep for him about four years ago. Since he won't even talk to me now, I'm contemplating making them miiiiine...>_>

Tudsworth February 23rd, 2010 1:08 AM

On my Silver cartridge, I'd played for about 400 hours, not including restarts. I think it died in 2008, though I didn't bother to find out how to fix it 'til pretty recently.

Shake April 17th, 2010 6:49 PM

I don't know how many hours, but I do know that I palyed pokemon g/s/c every day for about 6 years.
Isn't that sad. =P

.Kaiser April 19th, 2010 9:23 AM

Max time (Crystal version):
700h-900h
Somewhere in between. B the W, this is on VBA.
xD

mirrorcleworld April 19th, 2010 1:37 PM

Blue and Gold both got deleted, had about 100 hours combined I believe.

Yellow has 15 hours maybe, never finished it...or maybe I finished it and accidentally deleted it, can't remember.

Silver has ~ 121 hours, and is still fine, I booted it up the other day to make sure.

Haven't checked on Red yet...

Alice April 19th, 2010 2:28 PM

I have like 600 or something on crystal still lol. I played through blue a million times, so I probably actually have like 2000 hours, but silver is the only one that doesn't save anymore. I probably only had like 100.

iDuL April 22nd, 2010 6:18 PM

257 Hours on Crystal. I remember how excited I got when HeartGold and SoulSilver were announced. Johto Pokemon are the best.

Limey-chan April 22nd, 2010 6:22 PM

398 hours and x amount of minutes on Gold (And counting) without it dying...

TheNewRocketMovement May 18th, 2010 9:34 AM

On gold I saved my game at the top of Mt. Silver at excatly 251 hours, I then left the game completely.
It mysteriously disappeared a few weeks later, I still have hope that its somewhere in my house.

SkyAngel May 18th, 2010 9:47 AM

on gold i had more then 1000 hours before it quit saving -_-..
