*Celebrates on second domain* I got my second top level domain wee. At least flexBB works, which is the good thing.

Tyler December 10th, 2006 5:43 PM

its because i believe he hacked his own site Pokefeeds and other peoples forums so i dont trust him anymore.

What domain is that? Anyway, congrats. I haven't ever gotten one. I'm quite close to getting 1000 points on EzyRewards though.

Faltzer December 11th, 2006 1:17 PM

It's the banner in my sig if that gives you a clue. Currently the web site for it is under development.

Rindiny December 11th, 2006 1:22 PM

According to him, it's supposed to be a Megaman Battle Network project to bring Megaman online, like Pokemon Netbattle. And because people these days aren't really putting much effort into MMBN folder building, he's deciding to make it competitive netbattling based as well. :)

pokejungle December 12th, 2006 1:02 AM

I want to try out that PHPBB3 forum Greg~ Whee. But even thought it's a joke, that 'copy & paste' thing is just lame ;< They got me so pissed off on SPPf, it's not even funny.

I was actually going to leave a backdoor in a website I designed for my school. Hahaha. I never went through with actually giving it to them, made my teacher remake it on her own. Didn't turn out that badly...

Let's count my domains:
http://paulhq.com
http://pokejungle.net
http://pokechan.net
http://scanvas.net
http://mountmoon.net
http://spinarak.net

Yatta~ And let's have a moment of silence for my lost pokejunglenetwork.com

Good luck with your website and good luck with your new project. ;)

Paul, why don't you send the owner of the domain a offer for the domain, maybe they will sell at an reasonable price.

aRedMoon December 12th, 2006 4:47 PM

List of domains?

Hmm...
http://pokevillage.net
http://jkaizer.net
http://aredmoon.net
http://heartxsteel.net
http://ryux.net
http://hazelthemaid.com
http://ryuxforumsnet
http://pokepress.net
http://dats.us
http://jecboards.net
http://grenanhigh.com (or something like that, it's hosted)
http://moroshek.com
http://dreamhrealty.com
http://digivice.net

And that's all I can think of off the top of my head D:
Some of them are JA's (but my name is on 'em) and some are hosted... but yeah.

pokejungle December 13th, 2006 2:57 AM

Oh, and http://bonsaiblog.net ;D

Anyways, Greg, what happened to *our* domain? ZSpace *wink*

Dragonfree December 13th, 2006 4:04 AM

I am officially weird. I spent an entire day making a list of all my sections' names, the filenames of the pages and a random humourous description of each, and then made a script that generates a random section and makes the top menu item (Featured Section) link to it with a box with the section name and description popping up by the side.

That has got to be one of the most pointless things I've ever done for my site, somewhere far up there with the Pokémon List Generator. Above that, actually, because the List Generator actually CAN be useful, at least sometimes for me. The Featured Section is just... random. o_o;; Don't ask me why the heck I made it.

It has an easter egg, though. :D

BlueEew December 13th, 2006 8:53 AM

Seems quite cool actually, I have never read the "Is pokemon dead" page before.

Eon-Rider December 14th, 2006 2:41 AM

I can't seem to find the easter egg... Give me a hint. :P

pokejungle December 14th, 2006 5:41 AM

One day all I did was redo my links to a new PHP style, the face id=, which Faltzer hates. That was a pretty boring day, although far from pointless. The time I went through my 20 pages of personal journaling on the computer and corrected all the typos...that was useless. Utterly useless, but all those green lines were bugging me in Word!

Dragonfree December 14th, 2006 7:16 AM

Finding it is luck. :P There are 91 actual sections on the site right now. There are 92 possible things that might appear.

LegosJedi December 14th, 2006 11:36 AM

Is it called vBulletin, or vBulletin Board? 'Cause I'm making forum software that's supposed to be a 'free version' of vBulletin, and I want to name it vBB for vBulletin Board, but I just want to make sure that vBulletin isn't short for vBulletin Board.

BlueEew December 14th, 2006 2:18 PM

vBulletin is vBulletin, I don't think it is actually called vBulletin Board but that is what it basically is so....

Dragonfree December 14th, 2006 3:28 PM

No, it's not called vBulletin Board; however, I'm fairly sure they could very easily sue you for naming your board that because vBulletin is a registered trademark and adding "Board" after it doesn't suddenly make it not violate the trademark.

aRedMoon December 14th, 2006 6:28 PM

Dragonfree: Awesome, awesome idea. *may steal that sometime* XD

Using any form of "vBulletin" will get you sued soooo fast.

-:Buro-kun Tsubasa:- December 14th, 2006 10:21 PM

Well, Shining Milokaross has been gone/going for ages now. I just lost intrest in it. We're not going to renew the Domain.
Also, I used to use Ezyrewards, and I got a .info name, but I worry about it, so I'm gonna let that die aswell. Currently, I'm trying to build my own layout for a new site I'm making (not pokemon,) and I'm probably gonna just use the .awardspace.com, unless it gets big, then I might register a new domain name. Still need to think of a name for it though XD. If you would like to help, it's gonna be a runescape (yep, I play) website, but not one of those stupid tiny ones, I hope. Ok, I'm blabbering on now, I think I'll shut up.

Edit: Oh, and for that Vbulliten software, how about vBoard? I don't think that's a forum software.
Good luck with it!

LegosJedi December 15th, 2006 5:45 AM

Ahh, good idea! Thanks, -:Buro-kun Tsubasa:-!

-:Buro-kun Tsubasa:- December 15th, 2006 7:51 AM

No problem :-) Glad to help, aslong as it is up soon!
Oh, and don't be afraid to call me Kun, Buro-kun!

Rindiny December 15th, 2006 12:32 PM

My school blocks words. They blocked fun for no reason, and Dragonfree's grammar was blocked too.

Dragonfree December 15th, 2006 12:51 PM

o_O; How can something block my grammar?

Rindiny December 15th, 2006 1:03 PM

Oops, I meant to say words. They blocked sue and the word bulletin. >_<;

EDIT: I can just edit the settings on IE though. So I bypass it easily.

pokejungle December 15th, 2006 3:28 PM

My school blocks anything with 'mail' in the URL.

;< I tried to get around it with my IP address cleverness (ping!) but it still blocks 'em. Damn.

Steve Z December 15th, 2006 7:24 PM

Ohh i will list my domains ^^
http://www.pokemonelement.net
http://www.pokemonelement.com
http://www.pokemongfx.com
http://www.bplforum.net
http://www.eon-rider.net

BlueEew December 16th, 2006 4:28 AM

How come you have a bleep land domain, are you staff there????

pokejungle December 16th, 2006 4:31 AM

I think Greg and I officially have the most.

;>

Greg, how big is your dubbing forum? Do I have the biggest active forum here out of all the webmasters? Shinou will pass me soon, but, I'll still keep the title of 'Biggest English Pokemon Forum' [out of the active posters at PC's Webmaster's Lounge].

I was going to say PKMN.net is a english forum with well more posts, lol.

Dragonfrees forum is larger then yours and she is active in this forum, so.....

Dragonfree December 16th, 2006 5:33 PM

Why do you all have multiple domains? I only have one and have never seen any reason to get another one. o_O I'm paying money for this, after all.

pokejungle December 16th, 2006 8:14 PM

Ok, sorry, I submit to Dragonfree.

I have many different sites, that's why oO; I don't have like 3 for PJNet.

BlueEew December 17th, 2006 2:34 AM

It dose make good sence to me to have multiple domains, as every website or forum you own with a differnt name to the other sites you sell should have a domain in my opinion.

If I had a website call test > test.com, and I had a forum for test.com it would be test.com/forums/ or forums.test.com.

However if the forums was a community or sepertste site it would be called something differnt so it would have its own domain > test1.com for example.

By the way they are not my domains.

pokejungle December 17th, 2006 3:33 AM

I need a few other domains before I start having multiples.

www.pe2k.com is the only one that I reall use out of the pokemon fandom. That saves me time!

BlueEew December 17th, 2006 7:28 AM

As anyone here every bought domains to just re-sell them for more money?

-:Buro-kun Tsubasa:- December 17th, 2006 11:57 PM

I don't have any domains anymore. Active ones, anyway. I have a .co.nr or 2, but they don't really count, do they?
God, I'm currently trying to find a free, addless host that doesn't require you to be 13. Not going very well.

pokejungle December 18th, 2006 12:30 AM

Ew, selling domains for profit~

I always kind of associate that with the low webmasters. Not a good way to make money IMO. Just let people buy them if they want them, otherwise don't just grab them up.

BlueEew December 18th, 2006 10:57 AM

I know what you mean, It is disopointing to find your wanted domain already being perchsed for no proper use.

-:Buro-kun Tsubasa:- December 18th, 2006 9:33 PM

I hvae completely revamped my new site's layout, it's now image based. Its PHP, as it has cutenews on. But today, I have to change 99 image tags. Wish me luck!

So, what are you all planning to do on your sites?

aRedMoon December 18th, 2006 10:15 PM

I have multiple domains... I don't know why.

Because no one can spell jkaizer, and so having things as subdomains to jkaizer.net doesn't work well x3

Paul... I don't have a Pokemon forum anymore.

pokejungle December 19th, 2006 12:15 AM

I know, but you digimon dubbing one or whatever. Or pokemon dubbing. Or whatever you do there.

Digi-duh!

LegosJedi December 19th, 2006 5:22 AM

Oh, I wish I could get a domain for free from somewhere.

Eon-Rider December 19th, 2006 5:29 AM

There are several ways to get a free domain name like the link in my signature.

Steve Z December 19th, 2006 8:27 AM

I know a forum where you can get a .com for 150 posts, free domains are not that hard to find, just take a while to get

LegosJedi December 19th, 2006 10:28 AM

Yeah, I'm not one for giving our personal info. Which forum Haunter Master? PM me.

Faltzer December 19th, 2006 12:44 PM

"Look, don't be cheap. Just purchase a domain name"

LegosJedi December 19th, 2006 5:41 PM

I'm not cheap. I just want to do it without my parents knowing about it.

-:Buro-kun Tsubasa:- December 19th, 2006 9:09 PM

Ezyrewards sucks. I've tried it. Its hard to get a domain name, so I ended up running out of points and then probably buy one. I don't use it anymore.

Just get one from GoDaddy, there only like $1.99 a year for a .com or .net.

pokejungle December 19th, 2006 10:13 PM

Personally, I like 1and1 for cheap domain names.

Domains are really inexpensive though o.o; I don't know why they're such a big deal that you need to search out ways to get them free~ It's less than a videogame for heaven's sakes.

Eon-Rider December 19th, 2006 10:56 PM

Some people don't have Paypal accounts etc. like me.

LegosJedi December 20th, 2006 6:15 AM

I like free stuff. I got a free domain (hostbrickmovies.com) with hosting from Lunarpages.

BlueEew December 20th, 2006 11:40 AM

The problem that can be caused by having one year free domains, is that you will probably need to perchase the domain after a year. If you don't someone else might buy it to resell for $1000+.

Dragonfree December 20th, 2006 12:47 PM

I was just starting to make this game for my site:

http://jupiter.vilhjalmur.com/butterfree/cluegame.aspx

It will be my Christmas present to the site... :3

No, it was free domain for life.

Rindiny December 20th, 2006 2:04 PM

Hey Dragonfree, is that your fathers companies web site you're hosted on? If so, is that girl with the blonde hair you? Just asking... :D;;

Dragonfree December 20th, 2006 2:07 PM

It's my dad's personal site, actually.

I'd be able to answer your latter question if you were more specific about what "girl with the blonde hair" you're referring to. o.O

Rindiny December 20th, 2006 3:24 PM

http://www.vilhjalmur.com/PicView/Show.aspx?maxwidth=760&album=Provence2003&mynd=04jul03041.jpg&rot=

In my opinion, the game she's playing gives some answer as to who it is. You look like a person I've once seen before in my school.

Dragonfree December 20th, 2006 4:48 PM

Hm, yes, that's me. Three and a half years ago. :P

pokejungle December 20th, 2006 5:29 PM

I just realized I'm older than Dragonfree.

FTW.

Dragonfree December 20th, 2006 5:44 PM

o_O Why wouldn't you be older than me?

Steve Z December 20th, 2006 6:11 PM

yeah, im older then her too, and you were playing crystal! lol, i noticed

pokejungle December 20th, 2006 11:02 PM

Dragonfree's posts are just usually pretty mature~ I thought she was older.

You [HM] however can't seem to use correct grammar/capitalization at all...so...

-:Buro-kun Tsubasa:- December 21st, 2006 1:30 AM

I'm probably the youngest on the webmasters lounge. If a few people are older than Dragonfree, and I'm younger than her.... eep!

Can anyone think of any free forum hosts that don't require you to be 13, or any free webhosts?

pokejungle December 21st, 2006 1:42 AM

Personally, I've always just lied about my age when it comes to signups.

I said I was like 17 for Neopets way back when~ Ah, the good 'ol days.

We're Pokemon webmasters. As it is, the fandom looks childish. I think that the producers of any websites should strive for a more mature look. It will reflect better on the fandom as a whole. In my humble opinion at least~

It's important. Plus, you should get used to typing fast with the correction grammar and capitalization. It helps for reports.

Steve Z December 22nd, 2006 11:41 AM

Just because I don't capitalize or punctuate correctly in a forum post, doesn't mean I'm like that all the time.....
I used to just hit enter after every damn sentence.
Didn't punctuate, or capitalize, but then I realized, I'm just as bad as chatspeakers, but with understandable text.

Faltzer December 22nd, 2006 2:14 PM

Buro-Kun, I'm actually the one of the youngest webmasters here. Your birth date if I recall correctly is February. Then again, I might be wrong about being one of the youngest webmasters here because I know a few who are younger.

I'm not perfect at grammar, but hey, I try my best. I also cheat with Firefox's spell checker. If only they had a grammar detector...

I knew that Dragonfree was that young lady when I first saw that picture. I also like the pool her house has, it looks really attractive. By the way Dragonfree, does it get that cold on the winter where you live? I know it's stupid asking this because of the name implying its weather, if that's true.

Dragonfree December 22nd, 2006 4:42 PM

That's not OUR house. o_o;; It's the house we rented when we went on vacation in France in 2003. That entire album is from that vacation... you'd have to be nuts to have an outdoor swimming pool in Iceland. o_O

And Iceland is definitely not appropriately named in the winter, because it doesn't get all that cold - it's warmer in Iceland than in New York in January on average. But the summers would on most foreigners's scales be pretty cold; it's an island climate with little seasonal swings - about ten degrees (celsius) average in the summer and maybe around zero in the winter, I think, although you shouldn't quote me on the numbers. We wear shorts and sunbathe when it's 15-20 degrees. :p

They were way better here way back when. And that article was also written ages ago as well, and things have changed a bit since then.

pokejungle December 24th, 2006 2:49 AM

I remember it from back then too. I did take the time to read it again though.

Honestly though, I don't see any webmasters that really have come into the permanent position that weren't there before. Greg, Dragonfree, and I are active at the moment, and we were here before. There isn't really a new big site that popped up with a webmaster that's posting here.

Just seems like there isn't much new blood that isn't just passing. Little sites always seem to come and go. Not a bad thing, just observing. After two and a half years of being active in this forum.

Even PokeVillage was dead until recently~

Hi,
I'm Wondering about HTML when I put a Picture on I want it at the right and I also want other writing at the left! But when I try the writing always goes to the bottom or the top.

Please can you tell me the coding to make it stay at the left side(the writing!)
~Pikachu Trainer~

Steve Z December 29th, 2006 11:56 AM

Well, easy way to do that would be(and im doing this because i like them) tables

HTML Code:

<table width="400" border="0">
  <tr>
    <td width="200" align="center">Writing</td>
    <td width="200" align="center">Image</td>
  </tr>
</table>

Just edit the width to what suits you

Geometric-sama December 30th, 2006 5:38 AM

Eww. Like, NO.

Code:

<img src="whatever" style="float: right;" />text here blah blah

For the love of XHTML, go with Pochama's way.

HM's way will just make things harder in the end.

Steve Z December 30th, 2006 8:48 AM

Well, true, XHTML is the way to go, I was just pointing out the most basic way of doing it that I know.
I'm sorry you hate it >.>

Webmastering is fun when you do things your way. On another side note, I don't recall ever leaving my computer on for two days straight without any power off. I should do it more often.

pokejungle December 30th, 2006 9:24 PM

I've done that with my laptop, but most of the time it was in hibernate and I just forgot that it was on~~

Using a laptop as a server rofl. That'd be fun to try.

Google AdSence question;

I was reading through the information on it, and realised that it says "payed by 1000 page impressions" or something like that.

Dose anyone have an average, per 1000?
